Lovely little place! Very clean with everything you need for a quick visit to Acadia. Walking distance to several good lobster places and about a mile from a grocery(IGA) that has virtually anything you may need. No closer to the road than any other cottages on the way to the park. Our stay was delightful! I will stay here again.

The wife and I stayed 1 night in one of their cottages we didn’t get there till 9pm and left early the next day so it was a short visit but besides that we were happy with the stay. The room was small and bathroom was tiny but they do have a coffee pot microwave and a fridge which I’ve stayed in big hotels that don’t offer those items. It’s very convenient having your car right next to the cottage and having a bench right outside your door for the smokers to sit overall I’d stay here again maybe a little longer next time

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our nice little room in the main building, above the front desk. It suited our needs just fine. Seeing the cottages made me want to stay in one of them, but it’s not like we were«home» much of the time anyway, so the economy room was good for a two-night stay where most of our visit would be spent elsewhere. It was a little off putting to read all the rules about how their rags can be used and what you’re allowed to eat in the place, but I suppose looking back on it is more funny than annoying. We took advantage of the wi-fi, which wasn’t great, but wasn’t terrible either.

Out main reason for the visit was to hike Acadia and visit Bar Harbor. With that being said, I wish we would have stayed closer to where we planned to visit. When visiting this area, you will notice there are a lot of choices for people to stay that appear closer and larger than these ones that were rather comparable to the price we had paid. We had a pleasant experience while we were here. The rooms/cottages are very small, but we git two people comfortably. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful, but if I visit again, I would choose somewhere else to stay.

What a lovely little cottage! Some friends and I were visiting during the busy Columbus Day weekend, when pretty much every hotel/motel/cottage was booked, but Isleview had one single cottage available so we got it. The lady over the phone was very friendly and helpful and gave me instructions on how to get the keys since I’d be arriving after the office closed. The cottage was small — of course — but was actually much more spacious than I expected. For the bargain price of $ 65/night, I was expecting a bed and nothing else, but there was a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ice/drink bucket, and some basic toiletries in the bathroom, plus plenty of towels. We had cabin #5 and the sink in the bathroom took forever to drain and the space heater was a little loud and sputtery, but aside from that, I really liked the cabin. Simple yet had everything we needed. Nearly every other place we called was at least $ 100. We were in at 10:30pm and out at 5:30am to see the sunrise at Mt Cadillac, so I can’t comment on the breakfast(or the functionality of the coffee maker or microwave, as we didn’t use them), but it was more than suitable for a cheap, quick night’s rest.

Cabin # 6 was off level enough to cause vertigo. It was old and dated inside with dollar general store faucets in the shower, it took took 10 minutes to get the shower adjusted. There was no stove or oven(unlike our next cottage) only a microwave and fridge. There was not enough room for a table inside but a table outside with no cover worthless in the rain. It was very loud because it is on the road and close to the airport as well. We found other cabins closer to town both larger and newly updated with full kitchens for the same price. I think the folks who own this place are nice, however it’s overpriced for comparable lodging.

We stayed at Isleview as it was the cheapest place we could find. While I wouldn’t necessarily not stay here again, I’d be inclined not to as our room smelled very mildewy. We left the windows open and turned the heat on, and the smell went down a lot, but it was pretty intolerable. Other than that, it was a decent motel and cabin company. The breakfast was meh, and there wasn’t anything beyond a television for entertainment, but if you’re on a budget it may be fine for you!

The single cabins are right out of Alice in Wonderland, BEFORE she had the potion that said«drink me.» They are tiny! The bed takes up most of the floor space, and navigating the room takes a coordinated dance. That said, the cabin was CLEAN and the bed COMFORTABLE, and that’s what we cared most about. Another reviewer spoke about the«continental breakfast.» I’d just add that it was absolutely NOT appropriate for someone on a gluten-free diet.

Isleview is a very good budget motel for people who are not picky and don’t plan to spend much time there. — The rates were very good. We got 3 people in a suite for $ 85 during foliage season. It had 3 beds and one was in a separate room allowing for some couples/parental privacy. The fridge and microwave worked and were very clean. In fact, everything in the room was very clean and well cared for. — We made reservations online only a week in advance and had no trouble. We arrived late, so called ahead and they left the keys in a mailbox for is. Checkout simply consisted of returning the keys. — Walls are VERY thin. So it can make for some awkward evenings, if you know what I mean. And in the morning the neighbors can be loud — especially if they have children. — We had little interaction with staff, so can’t comment on that. — The television made us all laugh. The web site advertised«flat screen TVs». Yes, it’s flat but it is also smaller than my computer screen. We didn’t mind as we don’t watch TV, but I can’t see how anyone could enjoy it — especially since it is across the room from the beds and chairs. — The continental breakfast was also funny. It consisted of generic brand bread, powdered donuts and honey muffins bought at the grocery store and just laid out on a table still in their packages. There is no milk or juice or tea or hot chocolate — just coffee and a gallon of Sunny D juice-like substance. So if you have kids you’re out of luck. They did have a toaster you could use with a tub of fake butter substitute and some jelliy. No muffins, cereal, fruit or anything else you’d expect with a continental breakfast. Again, we didn’t expect any breakfast at all so didn’t mind. But you should be aware since they advertise a continental breakfast on this Unilocal entry. — And what’s the deal with the name? There is no view of any«isle». In fact, on their web site it says«NOVIEWOFTHEWATER», which makes me think they got in trouble in the past for the misleading name of the motel. It’s a sad way to trick Internet reservations. — A friend stayed in one of the $ 50 rooms and it was fine. It was indeed very small(just a bed and shower), but it was advertised as such so no problem. Overall, we would stay there again. If all you need is a place to crash and shower then this is a great bargain. If you want more of the vacation experience or some privacy, then we don’t recommend Isleview.
