China Star Restaurant

I disagree with the previous reviews. Tucked away and unassuming, this buffet, in my opinion is the best in town. Sure, the Lotus Blossom (doesn’t exist anymore), and the Torrington Super Buffet both appear to have a larger selection but the quality is far from that of China Star. The pepper chicken and lo mein, to name a couple, are much, much better at China Star. I will concede that, at certain off peak times the food can be slightly lacking and shows it’s age/​time spent out at the buffet. Being a smaller buffet they do not have the foot traffic to continually refresh every item out there. It’s also a welcome relief to not be hounded by the waitstaff. You get what you want and or need and it stops there. At both of the other buffets they are watching your every move, waiting for you to put that fork down so they can give you the bill and herd you out the door.

This place was absolutely horrible, a first time and the last. Nothing was fresh and nothing was even hot on the buffet. never ever again-​the owner should be ashamed.

Crappiest buffet in town.
Either drive across the parking lot & to the other side of KMart for Lotus Blossom, or go to the top of East Main St to the super buffet. This place is ghetto fabulous and complete crap.
