We went«kabrewing» here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and can’t say enough nice things about our experience. Kabrewing starts off on bikes and you hit a couple of great local microbreweries. You then get in kayaks and paddle through downtown Traverse City hitting 2 more microbreweries. It’s good exercise and helps burn off the fat from all of the beer you drink. You have plenty of time to relax at each stop, and the local staff at the microbreweries couldn’t have been nicer. I highly recommend kabrewing at the riv.

Fantastic!!! We had a wonderful time using their bikes and kayaks. My bike tire needed a little pumping but other than that the bikes were excellent. We also rented kayaks from them and had a fantastic time. mike made sure to give us pretty clear directions though the trail is not well marked farther down. We really loved it!!!

I took my 4 year old kayaking in the bay yesterday. I wasn’t sure how we’d do since I am not an avid kayaker. The wonderful staff assured me the kayaks they use are very stable in the waves. We received instruction on how to paddle and turn. We stayed within 100 ft of the shore. The waters are 7 to 10ft deep and crystal clear. We found out after our adventure that the water was 46 degrees. Several people were on the beach. Next to the beach is a water playground which is much warmer for kids to play in than Lake Michigan. They also have an open air eatery. Kayaking and playing in this area is a highlight of our trip. It was $ 35 for a double kayak for one hour. At this price and the amount of fun we had, I would love to go again.

Great business! The owner is a stand-up guy that really gives the place a chill, carpe diem vibe and encourages everyone to have a great time and take in everything that TC has to offer. We took the 2 hour kayak trip that started at Logan’s Landing. The last leg of the course, reaching Lake Michigan, was the best. The water was so clean and icy cold, given that it was late May. Totally worth it!

Went and rented a stand up paddle board for an hour after work, it cost $ 25 which I think is very reasonable. The location is great, right in clinch park. The staff is very friendly and looking to make sure you have a good time out in the water. We got a couple minute instruction on the various ways to use the paddle board and were sent off. I will probably be renting a board from them again next summer.

Nice work, riv! This is exactly what nor MI is about — the outdoorsy stuff. SUP the boardman if you’re feeling adventurous, or kayak around west bay if you are feeling relatively lazy. Then rent a bike and trot around like a tourist and love TC all the more. They will lead you in the right directly depending on what you are looking for and often have great deals on UpNorth Live & facebook. Not to mention the money location they have at Clinch Park. Go get on it/in it!

This guy has a great business! Slammed. Great gig going… reasonable pricing. Safe bikes. Checking out with the bikes was a bit delayed but remember it is the holiday week and he did a good job given the crowds. Personable. Great option when in TC!

Great location in the heart of downtown Traverse City for bike or kayak rentals and a snack at the concession stand.
