Best stout on nitro around! Their Mocha Java stout is so creamy and rich and very tasty and is probably my favorite stout on tap. The food is pretty good too and the prices are fair for what you get especially since your getting fresh beer that is brewed right there behind the restaurant.

Barrio is an awesome space near downtown. Parking can get a little difficult during peak hours, but there is always plenty of seating. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is awesome if you wanna bring the dogs. Most everything I’ve tried on the menu is good. I mostly go for burgers, but they’re happy hour and appetizer menu is also good. The beer here is always the big draw. I always like coming here to have a year-round brew and check out the seasonal offering on the board.

It was a bit difficult to find at night, but overall this place is pretty neat. They have plenty of beer to choose from. I didn’t try any of the food as we came only for the booze, but we were not disappointed with what we got.

Great local place to take friends. Had a blast here playing shuffleboard and drinking their delicious porter. Haven’t really had any of their food except a couple wings(which were good), but I’ve been to their sister bar, Gentle Ben’s and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here again. I just wish they stayed open later.

The ONLY reason why I gave it 2 stars… the service is S-L-O-W! The food, beer and atmosphere is fantastic… yet if you want your food or drink… prepare to wait A LONGTIME! OR the food that comes out for your friends arrives earlier than yours :(

I still like this place but I see the building cleanliness going decidedly down hill… makes me wonder how far the filth and shortcuts are going within the business as a whole… the restrooms are in a state of filth and the restroom doors have a black scum on them ewwwe really? Come on ya all can do better!

I lived in Tucson all throught the 90’s and early 00’s. Where was this stuff back then? I was in town recently on a dog rescue mission so nothing better than a dog friendly bar. Good beer good service and food was good.

We were passing through Tuscon and thanks to fellow Unilocalers, we decided to try this place. As someone not familiar with the area, I thought we were lost when we followed directions to get here. It’s tucked away by the railroad and at night, can seem like it’s in the middle of nowhere. We were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of beer and food they had. The industrial décor is really fitting too. We ordered: Chips & Salsa — delicious, very fresh and spicy! Sonoran Dog — $ 2.95 might seem suspicious at first but WOW, makes for a great snack and definitely a Tuscon classic. You can even add fries for $ 1.00! Barrio Blonde, Barrio Blanco, Raspberry Ale and Rae’s IPA(yes we were thirsty!) — all amazing. The service was attentive and friendly. She knew we were from(way) out of town and recommended some great places to check out. Overall, I’m glad we gave this place a try to add to our Tuscon experience!

So we were invited here for a surprise birthday for one of my boyfriend’s co-workers and it was a blast. I loved the beer selection I started off with the raspberry ale it was really good. The barrio blonde was a hit with me as well. We started with a spinach artichoke dip that was awesome it was served in a bread bowl the only downfall was that it was only hollowed out a bit so we scarfed down the dip and still had a plate full of chips left with no more dip. I also had the chicken tacos they were seasoned well. I’m sure I’ll be back nice environment, great beer and decent enough food to keep me coming back!

Barrio is one of the original Tucson craft brewers. They have an incredible space, whether you are hosting a large group, or ponying up to the bar. Barrio is also a complete restaurant, with excellent food(fish tacos, and tequila cilantro wings please), and terrific beer. I hold Barrio separate from some of the bottle shops in town because they do offer«full-service» versus food truck, and are very passionate and knowledgeable about their beer. Great patio for grabbing a beer, and they always welcome Fido.

Barrio is my default place to go for food, beer and to watch sports. It has an industrial feel but decorated with some led lights, which I love. There are two sides and they open the second one only on busy nights. The second side has a fabulous(metal) tree in the middle of the room and other really interesting décor. The only downside is the lighting is low and its kind of dark inside — mood lighting to some or dreary to some. My favorite beer is to mix the Hefe and the Raspberry. Delish! The food is pretty decent, especially for a brewery. My favorite is the Touch of Grey sandwich. Lots of mushrooms and peppers with balsamic. The service can be slow at times, but overall not too shabby.

Rojo red beer and Greek burger, beer battered fries… Tina at the bar… great way to celebrate my BFF! First time at Barrio Brewing, will definitely return to this spot. Very mixed gathering place, outdoor seating may also be enjoyable… train watching too!

I’ve been here several times already. They obviously brew their own and also have a great selection of crafts. We usually get chips and Salsa to munch on first. I really like their raspberry beer because I’m a fan of fruity beers as you’ll see if you read more of my reviews. My boyfriend hated it though. Lol. I always order the popper burger and it always hits the spot! I just love the addition of the cream cheese on burgers. It cuts the spice of the peppers. Yum! Service is always excellent. I must add that although the building is charming(very industrial) it is also super old and decays before your eyeballs. Not sure if this is intentional or what.

Stopped Barrio Brewing with my coworkers a few nights ago and I was thoroughly impressed. I’ve had many of their beers but never actually visited the restaurant. The place is a little difficult to find at first because it’s located in an old…(hangar?)(warehouse?) which kind of adds to the hip, rustic ambiance of the place. Barrio offers a pretty extensive variety of beers, much more than I knew they had. It’s kind of nice that they have a huge chalkboard in the back of the restaurant with all of their options available, visible and easy to read from anywhere in the restaurant. We stopped in for happy hour and had the opportunity to try a few appetizers including the potato skins, wings, and some sort of southwest egg roll. The southwest egg roll was really well done, and the wings had a great sauce to them. We also tried some sonoran hot dogs and were not disappointed. Barrio is a great local brewery with plenty of delicious food options as well as an extensive beer selection. I would rank Barrio up there with Dragoon in terms of quality, their IPA, porter, and blonde are all some of my favorite local brews. I’d definitely recommend Barrio for happy hour or to watch a game.

Stopped in after 600 miles on the road. Grapefruit IPA was very good, and the wife was grooving on their Belgian style wheat. The stout on nitro was like having a latte with alcohol. And the raspberry ale was mighty fine. Food was a nice, but not great, compliment to the brews. Vibe was neighborhood casual and the staff were awesome. We got bumped off our table due to a birthday party rolling in with a reservation. The manager picked up the first round. Even if he hadn’t done that, I’d have been a fan. If we lived in Tucson, this would be a go-to place.

What a fun spot to come and hang with friends and family, either to have a beer(s), watch what’s on the tube, and maybe to even try your hand at a game of shuffle board! Met family that was in town for a lunch at Barrio Brewing, and had the pleasure of being waited on by Ivey. She was friendly, efficient and gave some candid recommendations on the food options. I went straight for the Diane burger, an apparent Tucson favorite. Gussied up with mushrooms, onions with swiss cheese, made this guy pretty happy. For beverages, dabbled(twice) with the Barrio Rojo, a smooth red ale straight from the back of the property. Solid spot, would definitely visit again.

Order the Lizzie salad. You won’t regret it. If you want to be as cool as me, order a Copperhead with it. They do not go well together, but I still do it anyways. Because I’m a badass nonconformist. Chill patio that is WAYTOOHOT for like 8 months of the year. Specials on pints when the train is going by(since it’s RIGHT on the tracks). SUPERBEAUTIFUL wrought iron work in both sides of the place… I’ve heard rumors that one of the owners does it as a hobby. Definitely great to look at while you’re eating. No air conditioning… swamp cooling only. Avoid during monsoon season. Good service most of the time; slow service at other times. They’ll rent/refill growlers and they definitely cooperate with local businesses/organizations that need kegs for events… WAYTOSTAYLOCAL, BARRIO! Barrio makes me glad I live in Tucson.

I don’t think I will be rushing to come back here. The food was ok, I love that it’s right on the railroad tracks, the beer was delightful, but man, that service was something else. Maybe I came on an off night? I don’t know. But our service was nearly nonexistent. We drove up and I fell in love. It’s got a really industrial, small town, hidden gem sort of feel to it. The train rolls by right outside, and there is something really nostalgic about it. The inside is just the same. Industrial chic, even if it is pretty dark, a great bar, a great layout, I was a really big fan of the outside and inside of this place! Then we sat. And sat. And waited. And finally some guy came up to us and asked what we wanted to drink. We didn’t realize that the beers were listed on the wall, and the guy didn’t bring us menus, so it took us a moment to figure it out. Husband went with the Rojo and I had a flight. The flights are no longer 102 oz pours, but 45 oz pours. I went with the Blonde, the Blanco IPA, the Stout and the NCA Ale. Halfway through our drink order, our guy just left and another guy took his place, so we got to repeat ourselves. When I ordered the NCA Ale, the guy told me it was a really strong brew. I told him that that was fine, then he ran off as my husband was asking for a glass of water. Mid sentence, just turned on his heel and power-walked away. Husbands beer came out a few minutes later, and my flight came out a long time after. It got to the point where we were wondering if my drinks had been forgotten. Finally, my flight came out, and we got the spinach artichoke dip, I got the White Out burger and husband got the Bang Bang Burger. I got mine medium well and he got his medium rare. The dip came out, and I will agree with the reviews on here. It was delicious! It comes out in this bread bowl with tortilla chips, and it is creamy and tangy and yummy! If I do ever return I will order this! My beers were good, too. My favorite was the Java Stout, but they were all really yummy, and they definitely have a beer for everyone’s taste, whether you like the super light beers, or the super stouts like me. Our burgers came out and they were both cooked exactly the same; well done. Look, I get it, it’s a thin patty and hard to cook to order, but then why bother giving me an option if you can’t? Both of our burgers were fine, so we didn’t complain. I didn’t like mine, but I’m chalking it up to my taste. I didn’t get much of the white cheddar or vinegar flavor, but the Bang Bang Burger was worth ordering again. One thing I did think was interesting, though, was that they have the exact same burger as one on the Gentle Ben’s menu, the Peggy-O. Same name, same burger, same everything. I’m not sure if they are owned by the same people, and I’ve only been to Gentle Ben’s once so I have no idea why I remember this, but I do. I’m not sure I will return here. The food and beer was nice, but the service was just so off putting. May come back in a few months and see if it’s different.

We visited Barrio on the Saturday evening after the Book Festival. The parking lot was packed, which had me a little worried, but the restaurant is huge inside. There were numerous tables available. Unfortunately, we had about a 10 – 15 minute wait just to get menus and initial service, but things were okay after that slow start. My husband ordered the beer flight, which he enjoyed immensely. We ordered the beer sponges and the chips and salsa. The beer sponges were AWESOME. Fresh and perfect. The nuclear mustard was especially good – my husband typically hates mustard, but I convinced him to try it and he was surprised and kept eating it after that. The chips were likewise very fresh and delicious, though the salsa was meh. I ordered a margarita and was disappointed that it tasted like a mix, pure and simple. I wouldn’t order it there again. I had the half Lizzie salad, which turned out to be huge! The overall flavor was great, though it was pretty heavy on onions and bell peppers. It was easy to just eat some and dodge the excess. I was still quite pleased with the salad. My husband had The Western. He thought it was okay, and the fries were seriously good. It was Pi Day, and we were sad Barrio did not carry pie. Alas. Overall, a good experience. We’d go there again whenever we return to Tucson.

Thank you Unilocal! After hours & hours on the road with the west coast sun beating down on us through the car… we were in desperate need of some cool air & refreshments! Dog friendly, casual, & bar food. We were sold. We seated ourselves on the patio. Decent bar menu. Even better beer selections for you beer lovers. I just hate they couldn’t do a Moscow Mule or didn’t have their pear beer in stock. I was curious to try it. Ordered the tequila cilantro wings our server suggested. Pulled pork sandwich & the half sandwhich/soup combo. The food was a little above average… Which was fine with us. We just needed a rest & something on our stomachs. This place did just that. Nothing outstanding. Reasonably priced hang out spot. Yall are cool with me. Thanks Tucson!
