Scoped out the new, much larger, location. Seated right away around 6p on a Thursday. Still, the bar was full and a good number of diners in the dining room. The new location is a stadium compared to the slightly-cramped feel of the old spot. Our server was very friendly. She told us they were working out a few kinks(maybe with staff?) but business was doing well. Went through the menu and was very thorough(almost too thorough.) Between my friend and I, we split a caesar salad and the three-mushroom pizza. The salad was a good-sized portion that came with a bit of crostini. The pizza arrived shortly after the salad. I’ve had this particular kind before, but don’t recall the pizzas ever being that large, or thick(especially the crust). Not that that’s a bad thing. The prices are a bit steep, so at least it’s a good quantity/quality pizza. The only small criticisms I have are 1) the amount of oil pooled on top of the pizza. Almost as if they’d drizzled extra olive oil after baking. But, the pizza is still as good as it was at the old place. 2) They only have a late-night happy hour(8p-close), but I’m usually in bed by 10. Consider a mid-afternoon/right-after-work happy hour(4−7p, 5−7p) and I’ll happily plunk down for a pizza and a few beers. That aside, will definitely continue getting my wood-fired pizza from here.

We went to Scordato’s for the first time a few nights ago, and we will definitely be back. We were sat right away, and the hostess was very friendly. We weren’t sure what to expect after seeing the look of the restaurant and the menu, so we mentioned to our waiter(Patrick M.) that we had never been before. He did an amazing job of explaining the menu, making suggestions of what and how to order and generally providing stellar service. And the food! We started with the fried fresh mozzarella(at our waiter’s suggestion), which was delicious, and then split the three mushroom pizza and the salad with arugula and asparagus. Guys, this was the best(BEST) salad I’ve ever eaten in my life. The pizza was really good, and let me tell you, they are not shy about those mushrooms. We finished off with the lemon & berry bread pudding, which was just unreal, and our tablemates had the chocolate molten mousse cake(can’t remember what it was called), which was also delicious and decadent. And big servings of both desserts — definitely made to share. If you’ve been driving by and thinking maybe you should give this place a try, the answer is a resounding YES. Don’t wait. Go now.

When they were in their previous location, I had good experiences. This time, was awful. Our group took nearly 2.5 hours to be seated. And when we were waiting on the patio to be seated inside, we were told we could not sit outside, despite a number of chairs on the patio. One of the folks in our groups has MS and uses a walker with a seat on it. When she sat on the walker outside, she was quickly chastised by the wait staff for sitting outside. So, she had to sit inside with a few folks while the rest of us waited outside for a table. Waitstaff told us for over an hour a table was being cleared for us, and it should be ready in 15 minutes. This went one for approximately 1.5 hours. This, along with overpriced drinks, was a sore disappointment. No apologies, nor any mitigation appeared to have taken place by their staff. The kicker about all of this, is that it was a going away party for a co-worker that beat a particularly aggressive form of cancer that she shouldn’t have survived. Many of us left early, myself included. I’m not willing to give any money to a business that treats their customers so poorly will not be getting any of my money. This was a disappointing experience.

Food and wines are amazing, incomparable thin crust, pizza. Best in town. Loved that I could practice my crappy Italian if the owner was around, which he usually was. One of my top 2 or 3 Tucson restaurants. Very sadly, the new location has turned me off completely. It is like an Applebees style building in the middle of a parking lot. Zero charm. Zero appeal. The former location was small, funky shaped spaces, I loved it! I’m having trouble loving the new Scordato’s. Maybe I will just get them for take out.

This place is nice! We started off with the Fried Fresh Mozzarella and it was an interesting take on Mozzarella sticks. Then we just sipped our beers and chatted, thats when the server came over and told us there was a problem with our pizza(the accidentally burned it) and he was sending the manager over to talk to us. She came over and informed us of the delay as well and that if we told our server he would get us dessert(on the house). That was so nice of the offer and if we weren’t so full from dinner we would have took her up on that offer. When the pizza came it was delish, we ordered the Sausage and Roasted Cipollini Onions and yummy! we will go back!

I’ve been to Scordatos ages ago in their old location. The food wasn’t memorable and thus we never gone back. Was really exciting to try their new place since we’ve been hearing good things but I had the same experience. The food isn’t great and I’m confused by their ratings. Makes me wonder how credible some Unilocalers are =\. The service was fine and the grape salad was really good. That was the highlight. I would go back for the salad.

As many know by now, Scordato’s finally made the move from St. Philips Plaza to the former Mr. K’s BBQ on Stone and River. In this move, Scordato’s has lost the cozy neighborhood feel I loved so much. It feels more like a chain. That said, the food has not it’s flavor. The antipasto platter is still delicious. As mentioned in my previous update, my go-to pies are the Shrimp and Pesto, as well as the pizza with soppressatta/pepperoni and the zucchini with eggplant and red peppers. Scordato’s is probably my favorite pizza in town for take out. It keeps well and doesn’t get soggy.

We used to come here fairly regularly before they moved to Stone and River. Paid them our first visit today in their new location. I like the new digs, but they need to clean the floor a little better. The bar area is very spacious and attractive — I can see myself coming here when the spouse it out of town for a pizza and a beer in the bar. Doesn’t quite have the«cozy» charm the old location had, but much easier to get to and far better parking. First time for lunch, we always came for dinner. Opted for the 12″ Robiola, Fontina and Mozzarella Cheese pizza. The crust was wonderful as always, more mushrooms than I expected, but fewer olives(I’m a salt freak). My wife had the eggplant parm which she thought was very good, as was the asparagus salad one of our companions had. The 12″ pizza was too much for lunch, took 2 pieces home in a box for lunch tomorrow :-) So far they haven’t lost their mojo from the old location, something that too many places do. Keep up the good work!

Went there for lunch and was delighted to find this pizzeria. I’d heard of it but never visited the original location which was apparently much smaller than this place. My wife and I each had the lunch special of a salad and 6 inch pizza. I didn’t measure them but they were a LOT larger than 6 inches. The salad was large and wonderfully dressed. The pizza were yummy. I had sausage and onions and my wife the pepperoni. The crust was crisp and sauce a little sweet but I loved it. Service was steady and not overbearing. I was not asked 10 times how«it tasted». I’m sure you all know what I mean. LOL If you’re in the area of the Tucson Mall definitely give it a try. The Food Man loves it. Chow for Now :)

I used to like the other location… this one was not good. What happened to the happy, friendly dark curly hair guy that used to run the old location? We were in the breezeway near the kitchen entrance. We kept getting smells of something BAD… like sewage? Tallow storage? Ew. Also got to hear some salty language from the kitchen/servers… super fun with two kids in tow. Drink order took forever, for just beer and wine. I ordered the Grilled pork over noodles. What I got the first time was like Pork and pasta soup… it was WHACKED. The server said, oh yeah, it’s not supposed to look like that(wonder why it left the kitchen, then)… and took it away. Brought it back ‘corrected’ and it was a kinda mushy pulled pork with salad stuff on top and pasta. It wasn’t grilled and was not good either. Luckily, they took it off the bill. The pizza that the kids got was good enough… It was not a high end experience… for a kinda pricy pizza place. The décor/place lacks elegance and ‘muchness’.

We were driving by and saw Scordato’s Pizzeria had a new location on River/Stone, so we popped in for dinner. We shared a pepperoni pizza, which was simply awesome. The crust was perfect — not too thin, and not too thick. And there was a lot of pepperoni on that pizza — way more than I expected. I ate 2 slices and was stuffed, while my hubby ate the other 4 slices and could have eaten 1 or 2 more. I really like the new location, as there is plenty of parking and the tables are not right on top of each other. In fact, they could add a few more tables and I think there would still be enough room to be comfortable, because it’s a BIG space. We got there around 5 pm, and it was already busy. By the time we left, there was a line of people waiting to be seated, so be sure to go early.

We tried the new location 4 days after they opened. Maybe that was the trouble. Out of a wine we ordered. Out of the appetizer we ordered. The pizza was tasty and the tomato mozzarella salad was fresh and good. The service was sub par. We heard the bartenders saying that they were slammed earlier in the day and the line was out the door. We will certainly go back though. They were trying but were just overwhelmed!

New Location sucks. Yes its large. But we still had to wait 40 minutes for a table on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm. The bathroom toilets do not flush properly as in there was still poop from the previous user stuck to the front of the toilet bowl and no matter how often you flush, it would not flush down because the water never gets there. The chairs are uncomfortable. They need more staff. The food was good but was lacking something this time. We left a few notes for the manager to give to the owner. Hopefully the suggestions are paid attention to. Husband used to love this place and now it will be a drag to get him here under any condition. We will see.

First visit at the new location for lunch. They did a nice job inside, considering it was once a Chili’s. The lunch menu is pretty small, but they will bring a dinner menu if you ask. We ordered a Caesar salad to split, and two 6-inch pizzas. They split the salad onto two plates in the kitchen, which made it less messy at the table. Also, the 6-inch pizzas are more like 8 inches. The salad was excellent. Perfectly dressed and the dressing is delicious. The pizzas are excellent as well. The crust is light and they get a good char on it. The sauce is full of tomato flavor. All-in-all, as good of a pizza as I’ve had in Tucson.

Failed move! This was my favorite pizza joint in Tucson. I found their pizza to be notch, starting with the dough. The outer crust comes out slightly burnt adding crunchness that contrasts well with delicious marinara sauce. I savor every bit of their crust. Often I order Margherita pizza with extra cheese so that I can enjoy a pizza in its rawest and simplest form! I also ask for extra sauce on the side! Great service! (April 5, 2016) Unilocaling Tucson comrades and I visited the new location. The new location is large, and parking is easy. However, due to poor acoustics(too many hard walls), it was difficult to carry on a conversation unless you were sitting next to each other. The ambience is completely different. Even though the pizza tastes as good, I can’t help but to miss the old cozy cute location.

I love this place. Have been here for lunch several times and never been disappointed. Their Bento Box has 4 choices for $ 12.95 and is fun and delicious(mine had Caesar salad, asparagus and prosciutto, warm chicken salad with mushrooms and fruit — fantastic). My friend had the Bento box with 4 entirely different choices and was equally impressed. For a salad — try their Warm Mushroom Salad — so unusual and so delicious and comes with fabulous garlic bread. They also have pizzas, sandwiches and other things for lunch. Someday, I’ll make it here for dinner! They’re moving soon — can’t wait to visit their new location which they say will be bigger and with an expanded menu.

SCORDATOS Report Card BARSERVICE. A+. AMBIANCE. B FOODSERVICE. A+. FOODQUALITY. C While the pizza was OK the sauce was bland. The grape, gorgonzola salad with crisp greens was perfection. The eggplant parmigiana was beyond disappointing. No seasoning at all and overburdened with melted cheese. Suggest the chef visit an Italian cook book or just remove the item from the menu. Should one choose this restaurant stick to the salad or pizzas and reward your servers.

We were taken care of well, opting to sit outside on a crowded night instead of waiting a half hour. This being said: the heaters outside are vanity items. Don’t trust that glowy orange grate on the wall. It’s not a fast meal to begin with, but we ended up making a bit of fun at how good at refilling water the team was. The pizza took its sweet time. I like to think it was earning its carbon stripes and toasting to chewy-crunchy perfection just for me. Between my friend and myself, we tried four flavors because if you’re accommodating of splitting my pie in two, I’m going to go with two. The multi-mushroom pizza is loaded with succulent, savory browned mushrooms with an herby flavor and some, but not a lot, of sharp cheese. The chicken meatball and ricotta, on the other hand, spread the creaminess of the ricotta and the slices of meatball over the whole surface of the pizza, making it a silky bite. The arugula had, well, heaps of arugula on top with cheese but not much, which was a little sad given it was billed with three different kinds. Plus, the cheese wasn’t the melty backdrop for the greens I had envisioned, but rather a sparse complement to the vegetable. I would opt for another choice if I did that one again. I didn’t try the sausage and onion personally, but my it was my friend’s favorite. We had enough to take home boxes, and enjoy breakfast the next day as you should with pizza: cold. I like the different flavor of it the next day. The crust dries out on you, though. We had gelato at the end of the meal, and the white chocolate tastes more like a sweet cream. It’s not vanilla, which is good, but there’s no cocoa buttery taste to it, either. The almond praline has little crunchy delight bits in the cream. And if you’re lucky enough to get the hot fudge sauce it’s a semi-sweet, thick, richness in a cup. I couldn’t convince myself of the fifth star, but maybe another foray into the brick oven is due.

Now this is an amazing pizzeria place I definitely recommend. Definitely a classy place. At first I was always wondering why one of my best friends kept coming here until I realize how amazing it was. It definitely has a nice romantic and classy feel and is a little hidden inside the St. Philip plaza but hey, great places are always hard to find right? The servers and bartenders here are super friendly and won’t hesitate to socialize with you. I two dishes I do recommend are the Antipasto and the Shrimp, Mozzarella and Pecorino Romano Cheese pizza. The Antipasto is definitely a great pairing dish with your wine. It includes mozzarella cheese balls, cheese, asparagus, and Italian meat. It’s a pretty big dish let me warn you. Sometimes I literally get full just of that. The shrimp pizza is definitely something to try. The shrimps are pretty big and I wouldn’t have guess it would go so well in pizza. The pizza has a pesto base sauce which always makes a good pairing with your wine. Also they have happy hour from 20:00 — 21:00 where every drink at the bar is half off. Yes even top shelf! So feel free to grab a bottle of wine, or an nice aged scotch for half the price! That’s a deal! I’d definitely return and would love to hear about your experience as well! «Taste it, Love it, Unilocal it!»

Used to be my favorite pizza place for last six years. I just don’t know how I can go back. The«mortadella…» pizza was my go-to, all-time fave. The last couple times, maybe over the last six months, cheese has all but disappeared from the pizza and the amount of salt has increased exponentially. I actually have to get up so many times in the night and drink gallons of water just to recover. I cannot eat that pizza anymore for health reasons and the absence of cheese makes it less, well, of a pizza really. And the crust seems less substantial than it used to be. On this pizza it seems like there may be an increased amount of salty pepperoni but less filling and flavorful(less salty) cheese and mortadella. The service is exceptional, and the owners are talented at providing a real dining experience, training their staff well and treating the customers like kings. They are phenomenal people. I’m sad that it’s not the same. Perhaps I could switch to another pizza, as their salads are still good, but tell me, where did the cheese go?

First: cozy and casual ambiance with comfy chairs! Second: promptly greeted and shown to our seats and efficient and pleasant staff Third: lunch menu was not expansive but interesting assortment of selections Fourth: my friend and I both chose the bento boxes which were fabulous. I had the green mix salad… Superb dressing on mix of rich lettuces with just a touch of hard cheese, incredible delicate asparagus lightly grilled and served on a bed of prosciutto with a dribble of balsamic glaze and eggplants Parmesan void of cliché breading and enveloped in a tangy sauce laced with melted cheese. Finally a white chocolate gelato drizzled with a raspberry sauce. Terrific. My friends chose the Caesar salad, the bruschetta, and a spinach and chicken cannoli and finished with the prosecco cheesecake. Both of us refrained from licking our plates but it was one of the best meals I have had in Tucson. I will be back. Very convenient parking as well.(I had been at the equine center of the University of Arizona so was towing my horse and trailer and found easy parking under a shade tree)!

Went here after checking recommendations from other Unilocalers and we were not disappointed. Great service from the friendly staff,(thank you wonderfully attentive waiter, Walter), and cute, efficient busboy whose name we didn’t catch. ;-) We had a large party of 8, with 5 kids, which can be a pain in the behind for a typical waitstaff, but these guys were pros, and helped everything go very smoothly. Spot on Caesar salads, and really delicious authentic pizza, brought to our table piping hot. Crispy crust, pizza sauce and sausage with great flavor, and you’ll want to save room for dessert. The gelato, cheesecake and chocolate cake were perfection. Glad we found this place! Already referred some family here. You won’t be disappointed if you give this place a try.

Pizza that I tried was a hit and miss. The 3 mushroom pizza with fonduta was a super hit. Creamy, earthy deliciousness. Maybe a tad on the greasy side. The shrimp pizza was a definite miss. I think I made a face when I first tried it. Sauce wasn’t good and the shrimp was slimy. Crust on the mushroom was perfect but the one on our shrimp was a bit burnt. I rarely get dessert but the cheesecake with lemon prosecco sounded super enticing. It was rich but well balanced with the sauce and blackberries it was served with. Would come back for select menu items.

Yum yum yum! Good pizza and great service! The fresh tomato and mozzarella were delicious and the caesar salad was perfectly dressed and spiced. The mushroom pizza was good, although shaved mushroom pizza would be better. The shaved parmesan pizza was a bit too salty for me. We got the sausage and mozzarella pizza, but substituted sausage for chicken meatball. This was good too, although a bit salty as well. The crust is amazing and pairs perfectly with the house pesto. Overall, very good and will come back to try more types of pizza.

Even though i’ve only tried their pizza to-GO i was still treated as if i were dining in! i opened my pizza box to find FRESHLY grated parmesan and olive oil in little containers, only the red peppers were pre-packaged! SOLID pizza crust, crispy but definitely not a thin crust, much heftier with a bite —½ robiola, fontina, mozzarella w/olives, mushrooms, & arugula. ½ prosciutto, fontina, mozzarella w/arugula & fresh tomato: the robiola with the roasted mushrooms was my favorite love how they let me order the pizza half/half so i could try more variety but i wish i tried a pizza with tomato sauce! NOTE: Pizza is NYC pricey but they use quality ingredients and you can snag a lunch deal for cheaper pizza

We decided to give this place a try based on the favorable reviews, and were glad we did. We went for lunch, and were initially puzzled over the 6 inch«pizzettes» that were listed… no larger pizzas seemingly available. When we asked the server, she told us that we could order off of the dinner menu and get a 12 inch pie, which is what we did. We went with a half and half of 2 of their featured pies, one which was made with proscuitto, arugula and fesh diced tomatoes, and the 3 cheese pie with mushrooms, kalamata olives and arugula. We shared a Caesar salad to begin. The salad was excellent… redolent of garlic and served with a wonderful parmesan croûton and a slice of warm bread. The pizzas were equally impressive, with a nice amount of toppings and really tasty crust. The pizza here is delicious, and I would be a regular if I lived in the area.

Scordatos is a Neapolitan style pizza restaurant. There’s no wood fired brick oven that we could observe, but the pizza was very good. After reading my friend Susan P’s review, we knew we had to come here. I guess her BF knows his pizza. We started off with two glasses of wine($ 7.50 each), one Cartidge & Brown Pinot, the other Montepulciano de Abruzzo Capestrano. Both were tasty and had no alcohol residue or bite Next we decided to split a Caesar for $ 5.50. Our server Nate was on top of his game all night and offered to serve it on two plates. Nice! Btw, he never let the water glasses stay empty for long and politely checked in from time to time. We ordered a ½ Margherita and ½ Sausage & Roasted Cipollini Onion pizza. It was great. The crust was perfect and the tomato sauce tasted very fresh. Thank you Susan(and Susan’s BF) for a great review and Tip! Our bill came to $ 39.26 including taxes, but before gratuities. We’ll be back. Enjoy!
