Consistently the best food! Ambiance is a bit divey, but it keeps it way more chill. The young coconuts are delicious!

After lunch, I attempted to pay. Do I have cash, I’m asked. This doesn’t sound promising. I indicate a preference for paying with my check card. I’m told that it will be an additional $ 0.50(applicable to payments less than $ 10.00) if I want to use that card. I ask where this is posted. Perhaps I missed it. Guy comes back and says he’ll «let it slide this time.» Apparently he takes me for a fool. I ask him if he would like me to call Visa and inform it that this merchant is violating its terms of service by charging improper convenience fees. I made sure to follow through on my threat.

I often go here when I’m craving authentic, spicy Chinese food. All of the individuals that work here seem very nice and do their best to make sure the customers are kept happy. Andy, one of the waiters, is absolutely great. He remembered me on my second visit(months later), even to the extent of remembering my major! The food is served within a reasonable amount of time. The food is great in every way. Every dish I have ordered has left me quite happy, but my favorite will always be the water-boiled fish. I recommend ordering from the Chinese menu if you want a real, authentic meal. All of the dishes are reasonably priced as well. All in all, this place has superb service and amazing food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in Tucson.

Most authentic Szechwan in Tucson. The execution and ingredient quality were a cut above the usual too. Definitely.

Service lacks. No one is at the front during lunch hour on a weekday. I imagine they’d do more business if someone was there to greet and seat. Oh well. Folks seem to come in and seat themselves. Food looks tasty and plentiful however and portions look large. Perhaps that’s how they make up for bad service at the front.

Quiet today. And I got a table. Hot & sour soups yummy. I came here to try Genreal Tso chicken. It’s style was not what I was looking for but the server gave me some additional chile sauce to liven it up Service friendly and prompt.

I just«Liked» this restaurant. My wife loved it. It really depends what food you are looking for. This is more akin to a traditional Chinese restaurant, so you won’t find any of the American Chinese food staples here(I’m looking at you chicken wings!). I’m more of a «fake» Chinese food connoisseur, so this place didn’t do much for me. Service was great and speedy.

I have always known it would take a great restaurant to inspire me to write a Unilocal review again. China Szechwan, why haven’t I found you sooner? After craving roasted pork for days on days, I decided to call around locally for a place that serves this amazing dish. Fortunately, I discovered China Szechwan. I would describe it as Panda Express meets Gee’s Garden. You get the freshness of a Chinese restaurant but the chill ambience of a fast food joint. Quality and taste of my dish exceeded my expectations. Service was also fast and friendly. Prices are just right. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu. As for now, I highly recommend the roasted pork and their sweet and sour soup. Happy eating!

I enjoyed a wonderful tasting dinner at this restaurant tonight. Friendly and accommodating staff with the best«sweet & sour» soup I have ever had!!! I wish this restaurant was in my neighborhood at home, can’t say enough for how good all of our dishes were. Not one morsel left behind. ..

This place is really great. They always give us some orange or tangerine freshly picked for no extra charge. We get the twice cooked pork, so spicy and tasty and tender. I’ve also had the beef soup dish which is equally as good. The scallion pancakes are to die for, just so crispy and light. They get pretty busy on the weekends and the wait can be pretty brutal sometimes. But it’s definitely worth it. This isn’t your ordinary Chinese restaurant. The staff always makes sure to greet us with friendly smiles and make sure that we are well taken care of.

Stopped in for take-out lunch. I ordered the garlic cucumbers, szechwan green beans, chicken noodle soup, and salt and pepper tofu. Everything was good. Even though the chicken noodle is on the cold dish menu, it’s a hot soup. Simple but tasty. The salt and pepper tofu was the stand out dish. The szechwan green beans had nothing szechwan about them, but delicious none the less. Garlicy, crisp green beans that are stir fried. I enjoyed the garlic cucumbers but be warned-it’s straight up garlic. If you’re not down, don’t order it! Excited to try other dishes next time.

I come to China Szechwan 2 – 3 times per month(If I lived closer, it would be more). In fact, it is now the only Chinese restaurant that I go to anymore because I am so spoiled. I have never had a meal here that was not absolutely delicious. I hereby dub thee, «Best Asian Restaurant in Tucson.» You have a customer for life. One thing to take away from my reviews of China Szechwan is that this isn’t your average Chinese restaurant. It is much different than what you may expect. What I am saying is that it is not so Americanized as the typical American Chinese Eatery. It’s more in line with what they actually serve in China. This will become evident seeing the large number of real Chinese people who frequent this place. The Chinese KNOW what real Chinese/Szechwan food should taste like. The best word to describe China Szechwan is «Authentic.» If you are one who cannot handle«authentic» you will never find happiness here and should stay far, far away. If you are one of those who believe that Panda Express is the«gold standard» of Chinese food and quick service, you should never patronize this establishment. The fine people at China Szechwan work their hearts out seven days per week(for you). Petty complaints that you were not served fast enough during the the busiest lunchtime hours just make the people that do that look small. Real chefs work here and they(and the staff) can get overwhelmed during certain times of the day. So, if you intend to try this restaurant, please plan accordingly. You’ll save yourself and all of the wonderful people who work here a lot of heartache and stress.

Excellent food! General Taos is one of the best in town, everyone had their fork in my plate :) Eggrolls are flavorful and crisp and the best I’ve had in a long time. Took fried rice home to my granddaughter who is is completely spoiled by one Chinese restaurant that closed down, she said it is almost as good as that place… that is very high praise. One of us even ordered a plate to take home and eat later in the week, the waitress was kind enough to explain it would be soggy later and not as good, took it home anyway but with sauce on the side to prevent that. Lunch menu is good on the weekend AND they have the same wonderful almond cookies that Lotus Garden has! Not sure how anyone found reason to give a negative review, all I can say is, try again!

Chinese food, ordered out egg fu yung. The sauce(gravy) was thin, and there were three patties with the combination of shrimp, chicken, and pork. It came with white rice, overall it was pretty good. Was it the best Chinese take out I have ever had? No. But it definitely served its purpose for what I wanted. It was relatively close to my house and if I wanted Chinese again, I would definitely order from here again, I just want to try something different. By the way, you definitely get an authentic experience coming to China Szechwan. SOLID!

Came here for lunch, and I couldn’t believe I have to wait 1.5 hr for just 3 dishes — 1 meat dish &2 veggie dishes, one of them is just like a Chinese appetizer(which is extremely easy to prepare)!!! I cook Chinese food myself, I don’t understand why it took such a long time to prepare those while there weren’t so many people waiting. The food was just so so, and it was the worst dining experience I ever had in Tucson! One of the waitresses was super impolite cause she tried to stick around and watch me putting my tip(I did still give some). I won’t recommend this place to anyone! Will never ever come back again!!!

Dude. YES. People coming here for standard(American) Chinese food takeout are missing out big time. You will be handed two menus — order from the smaller one, not the bigger generic one! I just got here from NY(via a year in Seattle) and was concerned that all the good Asian food would be hard to find. The jury is still out on that but my spice-loving palate was very very pleasantly surprised with the level of heat in these dishes. I’m definitely not the most precise on deciding authentic vs non-authentic Sichaun fare but I really liked the dried red chili peppers and huajiao in my dish, which was some kind of fried lamb(shang chao yang rou). $ 15.99 was a bit much for this but a huge amount of rice was included so I’ll get over it. Jing Jiang Rou Si strikes a strong balance between heat and leaving your insides intact and is now my regular dish(can’t say the same about the Chongqi chicken). Sichuan-style cold noodles are good to start but I’d stay away from the dandan noodles here.

Nice people. They have a large staff. She said they are normally quite busy when students are in session. They kept checking on me repreatedly = nice. The setting is very simple with a some Chinese decorations. I took a couple of fun photos. The pot stickers were super thick rice paste almost like a tamale with tons of masa. I took the last 2 and tore off the excessive dough. The sauce was mixed there and was rather nice. I ordered the cashew chicken. I paid an extra dollar for more vegies. It was a huge serving. It had a good dark, rich flavor. Nice crunch to the vegies and the chicken was real with good texture and flavor. I had tons to take home for 2 more meals. The«fried» rice was just rice with soy sauce — no egg, no vegies, no pork. Overall it was a Salty Dog — wow, so much soy sauce that my mouth burned a bit. I had read such rave reviews on here and I was really looking forward to this meal. For me … ah not so much. It was freshly prepared but the excessive salt was turn off. I did try the Adzuki bean Boba as recommended and it was quite delightful. I will pass on eating there again but I will go next door for the Boba drink treat. I will call to see if I can order light or no salt …
