Well, I did go back and visit over a year later. I had to take pictures of the milk dispenser, because I didn’t think anyone would believe me when I told them what I saw. I don’t C an option 2 post an image… but I can tell U, I almost vomited. Mold, mildew, rust and pure grossness covered the area where the white milk came out. God help us!

I have been a HTB patron for years and years, before they came to the Vancouver Plaza. When they first moved in, the food was good, fresh, good menu selection, clean, and affordable. Now the menu choices have been the same blasé American fare for the past three years, and the food quality has gone way down from made from(mostly) scratch to fried and reconstituted and reheated. They tried with the hand cut meat like prime rib and ham and turkey breast, but it’s never cooked right for me. The place is was dirty, the food sucked, and it was expensive. Veterans do get a discount, so that’s nice, and the desert bar is the best around! I like the desert better than the main courses. On a side note, if you want to go on holidays make sure you go early because everyone and their uncle goes there.

Ive been here twice and have been very happy and left very full both times. Theres tons to pick from. Ive done dinner only. Not the brunch one although i look forward to trying that one out as well. Pretty much everyone who works there is very nice and helpful. Especially jackie. Shes outstanding! Clears your dishes right away. Gets you drink refills. Always has a great smile and a very very lovely personality. Place is always clean. The ranch dressing i think could be a better quality. But thats the extent of any complaints.

This be a broke dick hometown buffet. 8pm on a Friday night, and about 15 customers, the cook had left for the night, 4 kids running the place? Broke dick! I was visiting my daughter and only had a few hours so when we arrived we were asked if we would like to look at the buffet and the biggest redeeming quality was a whole plank of just cooked salmon. So we decided to stay, and claimed all the Sslmo. Other things that we actually consumed were the orange chicken and some fried chicken, she had some salad bar and I scraped the toppings off three slices of pizza pretty everything else looked pretty stale. There was a big hunk a prime rib and ham that were all dried out, and unattended. Of the 4 observed kids working there, two were actively working and attentive(Jacob & Shira… honestly can remember her name, but the thin black girl, who was scrubbing the tables, and working hard) if I knew someone looking to hire two hardworking kids that stayed polite, I’d send them that direction. As for the side dishes and dessert bar, I just avoided them like the plague. I’m on a motorcycle all day, so do the math. the only skids marks should be from the tires. I think, the managers here probably need to be fired, and some corporate oversight come into play, and get things back to what a Hometown Buffet should be like, packed, loud, but friendly, because there is plenty of food, we except this two ghetto white chick, who’ll fight over the last chicken wing.

Dirty, food was not good, the place had spilled food all over the place, and it looked like part of the bar was abandoned, or under construction. It was just plain icky and I will never ever ever go back.

For the price, dinner for two wasn’t too bad. The food was good and well prepared, hot and fresh from what I could tell. The service however was poor because the check in process is not made very clear. It looks like you just walk in and seat yourself but you have to prepay and get your ticket first. They also don’t have a liquor license. I’m not asking for a full bar but beer and wine with dinner would be kind of nice.

Lol this is old country buffet but I think a sister location or something. The outside looks nothing like a buffet. We thought it was a sketchy place before looking it up and finding out it was an OCB. I believe it was 9 or 10 bucks for lunch. Prettt typical pricing. The food is mediocre. What do u expect? No real good meats during lunch unfortunately. No steak or bbq stuff. Just leftover dry roast beef in cute plates but it’s dry and definitely old. Their fried chicken was decent and edible. Roasted chicken was boring and flavorless. Their mash potatoes and gravy taste like any other location. Their salad bar was fresh and their nacho stuff was the same. Everything how it should be and usually is and nothing gets ya sick or anything. I liked the nachos probably because I was a little intoxicated haha. I mean it was mushy taco meat and runny nacho cheese with canned jalapeños. Overall, typical buffet stuff. Coffee was watery and horrible. Water tasted fresh out the sink. Nice people for the most part.

We came in here for lunch, very hungry. First thing I noticed was that it wasn’t very clean. Had to go through the stack of plates to find a clean one. The idea of the place is nice, but it’s dirty, the cake was so old, my spoon didn’t go through. We also experienced food poisoning The only reason I gave two stars and not one was because we had a good experience with some of the staff. Enter at your own risk.

The wife and me went there for dinner. I picked up a plate to eat and it had mushrooms and some chicken stuck to it. Gross me out. They had no more sirlion steak, they have 3 steak bit on some chili or potatoes. Talked to a manger and he says the steak is just so you can taste it. I told him I go to a buffet to eat all I can, not tastse things. The ice cream machine was broken and he told me they have some deserts in little cups to taste. I think he is running a gourmnet restautant to taste there foods. They are charging more and giving us less food to choose from. i can remember when they had salmon there. Well those days are gone and so am I. They cannot make this right!

Great place for breakfast/brunch on the weekends. Hit or miss during the week and for dinner. Most of the staff are friendly, cheerful, and helpful. For the most part, I think it’s a pretty great value for the money. I can usually find something that I like each time I go. There is a great selection of desserts. So, if that’s your thing, then this is the place for you. Entrées vary and seem to follow some sort of theme every month. They generally have ham, roast beef, and«steak» every night. The ham is fantastic. The roast beef is hit or miss(doesn’t seem to matter what time of day). The«steak» is kinda creepy, and DEFINITELY hit or miss. Most of the time, a hockey puck is probably more tender. Some of the time, the steak looks good going onto the plate, but by the time I get back to my table, it’s dry and overcooked. I honestly don’t know how that happens. It’s magic. Black magic. Every once in a while, they’ll have REALLY good ribs. I’ve noticed that they bust ‘em out at around 4 or 5 p.m. on the weekends. The servers there are fantastic and seem to be underappreciated. Please tip these folks. They put up with a lot of crap from crabby, ungrateful customers. Remember that they probably make minimum wage, and because it’s a buffet, they rarely get tips, even though they fetch things for customers and consistently bus tables throughout your visit. I dig this place. I only have two complaints. One isn’t their fault, and the other is a bit of a nuisance… first, understand that A LOT of retired folks park and eat here for the entire day. Whenever I go, it’s always the same people at the same seats. Usually, it’s fine. On the weekends, though, when there’s a huge line, and people are waiting a long time to get seated, it’s usually because… these folks. Something needs to be done about it. I realize many of these folks are lonely, but sitting at a four top for hours can’t be good for business. Especially when these folks flag you down as you’re walking by so that they can deliver the gospel to you, and complain about how the gays and nonbelievers are causing the demise of our society(yes, this has been discussed more than once). My other complaint is about a female worker. She is FOREVER whistling. Like, the piercing, nonstop whistling like she’s the only person in the restaurant. I realize this is a cafeteria-like atmosphere, but at nearly $ 19 a head, I don’t want to spend my entire dining experience listening to this heifer whistle while she works. Enough already! Overall, I’m a satisfied customer. By Vancouver standards, it’s a pretty decent place to go. Food is good, and it’s a good value.

The waitress who usually serves me is very good. She is friendly and helpful. I go there for breakfast often and I like the crispy hash browns, Belgium waffles, scrambled eggs, chicken noodle soup, vegetable cream soup, and OJ. Paying $ 2 for a glass of OJ is kind of expensive so I try to drink two glasses. I go there around 10:30 am and I am still eating when the menu switches to lunch at 11am but by that time I am too full to eat any more. But I love their fried chicken legs.

So, I’m not usually about ranting and giving bad reviews but when they don’t honor veterans with the same discount they give active duty, I really can’t accept that. My husband did twenty years and change and when we went there last week, no one even asked for clarification of either status. «Thank you for your service but since you aren’t serving, we no longer honor you is the policy», apparently. Tonight, we ask for the same discount and then we are asked and she doesn’t initially tell us she isn’t giving it to us. I have to ask her for certain. She then says, «Oh, no we don’t.» We go ahead and sit down and needless to day, it went downhill from there. It was supposed to be breakfast night and the breakfast section was rather skimpy considering they advertise that deal on Thursdays. The only highlight was a nice server named Taryn. I felt terrible we didn’t get tip money for her. I was still reeling over the discount thing. We aren’t wasting thirty bucks again though for what we got when we can drop the same amount on IHOP and get plenty of breakfast with way more variety and larger portions. Just my rant for the evening.

Decent food for a buffet. A certain kind of unspoken challenge arises at buffets to eat as much as you can. It’s easy to do it here. Normal buffet food, though it seems as though they have more side dishes than entrees. The taco meat was horrible and greasy, but the pizza was great. A wide variety of desserts can satisfy any ones craving for sweets. Would like to see more vegetable options that aren’t fried. Actually, I would like to see less fried food. Might go back if I get coupons in the mail again.

I had eaten here years ago, and it is about the same as then. This is your normal buffet style food, all the food was hot and fresh. Great place to come with the family to eat a lot!

It was hard to find, from Portland. I came here for a small conference, and lunch is part of that. I was directed right away to the room where it was being held, and was offered a drink right away. I wanted hot chocolate, it came from a machine, like all their drinks. That’s normal! They have a good selection of hot & cold, but the one thing that really made me go yuck was their Italian dressing. It looks creamy, I thought it was Honey Mustard, lucky, I only put very little, I thought I’d go for seconds if I really liked it, and I didn’t. It was too vinegary(sour, lemon(?) but tasted vinegar). Our server(hostess) was very friendly. Before I went back to the car, I decided to use their restroom, since I’ll be doing some Christmas shopping after. It was clean, so I’m adding an extra star.

I am a buffet fan, and other locations are good. I did not find this one to offer as much for the same $$$ and the offerings available were terrible. Overcooked. Old. Cold. These come to mind. A plus: they have fried okra(but it was small, old, and mushy. Ick!) If you want to eat with the meth heads, homeless bums, or the obese masses, then come on down. Until then, I will just try to shove my fingers down my throat and spare the 500 fat grams of disgust. Will not be back, even with a coupon.
