Best Cuban food in NW FL! Just won an award. Today I ate the chicken Empanada Excellent flavor and lots of chicken. The black beans and rice super tasty, lots of spices. Will be back for the platters. Wednesday is Empanada day $ 1 each.

Tried this new Cuban place, since I love Cuban sandwiches and use it as a way to judge other restaurants.
Overall, the place was cozy and the server was a bit overwhelmed by the lunch rush. The cuban was ok… I really wanted more pork in the sandwich and the flavor profile was off.

Never having had a Cuban sandwich before, I was pretty excited. Everything tasted good but for the cost, I was a tad disappointed in what I got, especially in a divey hole in the wall with zero ambiance. Don’t think I’d go back.

TL;DR: Skip this joint and just go to Whataburger instead.
We flew into VPS and were looking for a decent Cuban joint to hit that craving. This was not it. I had the Ropa Vieja — it tasted like it had way too much vinegar in it and something … mustardy? It was not right. Boring black beans and rice. My husband had the seafood paella — he said everything tasted canned and not fresh. Our friend had The Cuban Sandwich and said it was horribly underwhelming. The tostones were stale and the dipping sauce was a strange garlicky vinegar combo. They had no ox-​tail even though we went on a Thursday. We were all very surprised it’s rated so highly, but then when we went to pay, they asked us if we were military and looked shocked when we said no. As we drove off, if you turned right, you went into the base. So that explains a lot.

Authentic! Fantastic food and great service. They get busy so get there early during lunch time. They are low on staff so service can be slow, but the food is totally worth it. Mostly Cuban, but they have puertorican soda (Coco Rico), empanadas, platanutres and other puertorican goodies. I had the ropa vieja with white rice and amarillos. My friend had the pork, can’t remember the dish name. Both were super flavorful. Reminded me of my aunt’s cooking.

Ox tail dish is so good! My friends said chicken and rice is delicious as well. Oxtail and paella only available thurs-​sat I believe. I have never had plantains but their plantains are delicious! Can’t wait to eat here again. Very homemade style and comforting

receptive staff. They offered free Cuban coffee sample. I ordered the mono pork. Very high fat meat without much seasoning. black beans had way too much garlic. large portion but about a third of the pork was not even meat.

It is always rare when you can find a restaurant that not only serves delicious food but also has amazing personality… Havana Harry’s definitely is abundant with both. We have been there multiple times and have never left unhappy… Harry goes above and beyond to make every customer feel very welcome and special. If you are ready for a symphony of flavors in your mouth… Come here hungry. Wonderful food cooked by wonderful people.

Authentic Cuban food and the first I’ve had on the Panhandle. It’s equal to the authentic Cuban food I’ve had in Tampa and Miami. Chicharrones are awesome! Harry was a charming host!

Great food very authentic! The owner is super friendly and likes to chat with the customers. The Cuban sandwich is awesome and so are the fried plantains (tostones). My husband got the mojo pork, and it would have fed us both.
I was so excited to hear about this place. My mom was born in Cuba & I grew up Miami… so nice to find a little bit of home here in Okaloosa county.

Omg the best Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten!!! The plantains was so yummy too! If I lived here I would eat this at least once a week! The owner was so friendly and made sure we was served and very nice on asking us if we wanted to try the Cuban coffee!!! Great little place with awesome food!

What an amazing café. Stopped in while visiting friends in the area for the best Cuban sandwich outside of Miami. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Great food, excellent service and a friendly family atmosphere.

Soooo happy this place exists!!! The food is great and they have authentic Cuban recipes with ingredients imported from Miami. Also, only spot to get Cuban coffee!!! I def recommend and will be back to try the Cuban sandwich! I had the Ropa Vieja and it was great!

As a first generation Cuban American, my expectations for Cuban food are high. Was a bit skeptical walking in but left extremely pleased with the food. Great Cuban sandwich, Tostones were fried to perfection and the mojo was on point! Will definitely be back to try the pastelito de guayaba! Finished lunch off with café con leche made with Café Bustelo!

Cool lunch spot right out the East gate at Eglin. They usually have daily specials like hot lunches. I just can’t stop eating the Traditional Cuban sammy. Great food and the owners are awesome. Very friendly service.

New lunch spot in Valp! Owner is from Miami, focus is deli & Cuban foods. Real Cuban bread! Had The Cuban sandwich — very traditional & tasty! I dropped a star due there being no vegetables readily available (forget salads!). They use authentic Cuban foods and Boars Head deli meats & cheeses.
