Lots of good choices at an affordable price! — Tons of fooooood — A friend of mine & I went for the lunch buffet & it satisfied our Indian food craving… #nomnom… The man who helped us when we came in was VERY courteous, helpful & kind. (His name was Ron. Hey, Ron!) And don’t forget the coconut ice cream… Sooo goooood.

Great food. Love that good Indian food is not easy to find in the outlands of Vancouver but this is a find! Cold night, warm party in your mouth with the food! Friendly and solicitous staff and quiet atmosphere was just the ticket.

This was a great place to try many different Indian flavors at a great price. Owners were there and seemed very happy to answer all questions. Food was fresh and selection was great. Everything tasted great. I will be back.

Two words: Food poisoning. Yuck. I should have known. I hate buffets. I love Indian food, but I just don’t feel right about eating buffets. We were in one of those situations where you end up eating food you know you shouldn’t. We had a super long day doing some christmas festivities and then got lost coming out of the country nearby. By the time we hit Vancouver we were starving, my toddler had eaten every snack in the car and she made it clear she was NOT making it home or even to Portland where we had familiar restaurants. I went into check it out, make sure they had items we could all eat and it seemed ok. We tried to order off the menu, but they acted like that was a weird proposition and it took awhile to even get some menus. By the time we figured out what we wanted to order we’d already been sitting there for 30 minutes and still no server had come by. So we gave up and fed my poor starving kid the buffet. We had some basics, rice and lentils, curry, etc. The owner helped us pick out gluten free items, which was nice. The food was ok. It wasnt horrible. But it definitely wasnt up to par with the portland location or other Indian restaurants I had been to. By the next morning my poor toddler was feeling pretty icky. I will spare details. But all three of us ended up sticking close to home for the day. Luckily it passed quick. It wasn’t violent food poisoning. But definitely some sort of food borne bacteria– I assume from a buffet line of food that isn’t kept hot enough or just general lack of cleanliness. It will be a long time before I feel like eating Indian food again, and I will NEVER eat at Namaste again. It was mediocre food, friendly but slow service, ambience was lacking and depressing, and we got sick. So, all in all… 0 stars.

Indian dinner buffet! Enough said. However, if you want more intel, it’s very tasty with a good number of different curry selections, the chicken in all the dishes was tender, the mint chutney is the closest to my friends mom’s that I’ve had. They had lamb and goat the night I was there. The naan was very good– not the best I’ve had, but… mango and coconut froyo!!! Plus a few other desserts. The two people who taking care of the front of the house who I suspect are the managers/owners were super sweet and friendly. I’m so happy to have finally found a great, non-chain restaurant that’s on this side of the bridge run by great people! It’s way in the back of the plaza with an easy to miss entrance, but worth the extra effort to find. Go get some all you can eat Indian food!

I have not been to this plan in years so my boyfriend and I thought we would try it out. Not IMPRESSED! The place was empty and dark. There were fruit flies all over the place and it had a strange order of a very old building. The windows were dirty and the dust on the lamps was disgusting. My boyfriend wanted to leave as soon as we walked in. I talked him in to giving it a try since the place has been around for a long time. The waitress, I believe is an owner, had so much makeup on she looked scary. I had a very hard time understanding her due to her thick accent but she was very nice and polite. The food was alright. I ate the buffet and some of the food tasted like it was frozen. But for a buffet it was just ok. The food had some flavor to it and was not that bad. Some of the dishes were not clean. The ice cream was very yummy. That was the best part of the dinner. I will not be going back to this location unless it really cleans the place up.

Good selection and great flavors. We enjoy getting take out from the buffet. It comes with a large garlic or regular naan in addition to the large styrofoam container and plastic bowl. The owner(?) always offers our son free soft serve ice cream as well, even when we are just getting take out.

The food is always very tasty and there is a wide selection. The staff is courteous and of asked will leave a pitcher of water for you at the table. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because I bit down on a rather large chicken bone in my Makhni Chicken. I will continue to eat here without reservation.

The food here is fantastic! I saw the Unilocal reviews and decided to give it a shot. The waitress/owner gave us some suggestions and everything was amazing! Atmosphere isn’t special, but go for the food. Pretty sure everything on the menu is authentic and tasty if you like Indian food. Walked away for under $ 30 for two… not to shabby for this day and age! THEONLYREASON I’M GIVING4ISBECAUSEMYBUDDYALMOSTCHOKEDON A RATHERLARGECHICKENBONEINTHECHICKENMAKHNI. The people here seemed nice and I always hate leaving bad reviews that’s why I gave 3 stars but I really would give less because I couldn’t even eat this food. Everything looked old and probably had been sitting for quite sometime. Sorry guys… The one off Lloyd center in Portland is good though

I love eating out and I have been here. Indian is not high on my list of choices for food, but I liked the buffet here. The ambiance is a little blah. The location at the corner of 117th and 4th Plain is easy to find.

LOVE this place way, way too much… Cannot stop myself from over eating here. I just let my belt out one notch ‘fore I open the front door. Palak Paneer is my favorite. Their Chai is very good, and they give a lot. They give a lot of everything ! Garlic Nan is excellent. Its way less formal ’cause of the buffet, so I can go here casual. I wish they had cats to pet roaming around the restaurant ! Indian cats…

If you’re really craving Indian food and this is the cheapest or closest place, go ahead. It will satisfy the basic need. However, if you can avoid it, go somewhere else. Even fairly nearby in Vancouver, there are other, similarly priced Indian Buffets(at least one, which is quite good) that have vastly better food. I realize the Pacific Northwest, and Vancouver/Portland in particular, is not known for having spectacular Indian food. Still, I was pretty floored by the apparent lack of effort put into the dishes here last time I went(I’ve been 3 – 4 times in the past year or two, and it seems to have gone down hill). I won’t be back unless I’m desperate. To their credit, the goat and lamb curries were spot on. Other than that, almost everything fell flat. My husband and I could plainly tell that their potato pakoras were actually frozen french fries breaded Indian style, and one of the chicken dishes was plainly breaded frozen chicken breasts that they had slapped some hot seasonings on and baked or fried. Another chicken dish tasted alright, but seemed again to be out of a packaged already seasoned. I don’t expect everything to be super fresh at a lunch buffet, but frozen french fries as pakoras? Come on. The tamarind was really sweet and the mint chutney was bland, and those were the only two sauces besides raita. The people who run it seem genuinely sweet, and I believe it’s a family business so I don’t enjoy giving this bad review. But really, a tiny bit of effort goes a long way, and it felt like they didn’t even care to try.

Really tasty food. The service is very very strange. The woman at the front seems nice enough, but will just kinda stare at you like you should know how it’s all supposed to go down. It was our first time there, but it seemed pretty obvious. It’s a buffet style place. Would have been a bit nice to have had just a small amount of direction though I know nothing about Indian cuisine. So I have no idea if this place is authentic or not. But most of the food is really delicious. I will go back

I went in for their lunch buffet. The lamb and goat curries were okay but it felt like I was consuming somthing unhealthy. I can’t really put my finger on it but what do I expect? It is a buffet afterall. The rest of the buffet tasted a bit off. At least there was a variety of flavor… The mango ice cream is good. Definitely the highlight of the meal. I wish I didn’t stuff myself full on food before trying the desserts. The service was great.

I had an excellent first experience here … Pluses: Indian flavors Excellent proteins(nice white meat chicken) Spacious dining area Minuses: Décor is played out(the old Sunshine Pizza Exchange) Ingress/Egress to store(the 4th Plain/SR-503 interchange makes entering it a total challenge) Not sure if we got lucky(we came early at ~ 5:30 pm) but everything was fresh and quite good. I will try it again soon for sure.

I met a friend for dinner and wanted to try this place out. Considering my brain is practically fried from work all day, it’s quite nice to walk in, order the $ 12.95 dinner buffet, and start gorging on all the food in sight. I particularly liked the chicken vindaloo. Very good flavor, albeit not too spicy. I also went to town on the naan, chicken tikka masala, and vegetables. The Tandoori chicken was far and away my #1 favorite. If I ever need a huge shot of protein, I’d probably head back here and ask for a tray of it. The lunch buffet goes for about $ 9 or $ 10. If you’re one of those individuals blessed(or cursed?) with a huge appetite, this may be a great spot to try.
