Bad management. We had a party of 6 and they forgot to cook the steak(steak and shrimp)! They did not refund the meal because the card used to pay was with the family who had to take their little kids home and could not wait any longer! I then waited 15 minutes for them to tell me they couldn’t credit the meal on a gift card either and was asked to wait another 15 minutes while they cooked the meal over again. Absolutely ridiculous and I didn’t not stay to wait longer. They expected a family to come back, with their little ones, or myself to wait 30 minutes for them to correct their mistake. Bad service. They also said there was no manager or supervisor on duty and I could come back at 9:30pm. I will not be going back and recommend others to Fuji’s sushi instead.

I want to like this place & keep trying to come back for a better experience. Everytime I walk through the door, all I smell is cat pee. My husband and I completely lost our appetites last time we walked in the door. Thinking it was just a random day that it happened to smell like that, I came back over a month later. STILLSMELLSLIKECATPEE. It’s freaking gross.

My kids and I LOVE the Sushi Boat idea. They have fun and the price is right. It’s a set fee depending if it’s lunch or dinner time and then all you can eat at the boat. Not like other sushi boats I’ve been to that charge you per plate and by its color. The sushi is fresh and super yummy! Highly recommend this place!

Our family used to come here quite often for special events, birthdays and just family get together. It was a great spot, always packed and the food was incredible. The staff was just the same. However, it seems that they have changed ownership and it is an obvious change. Went to Hisui last night for dinner and the parking lot was empty. We ordered drinks and then we ordered food. Come to find out it is an additional $ 4.00 to add fried rice. Really? If I remember right it used to be an extra $ 1.50. After we ordered it was another 30 minutes until the chef showed up. They had one chef working the entire restaurant. The«show» is not what it used to be. No onion choo choo train? We will not be coming back here. It definitely shows that these are new owners. Sad, because this was one of our favorites in Vacaville…

Surprised all the years I’ve eaten here I have not put up a review. They have always been a solid 7.5 –8 for their sushi. And not the sushi boat buffet. Morons expecting good sushi with a boat buffet, well don’t give their review credence. Anyhow. Been eating here for 10 years always been good, changed owners a few months or more ago. Been here 3 times now since. And every time it’s been a little less«GOOD» this time, beers Luke warm, sashimi had some fishy taste. And my Ikura was bad, fishy sticky and hard. I always give the benefit of the doubt. Will come back one more time. Maybe a new stalker or back room kid. Never know. Until then happy eating

Don’t go for lunch worst food ever! Hibachi is wonderful. Staff don’t know the menu and English is a challenge for some of them.

This place is a DUMP. The hostess who must be one of the owners is not the nicest in the world by any stretch of the imagination. The sushi was anything but fresh. Service is a double bogey at best! If you are in Vacaville and want a sushi experience head up the way to Fuji. Same price way friendlier staff and a way better experience! This place use to be a Sizzler and the food was better when it was a Sizzler!

Honestly IDE rather go to hisui 2. That’s just my opinion, I’ve been here a few times and every time I order something different and try and hope it’s better than the time before. It’s not it’s all the same. When we arrived it seemed like a long wait until we found out it was one big party and they were all just waiting by the entrance because I guess they can’t be seated until the whole party was there. We finally talked to the hostess for a second and then she got on the phone and that was a five minute longer wait. Which I didn’t really mind but she kinda just ignored us. She also looked completely unprofessional. She was wearing black pants and her hisui shirt but it was really long on her and wrinkled she didn’t have it tucked in. Also she was obviously at a pool or lake earlier in the day because we could see her bathing suit halter straps hanging out of the shirt and her ponytail hair was destroyed. If she was my employee IDE have her go home. My boyfriend ordered the hisui special dinner with sesame chicken and shrimp tempura. It also came with miso soup veggies, salad, and rice. It was all really good except for the sesame sauce it was a weird texture and tasted funky. I would recommend getting something else. I ordered the justin roll which had(dfs, crab)(avo, spicy tuna,) topped with tempura flakes. And the tempura roll which had deep fried shrimp and sauce. The Justin roll was actually pretty good despite the hard tempura flakes. And the tempura roll was kind of depressing it had a lot of sauce which was probably good because it helped the giant ball of rice go down your throat, it had a small piece of shrimp inside. I probably won’t come back but I just might and I hope it’s better if I do.

It’s unfortunate that I have to give this place one star. Last night, my date and I decided to go out for Sushi so I recommended Hisui. I’d eaten here before and always enjoyed my experience. Unfortunately last night we felt unwelcome. Our server got changed and we were appalled by how the new server insisted that we pay right away after eating. My date and thought this must be a joke, but after the server returned 3 more times touching the payment folder we finally acknowledged that this was harrassment amd profiling. So we paid and left. I can honestly say that in 2016 no couple should experience this type of service. Most restaurants allow patrons to stay and talk… especially if the place isn’t busy. Not Hisui. Therefore we will not return.

The menus had a wide variety of sushi– tried a couple of rolls and they were good. I’ve had better. I ordered the sesame chicken dinner that comes with soup and salad. Chicken was fried and it was great! Service wasn’t too bad. I’d like to come back again. I expected a little more though.

I went after looking at all the good review on Unilocal and had high hopes. BOY was I disappointed. Well, more than that: I half-expect getting sick at this point. Will probably only recommend to people who I truly wish ill of, quite literally.(tl, dr: non-existent service, negligent staff and stale fish/oyster). Went to the restaurant at 7pm on Friday and found the place half empty. Being a fish enthusiast and quite hungry I asked for all-you-can-eat. The waiter seated me and left, there is no menu or anything. I started taking things from floating boat, and from here on it’s all downhill: 1. They have some sort of roll with suspicious looking fish meat on top. Color looked like tuna but was VERY mushy. I asked the waiter what it is. He says«tuna». I said I don’t think tuna is this consistency. He shrugged and walked off, I am not sure this is a command of English issue or he he just doesn’t care. 2. Towards the end i figured out they offer sashimi and fresh half-shell oyster because dude next to me ordered it. I emulated and ordered the same. I looked on as the chef took out his bucket of oyster on ice, served the dude first… And… No oyster for me. I waited for a good 10 minutes, decided that he had probably forgot, and asked for my check. While I was rummaging for my wallet, the chef remembered me and served my order of oyster. I took one bite and that was one of the more DISGUSTING thing I have ever bitten into(mind you, seafood enthusiast here). The oyster was probably not that fresh to begin with, and now after 10 – 15 min in room temperature, has turned luke warm and the taste was a very unpleasant nauseating sweet — the hallmark of stale shellfish. I couldn’t take it and spat it out. I will not be back, nor would I be terribly surprised if I end up getting sick tomorrow.

This place is fun to go to and I always end up enjoying my time. However my rating is based on 2 experiences. 1) the waiter barley spoke English, in fact he had no idea what a margarita was. We even had to spell it to him and he wrote it down and said he was going to go ask what it was! WHAT!!! He also told us before that they had no alcohol. 2) when we received the drink it tasted as if no alcohol was in it. Maybe he was telling the truth because there didn’t seem to be the slightest taste. 3) the other time we went, it always seems like we annoying the waiters. We don’t ask for much in order to truly be annoying in any way.

Since my last review I have had more bad experiences then good! I am only giving one star because when they get it right they get it good and funny you can’t give zero stars anyways. One of my experiences here was just so bad we have never really came back since. Mind you, we were loyal customers before. One late night we strolled in here excited to get our usual dinner and a show. Habatchi is everything! I always go to habatchi restaurants and because I have a shellfish allergy the cooks are very careful about this and make sure there is no cross contamination. I’m sensitive so even though I don’t eat a shrimp I still get a reaction if my food touched anything shellfish has been on. Our cook was really strange and sloppy. His tricks were off and he seemed lost. I had told him about my shellfish allergy and 5 min later he’s cooking shrimp and all the food I’m eating at the same time and using all the same utensils! I had to stop him and he looked at me… dropped his utensils and left! It was so bizarre. A new cook came out and apologized and said he wasn’t feeling well. No, we think he was drunk!!! They cooked the vegetables in the back for me because i would not touch ‘em. Then although I had hoped nothing else touched I get a small allergic reaction. My throat is a little itchy and I have a few small hives. We ask for a manager and all they give us is ten percent off! I didn’t even eat my meal. They could have saved us as customers because it was only one bad cook. Ok we have had one other one. Stay clear of this place! They do nothing to make up for their mistakes!

Lowkey shady. Don’t bother coming here if you’re in for some teppanyaki, portions are small and quality is not really up there, especially for what you pay. I ordered the steak and shrimp. The steak came medium well when I ordered medium rare. The rest of the food was alright. BUT when it came to the bill, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a lunch special, which comes with soup and vegetables and rice. I was presented with the option of fried or steamed rice, and I chose fried rice. I WASCHARGED $ 7.80 per bowl, without any notice. A ripoff. Will never return here ever again, nor will ever recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.

Always wanted to try this place out & finally did today for their all you can eat sushi lunch special(only $ 13 mon-Friday). Everything was great! You sit down and have the boats go around, then just grab whatever looks appealing to you. You can also ask the gentleman to make you whatever you’d like. Everything was fresh and the customer service was excellent!

We visited Hisusi in hopes of finding a place that would be open new years eve serving dinner. When you come into this restaurant they can sit you in several different areas with all around different menus. They have a sushi bar, hibachi area and a regular dining area for dinner times. We opted for the simple dinner menu to avoid the crowds in the other areas of the restaurant, they seemed a bit busy this evening. I’m not really a fan of Japanese food per say, but this place really exceeded our expectations. The dinner menu here has a variety of things such as steak, teriyaki plates, noodles, ramen, and sushi. So pretty much there is something for everyone here. I ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner plate that comes with a side of miso soup and a salad. The salad( ) itself was pretty dull consisting of simple iceberg lettuce, sliced carrots and a heaping load of ranch dressing on top. Too much ranch ruins a salad in my opinion. The miso soup( ) wasn’t really my favorite either, consisting of a load of salty aftertaste and was only a bit lukewarm. The food appeared to come out in waves with different trays of sushi arriving along with finally my entrée plate. The chicken plate( ) was basically a big portion of chicken covered with teriyaki sauce and a graze of sesame seeds along with a bowl of white rice. On the side you get a bit of refreshing pickled veggies. The meat was a bit fatty and was basic chicken thigh meat. The teriyaki sauce was quite tasty and wasn’t drowning the meat like a lot of Asian places do to their chicken. The rice was cooked perfectly, but you would almost expect that at an Asian restaurant. I really liked the dinner plate of food, definitely a lot better than the sides it came with. My parents enjoyed their sushi dishes that they ordered here and commented that it was their favorite sushi in Vacaville. Overall we had a very good dinner at Hisusi and were fans of the food. The service was quite fast and the waitress was very friendly. The prices were a bit on the steep side but the portions and quality make up for it. If I could have changed anything, I would have wanted the restaurant to be a bit warmer. Outside it was around the mid 30s and sitting inside didn’t seem much different, it was freaking freezing. Hard to enjoy dinner when you’re freezing your butt off. Luckily their delicious hot green tea warmed me up a bit.

I’ve been to both the hibachi and the regular seating side– all visits here have been fab! This place is appropriate for a business meeting or a family meal. The hibachi side might be too exciting though if you have a serious client meeting or something important to discuss with your boss. It is however, a perfect family fun outing and dinner combined. Especially if you have Jay as your hibachi chef! He plays music and has great jokes! I had to subtract one star because I’ve encountered twice now, a very grumpy waitress who is pretty slow and overwhelmed. She’s probably a nice person, but man she acts like she hates her job! If she weren’t there, definitely 5 stars for great food and hibachi entertainment. Make sure you leave a cash tip ON the table for your hibachi chef! I learned that the tip you give when you sign your credit card receipt is for the server. They definitely don’t work as hard as the hibachi chef so, I always make sure to show them some love as I would a bartender!

Getting seated was a problem, could not locate hostess(it was not busy). Our chef was great, we told him we did not have much time, so he quickly cooked it up and gave a show afterwards. Food was delicious! My group was satisfied and happy with service which was super attentive.
