I do like the food, but the service was horrendous. I was basically told about this beer and how it was fruity. She said it wasn’t bad. So, I tasted it and almost gagged. I asked for it to be switched or taken off my bill, but I was told they had already closed their cash drawers. Even though, they were still serving other patrons. I was basically stuck with a beer with the worst after taste. No one even tried to be helpful. I talked to three people, and they basically were useless.

Local college bar. Went in last night with a group to watch the National Championship game and the atmosphere was electric. A Bama game in a Tuscaloosa bar is an event to behold. The servers ran around the bar each time Alabama scored, the place exploded with cheering and chanting fans ample TVs and an open dining area made it feel less crowded than it was. The servers kept up as best they could given the number of patrons during the game. The food comprises your basic bar foods… The wings were good, as were the fried pickles and bbq nachos. There are a number of specials including craft beer and a large draft beer selection.

Very fun spot… love the BLT and Caesar wrap. Great for game day with the many flat screens and shooting pool is always fun. Only down size is that particularly on busy nights, service can be realllly slow! I just choose not go when I’m on a time crunch… Otherwise I only have good things to say!

We waited 40 minutes for our food on a game day. It never came. Started to leave and They told us out order was next for the cook. I’m never going back to that restaurant again

Great sandwiches, wings, and beers! Nice and friendly environment. They have lots of pool tables which means less waiting for your game to be up. Great specials and great service. Trivia night is must attend and there’s always sports on the many TV’s they have.

The food was prepare and out to the table in a timely manner. You can substitute the fries for a number of things. Late night eating is a plus. I personally don’t suggest the baked beans, but the burger tastes good. Glad I was able to eat this late. Update: While eating my burger i noticed there was a gnat in my food. Sorry, this is not what I expected. This has totally altered my view of this place. I will not return to eat here for a while. The waitress was nice; the meal was excluded from the ticket, however her explanation for the mishap was not what I expected. «Oh we’ve been having problems with that lately, and we’ve told the manager but nothing has happened.» I substituted my bake beans for fries, don’t want them because what else is back there in your kitchen? I’d like to meet this manager. Really!

Abridged version: The manager is a tyrant who poisons the otherwise genial atmosphere created by a generally attentive waitstaff and a wide variety of activities and beers. I hate that there’s not another similar venue in town that I could patronize instead of this one. Rant version: A group of us went to watch the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight and while I was happy to pay $ 30 for a cultural event, I have to say I wish I’d given a more deserving venue my money. Our waitress was wonderful; she found time to answer our questions though she was taking care of at least a dozen tables. We worked through our drinks and waited until the place has largely cleared out before even asking for our check. It was a terribly busy night. We waited for about 15 minutes after we’d asked to tab out before waving down another waiter to ask for help with our bills. Half of the bills were correct and the others were misprinted. We were complaining among ourselves for being made to sort out the bills instead of leaving it to the staff, which is their job in the first place, but the waiter overheard us and stopped at the table to berate us for being impatient and rude. By the end of it, they overcharged us and the manager emerged to call my boyfriend a liar and a d*ck. I’m not ashamed to admit that I was crying by the end of it, but the fact that Pacquiao had lost certainly had something to do with the state of things.

I always thought the place was average, until I got served a $ 20 beer. On their chalkboard they put the new bottle beer that they have, I decided to try a «St. Stephen’s Stout». Without any warning from the waitress, she brings me a 22oz beer bottle. Once I got my check, that one beer cost me $ 20!!! Outrageous and dumb of her to not warn me of the obnoxious price tag on a single beer(which was in all honesty an average stout). Will not be going back. BEWARE!

Though the majority of the staff has an attitude problem, the broccoli cheddar bites are amazing. The downside to this place is the atmosphere. It can be either really energetic and pleasant or it will be awkward, passive aggression from staff(they get busy and overwhelmed), and a gloomy time. When it’s great though it’s indeed great! Rather dreary and bleak interior with that run down charm. $ 2 pint night is worth it. If you’re a pool player you’ll enjoy this spot.

Went for lunch while in town for the holidays. They didn’t have the beer I ordered, which is one from their menu, so I picked one from the chalkboard, it was also out. I end up having one the bartender recommended which was a blonde, I don’t know why he suggested this because the first two were dark beers. Ordered fish n chips but they didn’t have malt vinegar so had s Reuben instead. Will not return 1. Got a beer I didn’t want and never offered a refill 2. Didn’t get the food I wanted 3. Bathrooms reek of piss at lunchtime on a Monday… I mean when do you clean? 4. I’m reviewing this at midnight sitting on the can because… You guessed it, the Reuben.

Some friends and I went to watch a game tonight. We sat on the porch and it was perfect. Lots of TVs and good beer. And the server even brought water for my dog without being asked. Lovely evening.

Service was slow and the food was nothing to write home about. Drink specials were underwhelming as well. It’s pretty big and has several pool tables, which is nice. Wilhagans is a good back up plan, but should never be your #1 move.

Wilhagan’s has really tasty wings and a nice beer selection, and their outdoor seating area is pretty serene. When I say«really tasty» wings, I mean… they are lovely, all crisp and exactly like I think wings should be. Clearly, my opinion on wings is the gold standard for wings. Maybe some people would think Wilhagan’s overcooks their wings, but those people would be wrong. Wings shouldn’t be all soggy and flabby. So try them, and I recommend having their wings with one of their many white/wheat/whit type beers, something light and refreshing with a citrus slice. Just don’t go in expecting to run in and out. I’m cool with that but I’ve been there with some people who got a bit hot under the collar over the«slow» service. Meh, whatever.

I’ve only ever had appetizers here, but was not a fan. I’m giving this bar 3 stars because it remains one of my favorite hangouts. There are pool tables, dart boards, trivia nights, and good music. They have an extensive beer list and I love going here on the weekends.

One of the staples in Tuscaloosa. The food is par for bar food, but it is a fun place with great drink specials. Between trivia night, poker night, the dart boards, and the pool tables, there is always something to do. The wait staff is pretty great as well.

Roll tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide. Boy, was I in Bama country when we visited yesterday for my boyfriend’s music gig. This appeared to be the spot to hang out, wear red, and pre-game the night before the Alabama — LSU game. When we first made our way to Wilhagan’s(at the urging of the event organizer for his gig), we were told that there was at least a 30 minute wait for a interior table(some patio tables were open but it was chilly out) and approximately 90 minutes for food order. W.O.W. I didn’t realize that sports bars were the mad trend for the season? She ended bumping us up in just a few minutes after she found out that were linked to the event organizers which was nice but I wondered if anyone else was willing to wait that long? Once seated, I enjoyed viewing the extensive beer menu which included my faves Chimay($ 8) and Abita too. At times the serves seemed confused on who was assigned to our table too. They warned us that the regular menu would definitely be around the 90 minute wait but that we could get appetizers such as chips and salsa, french fries, and cheese sticks would take closer to 30 minutes. We were all starving so we waited. The chips and salsa were brought out immediately but to our dismay, the chips were soggy and stale. The salsa was the saving grace as it was delicious! Next the french fries and cheese sticks(which I didn’t nosh on as I am vegan) were brought out and measured up to what is expected in a sports bar… greasy and without any frills. They certainly sustained our hunger but weren’t anything to write home about. All in all, this is a great spot to chill out with friends for some brew and to talk mad shit on opposing teams for those who are patient!

I only frequent Wilhagan’s at lunch, but I must say I enjoy it very much. I have never had anything that I did not like. Also, the service is usually good(although, like any place, bad service happens and I have experienced that a time or two). There’s two great things about it during the day: 1. It is never crowded 2. It is quiet(but not too quiet) This gives me a chance to relax a little bit. Overall, I am definitely a fan and suggest it!
