Neat place with sidewalk seating. Coffee is good but was started and served after food was served and no orders were in front of me. Ordered tacos and they came as a To go order. No problem but thankfully I opened them before leaving. They tasted very good but were dripping wet with liquid. The only way to eat them was knife and fork and even then they were difficult. I assume the liquid was from them bottom of the salsa bowl – not sure but would not order again unless I felt sure they were served and could be eaten as tacos.

If you are closing early, please post it somewhere other than a piece of hand-written paper on the door. We love this place and brought family from out of town. Would have planned for an earlier day had it been posted.

If you are going to deviate from your normal hours, you should accommodate your guests as much as possible. I brought my in-laws from Texas to Chimera especially today, on Sunday, because of the all-day breakfast. I have been raving about how amazing this place is to them. We walked in at 11:45 and were told that the restaurant was closing at 12:00pm. Great! 15 minutes to spare. Nope, instead we were told that the kitchen was closed. And no, my in-laws couldn’t wait a day and come back. Really strange behavior for a place that’s usually the best in town.

Super delicious and worth multiple visits. We are visiting Tulsa, so thank you fellow Unilocalers for the recommendations that took us to Chimera. I had The Disappearer with with tomatillo salsa and The Kool Thing on greens instead of as a taco. Both were phenomenal. My husband got The Teenage Riot veganized and the house-made granola, both were also amazing. The cold brew coffee was great — good beans, good spice. The atmosphere is very chill. They launched into Radiohead’s new album toward the end of our visit — hooray!

Fun drinks and a good environment. I had the chimera punch, which I liked deeply. I wanted to get some food, but there aren’t really appetizers. I would come back and try a breakfast bowl though!

Prompt courteous service. The Back to Primitive tacos with pick were spot on, and can I just say that the fruit cup was actually delicious fresh fruit and not cantaloupe!

Holy cow, I audibly moaned while eating their loaded potato tacos. They are out of this world. I would vote Chimera as the best tacos in Tulsa. While the loaded potato tacos are my favorite the bison street tacos are also exceptional. I am not vegetarian nor vegan – but they do have great options for this as well. During lunch, you order at the counter. During dinner, you order at the table. **TACOSAREONLYSERVEDATNIGHT!

I was traveling in Tulsa recently and stopped here for breakfast after reading Unilocal reviews. I had two tacos and a cappuccino. The venue has a nice vibe with an industrial feel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the Back to Primitive with tomatillo salsa and Cinderella’s Big Score with pico. Both were really yummy with a slight preference for the Back to Primitive taco. The Cinderella’s taco fell apart so I had to eat it with a fork. The cappuccino was good too. My only nit was I had to wait over 15 minutes for my cappuccino despite the restaurant not being very full. I had already received my food and finished it before it arrived. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, staff, and atmosphere.

I really love to have lunch or dinner at this place. What keeps me going back are the tacos and the drinks. I have tried the black bean tacos, the bison street tacos and the thai tacos and they were all delicious. As a side, I always order the biscoff dip with apples. It has a peanut butter texture but is peanut-free. It is a dip made of biscoff cookies(the ones in the Delta flights). Great idea… is delicious. Last time I went there I tried the sangria and it was really good too. It taste very tangy from the oranges. The ambience is hipster, they serve expresso coffee drinks at all times and it looks like a coffee shop in general. Nice music and is not too loud. Nice place to sit with your laptop and have a cup of coffee.

I LOVETHISPLACE!!! Seriously, excessive punctuation and all caps cannot express how much affection I gained for Chimera just from one visit. I hopped in for a quick lunch + caffeine refuel. Chimera was on my radar due to its awesome vegetarian and vegan friendly menu, and oh my goodness, did it deliver. If you’re meatless but want a taste of BBQ, try their BBQ tofu sandwich. It was deliciously spicy and the tofu excellently prepared. The terra veggie chips were also a wonderful but healthy-ish side. I had a hard time picking because how often is it I’m overwhelmed with veggie options in Oklahoma of all places??? The coffee was divine and very fancily presented. I’m a sucker for good presentation, so A+ in my book. The coffee was well-brewed, flavorful, and definitely filled my caffeine need, despite my initial skepticism from a lightly colored brew. The service is really one to write home about. The cashier was friendly and pleasant, and I was well-taken care of by the staff who bussed tables, refilled my water, etc. I was also quite happy not to be chided or eyes rolling at me for asking for cream. Gawd, I wish I could pack Chimera up in my car and take it back to Oklahoma City with me.

Breakfast tacos. Oh, yes. I took the recommendation for«The Disappearer» and it was great. The scrambled eggs, salsa verde, melted cheese and bits of bacon was perfect. And just the right size. As for the latte, it was great. Rich, tasty, needed no sugar at all. Nicely poured, too! I can see returning to Chimera again!

Food: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Cleanliness: 5⁄5 Décor & Style: 5⁄5 Sandwich was great(Bluebird– Grilled turkey, thick cut bacon, pickled blueberry smash, brie, mayo), cappuccino was great. Nice brick décor and cozy environment. They have the type of décor I would like to have at my house. I wish this place was bigger! 5⁄5 all around.

The breakfast tacos were so good! I think we had one of each and they were all delicious. The coffee was great too. They have donuts as well, which looked amazing. It’s a really cute place with plenty of seating, and it’s a good place to get work done if you like the coffee shop work environment. I’m looking forward to going back for more tacos!

Woahhh this is one hip coffee shop. We stopped in here Saturday morning and it was packed! Chimera has a very artsy vibe. The walls were packed with a small artist’s art 8-bit themed art. I assume they rotate artists but I can’t confirm that. We got our coffee to go as it was a little too crowded to hang around. We were enjoying sight seeing the neighborhood so it worked out. Their coffee was good but nothing super special. I did notice the full bar they had behind the counter. Where I come from, most coffee shops don’t serve booze. And this upsets me. I think that Chimera would be a rad place to have a drink with great conversation in the evening… or afternoon. Depending on how you roll.

What can I say? They have it figured out! The coffee is great, my office has it brought in fresh every day. I’m in love with it. Something I totally didn’t expect was the food. Unlike my writing, it’s perfect. My first time I tried the avocado BLT, it took me four more visits before I was willing to try something else! It was that good. It’s a simple sandwich easily made at home. But, what makes it special and unique is the bread which they make in-house. I saw a co-worker eating the spicy tapenade sandwich and tried it the next day… wow. A couple visits later I tried the mushroom soup. Wow! There is a lot of flavor depth, I’m going to start begging for recipes soon. A couple things to look out for — a lot of items are vegan but bacon is ever so popular throughout the menu, just ask if you’re not sure. Everyone is very nice and attentive. The place gets pretty busy for lunch so try and go earlier or later. I think it’s a great place to relax and get some work done too.

Gah! I really wanted to dislike this place! My wife wanted to go for brunch on Saturday and I flat refused. It looked like one if those ridiculous overly hip places where it gets good reviews just because it sorta gets cool(think«chicken & rice» street food craze in NYC). The next day my wife insisted, and as I was super hungry and we have been trying to eat full on vegan for a few weeks I totally caved. If ever there was a reason for me to have an open mind this was it. The restaurant is a spin on the fast-casual style dining experience. Go up and place your order, serve yourself water, then sit with your number and the food and coffee is brought out. The price point stays low while the quality of food is allowed to go up without costing you an arm and a leg. And let me say the quality was up on this day. I had the daydream nation. Well sauced, beautifully seasoned, and perfectly sized. For a vegan meal with what I thought were going to be nasty soy eggs, some weird looking«meat» patty and vegan cream sauce this was really excellent food. I don’t recommend going vegan, but if you do I strongly recommend this dish. I’d have to say I’ll return without question. Good job guys!

Fantastic local café for just about every imaginable purpose, and then some. This is one of my favorite work spots in Tulsa. Chimera is open at 7am every day, making it suitable for morning and afternoon work. Note that it is fairly well occupied at all hours every day, and the noise level is not ideal for people who need quiet, but if you can tune out the noise and tune into the energy, this is the spot for it. In fact, I tend to be distract able, but I’ve made business breakthroughs here while surrounded by shifting groups of happy chatting people on all sides. For some reason this particular environment uplifts me rather than distracting me as tends to happen most other places, perhaps just because of the great vibes I’ve always gotten in this space. Speaking of great vibes, if you want to come in a group, this is possibly the number one indoor hangout spot in Tulsa. Board games are on the house, so don’t hesitate to crash in with 15 friends for an unannounced birthday party, as I’ve done before. There’s plenty of room despite the number of people constantly present, and there’s a nice variety of seating options to accommodate any sized group in practically any function. With coffee, food, and drinks on the menu along with the complimentary water and board games, it’s no wonder there are amazing people here all day long. Come with your or friends or to make new friends. Chimera is where the cool people are.

Downtown Tulsa is a really walk-able place. There is plenty of parking on the weekends and you can find all sorts of cool places to eat and drink, especially Chimera. I stopped in for breakfast before the last day of the Wizard World Tulsa comic convention. Expecting to find a huge wait and no bar for single seating, I was pleasantly surprised. Chimera has that über-cool local coffee shop feel, with impressive vegetarian items on the menu. I’m not vegetarian but I did have the mocha, the Teenage Riot breakfast taco, and a side of bread and jam. This place did seem really popular as the morning went by so I guess there could be a wait at times to order, but I did enjoy myself there.

I’m always in this area & I’ve seen nor heard of this place till(literally) a little under a week ago. I’m going through a taco phase so I went ahead & gave them a chance since I saw the section they had for them. I ordered the Bison Street Tacos. Local bison, cilantro, salads verde(which was incredible) & chipotle crema. The bison was cooked in sweet agave chili sauce. Pepper jack cheese was added as well. The taco had all types of kick to it, which I enjoy, I love spicy food. Also, the waiter offered two special hot sauces, they really didn’t have a name for them, but they were better than any hot sauce I’ve ever tried(thus far).(If you look at my pics) the sauce of the left was the extreme hot one, while the one on the right was sweet with a spicy kick to it. The tacos came with a seasonal salad, which was refreshing. Carrots, yellow tomatoes, greens & some type of dressing that could’ve been strawberry/blueberry/some type of berry. This could be my new favorite place, with my taco addiction that’s going on right now. They even serve breakfast tacos, where you can mix & match. Also, all kinds of cocktails & coffee as well.
