Came in to eat lunch order stake and some water. My friends food was burnt and when we ran out of water the server never came back even the manager passed by and ignored us.

Just got back from Village Inn Restaurant at Harrison/22nd street. The entire experience was underwhelming. As a matter of fact, the past 3 visits have been underwhelming. Three is charm; I don’t see myself going back in the near future. The restaurant was far from crowed but it took over 45 minutes to get our orders. We really didn’t need to worry about waiting for our food though; we could have just snacked off the food that was on the silverware! They brought us more and said they had just wrapped it. You could see the food between the prongs of the forks. The coffee was cold, the food was cold. The manager said he would come back to check to see how things were — He never came back. I believe he was afraid to. Everyone at the table just figured it was easier to eat the cold food than wait any longer. It had already been over 45 minutes. The waitress wasn’t rude, she just wasn’t that thrilled with all the complaints. Hey, they weren’t donating the meals to us – We were paying for what should have been warm food, served in a timely manner. No discount was offered for the cold food, despite making the waitress and the manager aware of the situation. I was thinking of scraping some of the food off the silverware and asking for a to-go box, though. I’m pretty easy to get along with but this was(as were the previous two visits), pretty over-the-top. They have REALLY gone down hill.

Came in with a group of ten for breakfast. They were busy, but seated us within minutes. We had several picky eaters and many substitutions on the orders. The staff nailed it! Excellent service, good food, and a great price. Thank you!

My husband and I go Friday nights for the All you can eat Fish fry. My husband says it’s the best fish fry. I get different items each time and they are all good. The service is fantastic. Our server is always Ann Marie and she delivers the best customer service I have ever received in a restaurant. This location is usually pretty busy and the food is quick and hot. I highly recommend this Village Inn

We ate there for the first time in 9 months. It has definitely gone down hill.

Food wasn’t very good, looked nothing like the picture. Pie was the highlight but when isn’t it. Service was terrible wish i wasn’t such a burden to take our order. Been here a few times and service is hit or miss same with food. Next time it’s just pie.

Well… used to come here regularly a couple years ago, finally went back yesterday. Loved the French toast! Breakfast is good, dinner dishes are enh, it’s okay. Lunch is typical. Don’t like the kids pasta, kids eat with their eyes and mines enjoy spaghetti. They just got horrible tasting, cold, pasta. I’ve tried a few of their slices of pies before and they are.good. Prices are typical. Do not like the water they serve, tastes/smells yucky! But Cashier, server, staff were very nice:)

Gross! The place stinks so bad. The servers were rude and the food was disgusting. The managers clothes were so dirty and he stunk. They use dirty cloths to clean their tables. DONTEATTHERE!!!

I go here often with friends for a meal, either get the VIB or the Fish and Chips. The servers are awesome and wish that they could the back of the house to work with the front of the house. Food quality is going down hill fast. Keep getting told new cooks, someone called out, we are short staffed. About 6 months ago food was amazing now your lucky if its lukewarm. And the excuses are always the same. May have to go back to Denny’s(barf) or IHOP. I wish that Brawleys hadn’t moved.

I used to like this place when it was first open. Over the years, it has really gone down hill. I had a problem with a visit once and complained to corporate and it was straitened out, so I gave it another chance. The last time was the last straw and I will not be going back and won’t bother the corporate office again. My wife and I went into the restaurant and ordered our food. All seemed normal. Then we got the food. Both our meals were overcooked on portions. Not so terrible that I couldn’t eat it, but overcooked just the same. My wife didn’t eat much of hers. We thought about sending them back but just decided to stew, our fault. Then, we ordered pie to go. Mine looked fine but my wife’s looked like they dropped it on the floor a couple times and very slightly brown bananas. She decided to take it home anyway. Well, big mistake. The banana cream pie tasted like it was spoiled. Was it left out for days and they didn’t want to throw it away? I don’t know but it sure seemed that way. I know I could have gone back and complained again and could have sent my meal back as well, but I am tired of complaining here. I just won’t give them my money any more.

By far the worst meal I have ever had. Will not be coming back. The staff was good but the food lacked.

We have come to this restaurant many times just as of late the service has gone down hill at least the server we had the last two times we’ve been there Erica. She is very friendly but not attentive at all! She came and took our drink order then came back to get our order my wife ordered a sandwich with Tomato Basil Soup it was covered with grease she brought her another bowl we had ¼ of a glass of our drink left she never once asked to refill, although all her other tables got refills! I don’t know if I will ever go back to Village Inn again maybe if I’m hard up for a place to eat if we do we will request not to sit in Erica’s section. There was a older blonde server with glasses she was real busy and it looked like she knew what she was doing.

Kelcy is one of the best waitresses in the restaurant. She is very courteous and always asks if I am good. Definitely will come back again.

I’ve been eating at this Village Inn since I moved to Tucson 4 years ago. I’ve always found the staff to be friendly for the most part and free pie Wednesday is of course our favorite day to dine here. For breakfast I almost always the VIB. The french toast is super yummy and I love that you can get breakfast all day long. The only thing that I really don’t advise ordering is the fish and chips. I only ordered that once and it was overcooked and greasy and hard and just plain awful. Last night we went for dinner and pie. Our waitress Cyndee was attentive and quick with drink refills. Pies were delicious as always.

Standard generic chain breakfast food here. Not particularly great, there are definitely better options in the area but we stopped here after an Urgent Care visit a few weeks ago(so fun) because it was across the street. Food is cheap, coffee is decent and our waitress was great so no complaints from me! I liked their make your own breakfast option and my fiancé is always a fan of places that I can get breakfast and he can order from the lunch menu.

It’s places makes me sad what Americans do to the English language. The menu here doesn’t say«hash slightly yellow on one side.» The menu says hash browns. But the concept of «browning» food is completely lost on whoever it is working in the kitchen. They weren’t even approaching orange, they were barely yellow, in part, on one side, of a big 1″ thick lump. The food placement on the plate was even suspect, my eggs were under my country fried steak, as was my hash yellows. The country fried steak was clearly the highlight on the plate, but it was tasteless as if it was cooked(almost burnt) from frozen the night before, and just warmed up a bit and dropped on the plate.(see photo) The waitress was friendly at first, but… Only checked on us once, at the only moment I had food in my mouth during the whole visit, at which point my mom(who has dementia) declared«it’s just wonderful.» But it was absolutely awful, I wanted to send back the hash yellows, the chicken fried steak tasted microwaved, and I was out of water and needed more. The check came before I got a second glass of water. I was unaware how badly someone could screw up something as simple as toast. But, now I’ve learned. First, slice it to thick so that there is a extra high ratio of bread that actually won’t be toasted. Then toast it in a device that somehow manages to leave ½ of the surface randomly unexposed to any heat. It’s a chain. And I suspect some Village Inn stops have good cooks and attentive staff. But for now, fall 2013, and this location, I couldn’t recommend it to anyone.

i don’t like breakfast. but this is where we come when the husband wants breakfast. and i am able to get lunch, so this makes me happy. last time we went it was a monday afternoon and the husband was still able to get some pancakes and i ordered fish & chips. we were in a rush to get to an appointment, and murphy’s law seems to work when you’re in that situation. we were seated and it took a little longer than usual for the waitress to come and greet us and take our drink orders. after we actually ordered, the pancakes came out quickly but the fish & chips took forever. i actually had to take it to go. when it came time to grab the check, that seemed to take forever, too. then checking out in the front was even longer. the greeter/manager, whoever he was… wasn’t super friendly. he told me to «hold on» while he sat some people who walked through the door after i had gotten to the register first. …okay. holding on. someone else finally came up to help but the first register wasn’t reading my debit card. had to jump over to the other side and that took a minute as well. we will probably be back, just because they are pretty good for breakfast, but, i might consider one of the other near by diners before i decide to come to this one.

Today was my first trip to Village Inn. I was greeted the host immediately. My waitress was a girl named Michelle, and she was at my table within a minute or two of being seated. She asked me if I had ever been to the village in before, and I told her this was my first trip. She took the time to explain the menu. Michelle asked me if I’d like a cup of coffee or something to drink and I told her that I would like a cup of decaf. She brought me a pot of decaf. I like the fact did they brought a pot of coffee because I hate waiting for a waiter or waitress to figure out that I needed more coffee. She asked me if I needed a few minutes to place my order and I said yes. A few minutes later she came back and asked me if I was ready to order and I said that I was. She took my order and in under 5 minutes my order was sitting in front of me and the restaurant was busy. This restaurant and staff are very efficient, very clean, and very professional. Michelle came to my table several times to ask if there was anything else that she could do for me. In most restaurants they take your order, deliver it, and really don’t care period. The Village Inn is totally different. They care about their customers. When Michelle delivered my orders she also told me to pick up a piece of pie. She explained to me that every order on Wednesdays get a free piece pie. That was totally unexpected and I love the fact that they go the extra mile to make their customers happy. The Village Inn and people like Michelle make this restaurant more of a hometown Diner. I will definitely return to the Village Inn, especially on Wednesdays. The pie was fantastic by the way.

For Village Inns, this one is pretty decent, most of the time. The food is pretty good, for what it is. It’s all standard diner-like fare, and it’s always consistent. They seem to season the meals relatively well, and they usually cook eggs close to how they’re requested. I really like their three(or is it four?) cheese omelet, which has jack cheese, mozzarella, and cream cheese(and maybe cheddar). I love the addition of cream cheese in an omelet, and I wonder why more places don’t use it! It goes very well with the richness of the buttery eggs because it is creamy and smooth, and it melts really well. Very tasty. My husband has enjoyed all of his sandwiches here. They’re always flavorful, but maybe a tad on the small side. He always gets a side salad as his side dish option, and the lettuce is generally crisp and fresh, and their ranch dressing is pretty good. And of course, the pies. They are mostly basic versions of a lot of different varieties of pie. They’re all generally good. The lemon ones are sometimes too sweet for me. The chocolate ones are sometimes too rich for me. But overall, they’re good and there’s enough menu variety that I’m sure anyone can find one that they’ll enjoy. We usually don’t end up at Village Inn for free pie Wednesdays, because the wait can get a little ridiculous, though. The restaurant itself could use a deep cleaning, because it’s starting to look a little bit dingy. Maybe part of that is because there’s always tables loaded up with dirty plates all over the restaurant that don’t get cleaned up for as long as it takes to eat an entire meal here. I’m not entirely sure if the floors ever get vacuumed, either. Overworked staff or disinterested staff? I’m not sure. It can get busy in there, certainly, but to hardly clean off tables in a reasonable amount of time? I dunno. Their prices are ok, more than Denny’s, but not outrageous. The service could use a little help sometimes. It takes too long to get a drink refill. But they sure do know how to leave your check on the table immediately. All-in-all, when we’re in the mood for Village Inn, we’ll return to this location.

Pro: If you are feeling like breakfast, you can get it. If you are feeling like soup and a sandwich, they have that too. If you are super hungry and want some chicken fried steak, you’ve come to the right place. Con: Busy on Wednesday. Expect a small wait. My educated guess is that it has something to do with their free pies. Pro: Free pie on Wednesday. The lemon supreme is supremely rich. My suggestion is to get your pie to go. Con: The veggie sides are super bland. They over-cooked my grilled chicken breasts, to the point they were like jerky. Pro: Friendly service.
