Steamers On the Strip

I have no idea how people say anything bad about this place. I love the crawfish during season. The Royal Reds are awesome the rest of the year! Great manager!

I came here with my partner and our waitress was amazing! The reason for the 2 stars is for the quality of food and the poor management. We ordered the buffalo shrimp cheese dip for our appetizer and it was so oily that it overpowered the taste of the 4 little shrimp that were in it. Not worth the $ 9.99! Our entrees were a nice portion, and we added on catfish to my order. It was good (small portion). However, my side order of their «Steamers Cajun Rice» seemed like they scraped it from the bottom of the pan. It was hard and burnt. I sent it back and got the fries which were good. My partner had a strawberry daiquiri and I had a lime margarita. They were both very good! The biggest problem came in at the end of our meal when it was time for the check. I received the check and I asked our waitress if they gave military discounts. Her response was «Yes. It is 15%.» Of course I was very pleased with this information. I was only let down when she came back and said the manger told her they «don’t do it anymore. They recently stopped.» I look over at him, only to see him glaring at me with the most unpleasant look I could imagine from a person who is supposed to be in a management position. I did not take it out on our waitress because it was beyond her control, but my partner and I will certainly not be returning.

I just had to take the time out to say how impressed I was with the manager working on May 29^th around 3pm. So often it’s hard to find good customer service anymore. This manager had excellent people skills and went above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I have made sure to give Steamers on the Strip a glowing recommendation when talking to my colleagues, friends and family. Your delicious dill tartar sauce is awesome. I even had the pleasure of being introduced to the gentleman who make it. Steamers has definitely made it to the top of my list as one of my favorite seafood stops.

I don’t know why steamers has such a low rating because every time I go here it is good. The apps are good, the drink deals are good, and the fried seafood is awesome.
I always get the fried shrimp basket and it hits the spot every time. You get a good helping of fried shrimp with fries, hush puppies, and those damn good corn fritters. *Get a side of ranch for those fries and fritters!

We ordered dinner from this restaurant through the delivery service Crimson2go. Delivery was prompt and complete. Dinner was terrible. Shrimp etoufee was inedible, and gumbo was awful.

I think this is a solid 3 stars. I had the blackened fish ponchatrain and thought it was pretty tasty. My husband and daughter had fried shrimp and they thought it was good enough. No wait to be seated on a Sunday evening and decently priced menu.
We really ate there for nostalgia, as my husband and I used to work in the same space when it was a coffee shop and café over 13 years ago. Pretty similar setup in there as it was a decade ago, but clean and running smoothly.

Stood at the bar for 40 minutes but the bar tender there couldn’t spend one minute serving her own Alabama alumni a beer. She was too busy serving the rival LSU fans since they were tipping a little more. What happened to loyal and good service for alumni?

I’m from Louisiana, and their knockoff of Cajun food is a little off. The grilled chicken salad was ok. The blackened fish was decent. The crab claws were not that great according to the people who ate them.
Their potato salad was a strange orange color, instead of yellow, and their steamed broccoli tasted like it was microwaved.
All in all, not terrible, but not great either. Very average food.

I would have given it a one, but I had to account for the other times I had been. I felt like it was a ripoff, because I had gotten the basket where you can pick two. I decided to substitute my french fries and coleslaw for broccoli and potato salad. My food came out, and there was barely any oysters or fish.
The catfish pieces were as big as the french fries. In total, I had three shoestrings for catfish and 5 measly oysters. The hush puppies were bigger than both of the objects. My basket was completely filled with fries. So, I felt like I paid 11.99 for fries.
My sides could have been bigger. So, I asked the bartender how many pieces of meat was supposed to be in the basket, because I had a plate full of fries. She blew me off by saying that the basket is supposed to be that small and didn’t apologize or anything.
The food was perfectly seasoned, but the portions were off. The bad part was I debated on this place and Shrimp Basket. I chose this place instead. My advice if you like a lot of fries and half a handful of meat you should go there. The po’ boys were good the last few times I had been, but the basket is not worth your time except for Wednesdays.

Fresh Raw Oysters, Great seafood! I had the blackened fish topped with lump crab and shrimp w/​grits on the side. Friends had fried shrimp and fish. Perfectly cooked! Craft beer & cocktail selection was good.

This is decent the shrimp poboy isn’t bad. The roll on it is great. All in all an OK experiance.

Hit or miss with this place. I usually go for the steamed shrimp and oysters. The oysters are always fresh but I have had some inconsistency with the steamed shrimp. Some days they are large and cooked perfectly, but more often then not they are small and over cooked to a mush. There is just too much inconsistency with the food and can’t trust that I will be getting something worth eating. I would give two stars but every once in awhile they get it right.

Great food and great service! Daily affordable specials. We enjoyed it.
