So disappointing to actually have a waitress tell us she’s not interested in serving us because she wants to «get out of here». she said we should go to the bar so she wouldn’t have to work… kind of the same attitude we get from the front desk of the hotel. next year maybe we’ll just sleep in a van down by the river…

This place used to be a great spot with a fine menu and familiar faces. I go for the tv’s, as they dial in any sporting event on that day. The new menu is below average on selection. The food is just ok. The wait staff is solid. For Vail, I expect better.

Working the Burton US Open and came here to relax and have some dinner. Great beers and food is pretty good. Pool tables and plenty of TVs for the sport fan… Friendly service.

Ok… just so you know, this is a locals hangout and dive bar Vail style. We loved it! But that’s what we were looking for. They have 3 pool tables, tons of TVs playing a great selection of sports, music and inexpensive drinks. I was very impressed that the bartender didn’t give me attitude when I asked for a certain sport to be put on TVs near us. It’s a relaxed low brow establishment and there may not be any stars there. But we loved it!

Stopped in to watch the 1st half of the Panther Seahawks game. No problem finding a table. Ordered the Slope Fries(blue cheese version) and the hummus and chips. The Slope Fries were OK, however very salty. The blue cheese on them was good but too powerful. We had to tone it down with ketchup. The hummus lacked flavor. Chef… Add lemon juice, garlic, paprika and maybe a little salt. Just a suggestion.

I have never been that disrespected in my entire life. I have lived in vail for 3 years and I’ve worked in vail for the same amount of time. I will NEVER be back. The manager was condescending and sexist and the bouncers were no better. Granted, New Year’s Eve was bound to be busy but they were over the top rude. They were calling girls in line«annoying» and«fucking stupid». If you want to have a horrible night, this is the place for you.

Great location but awful service. Not a reflection of the employees but they’re significantly understaffed. Food was good and drinks were cold. Atmosphere was electric and fun. Just don’t expect to eat or drink in a timely manor. Pizza is the best dish.

Friendly service. Great food. Cold beer. Very affordable. cozy atmosphere. BBQ chicken pizza was quality flavor, would ask for extra chicken next time though. I loved the spicy BBQ sauce you used for the pizza. Generous portion of sweet potato fries. #DalesPaleAle #Vail #Colorado

Can’t complain about this place. Always feels weird walking into a hotel just to hit the bar, but it’s Vail. I’m getting used to it. The people here are pretty friendly, and were rather forgiving in spite of my first visit to this place being a rough night(haha, Katie knows). Can’t comment on the winter experience, as I’m new to town this summer, but it’s a low-key place to hang and chat. There are digital trivia games, and stuff like that, too, if you’re into it, along with the pool(and the pool).

I’m a big fan of this place! I stayed at the Evergreen this past week for the World Youth Fly Fishing Championship and I can’t say how much fun I’ve had in Altitude. The pool tables are awesome and they really draw a friendly crowd! The people are great and the staff really know how to make you feel at home. I loved the fact that Kelsey remembered my drink order from night to night… Always a great thing in my book! Kelsey served me dinner one night in the banquet room and she was totally on top of her game, very friendly and a great personality in a busy situation! The entire staff makes you feel like you’re an appreciated customer! Great service, great food, great drinks and even better company! I’ll be back! Can’t get enough of this place!

Identity crisis. Poor food quality. Not recommended! Feels somewhat like a updated old folks home. The staff has clearly not lived in the area very long because they were clueless. Plenty of better places to visit in Vail. I like servers who know a little about where they live.

Place has turned over *significantly* in the past two months. New staff(some old), different clientele, and very much a remodel. *LOADS* of TVs, possibly too many. The remodel does look nice, definitely cleaned the place up from what it was, putting money into it has driven out some folks and brought in new. Staff are very friendly, clearly they are all dealing with the changes and doing a very fine job of it. Change is never easy, lets hope the new owner and management do great things, and have big plans for entertainment. I had a beer(ordered two, yet only one found its way to my lips) and a pizza. I sat and talked for a couple hours, met some very nice folks, locals and tourismos. The place was not too noisy, enjoyed the bar environment. Band was starting up shortly after I left, so management were politely clearing the bar and charging 10 to get back in. Pizza was pretty good, and its my understanding that is even changing(lets hope for the better). Good sized pizza pie for around 14 bucks. Definitely ask for the ‘heepin helping’ and pay the extra couple bucks for the much needed extra volume on the pie. The beer was a nice pour with good head, and proper temp. Didn’t smell like contaminated lines as some bars seem to these days. I walked with the beer, pizza and tip for 20. Considering this is damn near the heart of Vail, I felt like I made out fine. Not ripped, not screaming deal either, just right. Overall a good experience and will follow up again. I would dial back the salt on the pizza.

First of all, this has been my local hang out for years… but the hotel it is in has a new owner. The new owner has put some money into the bar. New tv’s, new tables yada… yada.yada. I had a great chicken sandwich, and tried to order cheezy fries. I mean fries with cheese… its not rocket science. They have cheese nachos on the menu for cripes sake. But yet I was told NO when I asked for cheese on my fries. It is a bar… maybe it is only me that think cheese fries should be served at a bar. Come here if you like a lot of T.V.‘s… but not if you want cheezy fries.

Great place for a beer and a game on thier many tv’s. Came if for a burger and a beer and ended up staying for way longer than expected. The pool table are much nicer than anywhere else in the valley, if your looking for a great table with top notch equipment than this the place to go One thing that makes sport bar great is the tv, and these guys have tv’s everywhere, which is nice for watching many games at the same time. The food si good but not great, it’s a sports bar and they do a good job of keeping your beer full and you belly full as well. ouuld recommend for big groups, we had about ten people in the bar and we had plenty of room to, move around and do our thing. Try the mirco brews, many on tap and the price is not to bad. These guys just finished a remodel and the place looks great.

Average bar food and little to no service. Ordered from the bar to go, wasn’t offered a water or anything while I waited. Interestingly they had some Korean food mixed in with the standard bar fare, although the phở had run out by 8pm. Took about 15 minutes before the bartender realized my burger was taking too long. I can appreciate he was trying to hurry things up but the burger was pretty rare instead of medium. Musty smell is fitting to this low key drinkin’ hole. Probably the only refuge from Vail’s stuffy upper crust.

This place is fabulous. I have dined at the café as well as the bar and I love the locals vibe… you can tell this is a place that caters towards travelers as well as locals. It’s not easy to find a «locals vibe» in vail and the evergreen lodge does it well. Thanks! We will be back soon!

I don’t know what idiot runs this place but to have one server(count them one!) working a full bar? SERIOUSLY one server??? This isn’t the first time you morons. Every year it’s like this. If you worked for me as a manager is fire you so fast your head would spin. In terms of the food etc. The food is okay, not bad but not worth making a special trip for. The environment feels tacky and lazy. Honestly the whole hotel feels like some tacky joint that is pulling in money merely because it’s vail. Let’s be honest, this s*#t show is probably for those who want the bargain vail experience.

Do not visit this establishment. We got a table, waited 25 minutes and not one waiter even glanced our way. No water, no acknowledgment whatsoever. The server we saw was too busy petting the large black dog slobbering in the doorway and chatting with her buddies. Unless you know a server, you will not be served. And if you are served it will be halfassed with dog hair on your food. The health department should shut this sad place down.

Great, non-pretentious bar in Vail with good service and a nice, mellow vibe. Perfect spot for after ski-drinks and yummy bar food if you don’t want to fight the crowds. Plenty of tables were available for our crew of about 8. The fried sweet potato bites were amazing after a long day on the hill! It’s apparently a great spot to watch KU games, so I’ll definately be returning when I need to watch my alma mater. Definately worth checking out if you’re looking for a low-key bar scene that’s a little off the beaten path.

After walking through and grabbing a drink or appetizer at several ‘Village’(i.e. tourist) venues in Vail during a weekend trip we asked the hotel staff where THEY hang out after work. They pointed us to Altitude, 3 or 4 blocks off the beaten path. It was awesome. Sat at the bar and Shawn the bartender educated me on some high-complexity shots, guys in ballcaps watching the game, and I learned the merits of Frangelico after another patron gave me a sip of his(it tastes like chocolate cake in a glass… were you aware of this? Was it just me that didn’t know??!). And because it wasn’t high traffic we got to play as many games of pool as we wanted for free because no one else was playing. Still close enough that we walked back to our hotel afterward. I wish I could’ve taken Altitude home with me, it would be a regular hangout.
