I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years. It’s my naughty little cheat. I get the shredded beef taco– ok– I TWO of them with their«to go» salsa. My sons love their bean and cheese burritos. It’s great greasy Mexican food. It’s always clean, the woman(owner?) running the counter is always pleasant and quick.

I always get confused with the name changes of these business… Some are Alberto’s, Alertas, Alberts tacos, and this one is Albertas. The food and the menu are all the same. I have been eating at these places since the mid 80s when they started in San Diego. There is something comforting about this place. The food is not extraordinary. Not super clean or nice, but always tasty and consistent. I always get the chicken enchiladas, the chicken is always moist, sauce is simple, topped with cheese and lettuce I also get rolled tacos, to most people they are taquitos. They are topped with a simple guacamole with real avocados. I give them 3.5 stars

So it’s super late and WEWANTFOURTHMEAL! I always tend to throw this option out for suggestions because of carne asada fries. It’s a squared to-go box, filled with fries, refried beans, a ton of carne asada, topped with gauc, sour cream, pico de gallo and cheese… If you don’t think that sounds good to you, I feel sorry for you! There’s a drive thru although the wait is pretty long… When there was a video rental store in the same complex, I use to wait in line and someone would hop out, grab a movie and a few brewskies at the liquor/market next to the video store and I’d still be waiting in line to get my box of goodness

I mistakenly thought this was an Alberto’s, but it is actually an Alberta’s. Pretty much the same concept, quick, low cost, yummy Mexican food. Unfortunately, they only succeed at 1 out of 3; low cost. They have a convenient order window outside for to go orders, along with indoor and outdoor seating. Carne asada fries: the actual French fries were very good, beans were standard nothing special, cheese was typical shredded Mexican cheese, guacamole and pico de gallo fine. Problem was with the meat. Carne asada is cut very tiny, which is a preference thing, but many of the pieces were not cut/separated all the way, not a big deal. The meat quality was terrible, and I get it, this isn’t a fine restaurant, but there were huge chunks of almost pure fat on the fries. Pretty unacceptable, and nasty. Same problem with the carne asada burrito, but positive thing I can say about it was that they were very generous with the meat portion, even though the meat was not so good. Wait time takes forever, even when there are not many people there.

Carne asada fries are a must here! So good! It’s a huge portion so I always either share this or have half left over for later. The rolled tacos are awesome too! Their guacamole is super fresh! This place is open late so it’s a good place to go after a night out. iv never eaten in so can’t rate on that, but drive thru is always fast and friendly service

Sadly, I got lured over to Alberta’s thinking it was an Alberto’s. I ordered the«super nachos» which was $ 9. The drive thru employee thought I ordered THREE orders and totally caught me off guard when he said«31 $» was my total. The super nachos description says it comes with cheese sour cream guacamole beans pico de gallo and your choice of meat. But i wasnt asked what kind of meat I wanted. Also, the chips resemble basic tortilla chips you buy for football games to eat with«salsa». This price is higher than the original Alberto’s chips with meat, especially for the quality I got. Its drive thru is oddly laid out as well. It doesn’t empty straight out possibly due to a bush being inconveniently located there. Being a fan of the original Alberto’s, I am critquing Alberta’s on the same scale. Overall it is good if you want some quick Mex food but I’ll stick to the original.

The food is mediocre but if the price is low enough I would put up with it. The problem is the price on the menu did not match the price on my receipt. Menu indicated $ 7.50 and my receipt had $ 7.99 for the two taco plate. Cashier refused to resolve the issue. Not going back.

Super disappointed. I got the enchilada combo and added sour cream. My enchiladas were not good at all. The cheese wasn’t melted inside and it my sour cream had more cold cheese packed on it. I expect a sprinkle of cheese but not a snowball of it. I ended up eating the rice and beans. Beans were nothing special and the rice was dry and had too much cumin or garlic in it. Go to wahoos or hole mole down the street if you want more for your $ and doesn’t make your stomach hurt.

I usually base my eating experiences off Unilocal… Alberta’s is a 3 star rating… But i was craving Carne Asada Fries and the closest Mexican Food joint would be this location… I usually drive all the way to Fountain Valley to Aliertos… Anyways… This place is across the street from Acai Republic and Cream Pan… in the corner off El Camino Real. We ordered: Carne Asada Fries NOBEANS Carne Asada Burrito Shredded beef hard taco 3 roll tacos with guac, sour cream and cheese Red Sauce about $ 26.00 not too bad for 3 people eating… The reviews from Unilocalers raved about the carne fries so it was a must try for me especially with my preggo cravings… and boy were these fries on point!!! the toppings were great!!! Cheese, steak, salsa, sour cream and guac! these are not the skinny fries. Fat fries just how I like it. We didn’t see any reviews or barely any pics for burritos but decided to get one anyways… and of course… it was sooooo good!!! I would eat it again!!! and the size was fulfilling too… it only comes with meat, salsa, & guac, but still the perfect combo… 3 rolls were good but I still like mine at Aldabertos… They wait takes forever but it’s worth the wait because they don’t make it until you order it!!! WOOHOO so everything you get is fresh and HOT! Overall I would definitely come back here and the plus side is it’s only less than 10 mins from my house… & on the weekdays I believe they close at 11PM… not sure about the weekends… 5 stars in my book!!! I haven’t really had a bad experience at this small hole-in-the-wall, but then again, I don’t expect much so maybe I’m just not that picky when it comes to Mexican food. I’ve tried a variety of things on their menu, but my go-to items have always been the super fries(~$ 9.50) and their two burrito combo(no longer on the menu but I think they still have it). It’s typically $ 9 – 10 depending on which burritos you want, with beef being the cheapest. The food is decent and I still find myself going to Alberta’s here and there since it’s pretty close to me. However, one of my biggest complaints is the salsa bar. There’s really not much to it and if you’re looking for nice chunks of tomatoes, sadly you won’t find any. Everything looks like it was just blended up. My other complaint is the continuous price hikes. Super fries used to be less than $ 8 and now it’s close to $ 10. Kinda steep for what is essentially a deconstructed carne asada burrito over a bed of frozen fries. Alberta’s is a solid 3 stars in my book. I still enjoy the food, but with Taco Factory less than a mile away with cheaper prices, I find myself going there much more these days if I’m craving Mexican food.

My overall experience in one word: Eeeeeehhhh. I was craving some mexican food, specifically some Carne Asada Fries. So I hopped on and found this place to be closest since I was pretty lazy. I got here and it was pretty dead for sometime in the afternoon. Looked at the menu a quick second and tried to order but there was just one employee on this side of the kitchen sweeping the floor and only until I chimed up a little did she come to the counter a couple seconds later. She was nice and took my order but took a couple seconds on the register. I got my Carne Asada Fries and took it home and ate it. It was… like I said… Eeeeeehhhh. The fries weren’t the best and it was extra oily. Now, I was extremely hungry so I still ate half of this monster of a to-go box before I threw in the towel, but I was definitely not impressed.

I was thinking about 2 stars but it is simply not a place ill come back to. I got the super fries which they use big fries instead of small fries. it was 10.26 and I remember because I gave the cashier 10.30 expecting change. Although, I was gonna give her the tips anyway, she was like how much did you give me??? I was like 10.30…she was like oh… and i was like um it’s okay you can keep the change. She then said Thank you. Fries came and it was a lot but for 10.30…it’s kinda how much they should give imo. Really though, the fries really lacked flavor… and the fries weren’t crispy at all. It was basically everything went wrong when I was really debating about going to another place… but I fucked up… Point is… you probably can go to a lot better mexican restaurants around the place. Sorry I’m gonna have to give you a 1 cause food and service were bad and it was quite pricey.

Place keeps going downhill. Service is slower than usual with no one in line or ahead of us. Prices were just bumped up so carne asada fries are now $ 10! Add to it I had them hold the sour cream and put it on the side and they charged me for a side of sour cream!

Tried this place again tonight ! This time the careasada was so salty I could only eat half of the of the ½ order that I purchased ! I ordered a beef taco as well and it was so greasy after 1 bite I tossed it too. That’s the last time I’ll be going there. That was a waste and my stomach is hurting 15 mins after eating it :/

The food here is just like any other Alberto’s. One thing I didn’t like is the fact that they keep the spicy salsa hidden, you have to ask the cashier for it and she’s very stingy with the amount you ask. I made sure I asked for 6 little containers and she only gave me 3, making it awkward to try to ask for more. Also, I was there yesterday as well, and she forgot to give me my Jarritos. The 3 stars isn’t for the food but rather the service. I think next time I’ll drive all the way to El Toro instead.

The California Burrito. The type of meal that feeds the red-blooded human creature within. Thoughts empty and all that remains is satisfaction. They do it well and they do it right. As classic To the state of California as the In-N-Out Double-Double. Go get one after a long day. To be paired with a tall brew.

This is one of those mom-and-pop places that I have been going to since high school. It is also one of those places that you need to order the right things to make it an epic five-star experience. One of those things is the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito is a Southern California birthright. I’ve eaten them all up and down Southern California since I was a kid. And for my money the Carne Asada breakfast burrito at Alberta’s at this location is the best most consistent breakfast burrito in Southern California. I don’t judge a breakfast burrito by how much garbage and grease you can stick in it. I judge it by the delicate balance of what a breakfast Burrito should be. A perfectly homemade flour tortilla that you can almost see through because there is so much lard in it to make it taste great, Quality meat, breakfast potatoes or hashbrowns done right, A decent amount of egg but not too much to make it overpowering and a good amount of of cheese(cheddar) to hold it all together. I prefer having my salsa or chili sauce on the side because I find it makes the burrito soggy. Don’t put the salsa from the salsa bar on the breakfast burrito make sure you ask for the red chili sauce whether you’re driving through or eating there. It’s magical sometimes overly spicy which I like but very garlicky and lots of chili that rounds out the whole experience. So get your ass out of bed and go get a breakfast burrito at Albertas you won’t be disappointed.

They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. BF and I came for lunch one day and the salsa bar was lacking when we came… but after we finished our food everything came out… So we ended up asking for the homemade red sauce that they have behind the counter. What we got: Fish Tacos($ 2.70 each): I ordered 2 thinking I could finish both…1 is enough! These tacos are huge! I couldn’t even take a bite without everything falling apart. Fish was super crunchy, but not in a good kind of way. It was topped off with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and shredded lettuce. Not the best fish tacos I’ve ever had and probably wouldn’t order it again. Carne Asada Burrito($ 6.50): BF will always order the carne asada burrito at any of these places. He didn’t enjoy this at all though. Meat was dry and tasted like it was previously frozen. Their red sauce had no flavor at all either so it didn’t help this burrito taste any better. Service: Lady was nice when taking our order and answering our questions. But… probably won’t be coming back to this place.
