Great pulled shots. Just an americano for me so far, but the service is great. They are very friendly and welcoming. If you can, try the Monkey Bread… perfectly sized«muffin» of cinnamon&sugar, apples, and croissant pieces. Not much more to say about this coffee shop, really just a great experience! Oh, they have free wifi, just ask.

You won’t find a better cup of coffee in downtown Vancouver. You get very talented, knowledgeable baristas without the attitude. bravo.

Consistently delicious coffee, made with care and expertise. A small joint that keeps me coming back! Making the ‘Couve a much better place in the morning! Both Anthony and Zach know their stuff!

Sometimes, as the theme song to Cheers says, you want to go where everybody knows your name. Well, the fact that Zach and Anthony know my name and I know theirs is really just part of why I always want to go to Dripster. It’s mostly the amazing work they do with Stumptown’s coffees. Yeah, lotsa places serve it. Precious few(Fresh Pot, Barista) do it justice. But these guys are total nerds(for coffee, for sci-fi and for lots of other stuff). So they put some TLC into pulling just the right Ethopian or Guatemalan or whatever’s brewin that week. I personally get the 12-oz organic whole milk latte, which is indescribably perfect. But a dark chocolate mocha as a special treat ain’t nothing to be scoffed at either. I live in PDX, work in the ‘Couve. This is the one place that makes me feel like I could actually cut the commute and join the denizens north of the Columbia.

Anthony and Zach, cool gurus of the art, dripped me a slightly imperfect cup and redid it. They were more picky than me and that’s saying something. Discipline to coffee, you have world class execution in a quiet corner of small town USA. Also, just good peeps.

Amazing coffee bar. These baristas know what they are doing with the delicious Stumptown beans. YUMMO! Also, good banter. Best in the county, IMO.

After spending a year in Seattle, I developed a ridiculous love for coffee. Then, I moved back home to Vancouver for a year, and spent a month or two trying to find a good coffee place to replace my Seattle one, without needing to drive in to Portland. One day I was walking through downtown Vancouver, and stumbled into RiverMaiden(Dripster) and I haven’t looked back since. Their baristas are some of my favorite people ever, and make some fabulous coffee. They had my drink memorized by the second time I came in(only a vanilla latte, but I was still impressed) and make beautiful latte art. You can tell they love their job, and it shows in their coffee. Rivermaiden also sells Stumptown whole beans, which is great for those of us who like to make their own.

I walked in at four pm, closing time, and the guy was nice enough to make me an Americano. And yes, it was tasty!

I’m at the Hilton on 6th Street and my flight leaves at 8:30am. In Portland for three days now and due to a series of unfortunate instances I have had only cups of questionable quality so far. I was looking forward to getting home to my Aeropress. I decided to risk missing my flight to check out the River Maiden based on other reviews of the shop and of Stumptown Coffee in general. I was one of those annoying people standing outside 5 minutes before opening, waiting. So to the coffee. Served in porcelain, quad shot topped off with frothed milk. Consumed in less than two minutes, but more than one. BEST thing I consumed all week. Maybe even all year. Thank you. I hope to be back someday, and I’m not just saying that. I will be back someday.

Question: What is better than one River Maiden!!! Answer: Two River Maidens!!! So when and if you find yourself in downtown Vancouver jonesin’ for some caffeine, this is definitely the place to go! As with the shop in the Heights, a trip to River Maiden will leave you with a delicious beverage, tasty treat and a slightly better mood thanks to those super friendly baristas! I seriously love this place… a latte! If you are not use to the area, the shop is a little difficult to find, but look for the sandwich board outside on the sidewalk and you’ll be fine!

Pst… River Maiden is amazing… but only if you know about it. Hidden Downtown on the corner of 7th and Main, River Maiden serves up stumptown coffee, voodoo doughnuts, and other sweet treats in a tiny shop that is trying to gain a following in the mellow commerce center of Southwest Washington. Like their original store in the Heights neighborhood, the coffee drinks reduce any other beverage in town to poorly caffeinated weak sauce. Considering the options I face on my daily commute, I would easily level a city block for one of their lattes. It’s probably a good thing there’s a few vacant storefronts and parks between my office and theirs. And while spectacular coffee is reason enough to swing by(or embark on an urban rampage akin to Godzilla’s) a quick chat with some of the best baristas around makes dropping in a joy in and of itself. A few seats inside and out are a welcome sign to sit and stay for a chat, if only for a moment. Spending my 8 – 5 in this sleepy downtown neighborhood after growing accustom to Portland scene has made River Maiden my saving grace. And not only for the long days at work when the office coffee just won’t do, but also for the hint of a Rose City vibe that makes working across the river in the ‘Couve not so bad.
