Happy hour food is great! All food is great actually, especially for a bar and grill.

Super bummed that they wouldn’t play sound on the Blazer game on the big screen, or couldn’t?! Food was okay but pricey… the whole«Classy Sports Spot» just doesn’t gel. I will continue my search in the area for an excellent sports bar without any pretentiousness.

Though this place is labeled as a sports bar, the images of the dingy testosterone laden establishments with cheap beer and bowls of peanuts could not be further from this establishment. The space is professional and inviting. Suited as well for families as they are members of the Timber’s Army. It is spacious and well maintained. Though the menu has much of basic items you would expect at a Sport’s Bar, they are in many cases, elevated to a higher class(think gastro pub). Ingredients are quality and my experiences of yielded a very good experience for me. Be aware, though, Main Event shares a parking lot with several other business’, so your time of day is going to effect where you can park. I have not had a problem, so far, but perhaps I am just lucky. Pricing is on the upper end for what you would expect of a Sport’s Bar, for certain. But then again, this is not your standard sport’s bar, you are classing up your experience.

These guys are AWESOME! Not only did they open early for our Auburn Alumni early on a Wednesday… but they did it joyfully and with food and drink specials! I cannot say enough good things about these guys! The food was phenomenal… the coffee was strong and their beer selection is amazing. If you get there soon… try the Nut Crusher Peanut Butter Porter. If you aren’t kissing anyone this week… enjoy the truffle fries(free when you check in on Unilocal)…

We were in town for the holidays and needed a spot to watch some football, so I came in with my family for the Packers/Cardinals game. While the game didn’t go our way, we all had a fantastic time thanks to your awesome staff. The food was great, the drinks were great(and priced right), and it was an overall wonderful experience. Chad, our server, couldn’t have been better. He was attentive, friendly, and professional. I only hope we tipped him enough. Keep up the good work!

I love this place! I used to go in every Monday night for a blackberry Long Island iced tea while watching the game with a few coworkers. This place has a great atmosphere:)

I came in to watch MMA when i was on a trip staying the weekend in Portland. The cover charge was very cheap. It was standing room only but they have an extensive beer list. And the bartenders are able to work the room even when its really busy. I didnt order food but seeing it float around me, it looked really delicious.

We found ourselves downtown and wanted soup. Three restaurants failed to deliver and we landed here. Pretty standard menu, but that isn’t a complaint. The truffle fries were amazing. You must have them – so crispy and flavorful. The sandwich and soup we had were solid. Employees were all nice –our server Lizzy was attentive!

We went to the main event for lunch and had such excellent service from Lizzy that we made a reservation for dinner and had Lizzy at our service there was 14 people, she’s the best server we had all week and we were in Vancouver for a conference, I highly recommend you goto the main event and happy hour has great deals.

We got the munchies and everywhere else nearby is already closed. Boo! So, we were glad to discover this joint opens until 2AM and within walking distance from home, plus a full bar. Score! We ordered just about every item off the Happy Hour menu– because why not? My favorites are definitely the marinated steak tips and truffle fries! Be sure to checkin first to redeem a free order of fries… Which I realized after we had already paid the bill. Oops. Next time!

At this point, I’m just throwing my review on top of the tottering, ready to yell«Timber» pile. So be it. They have some pretty nice Happy Hour specials. As of my last visit, HH lasted until 7PM. If you are in the area, want some good food, want lots of sports on the Tee Vee and don’t mind the noise that is part and parcel of said environment, c’mon down. Far as I know, this is the only place you can get truffle fries west of I-205 and north of Mississippi. There are other places within walking distance if you seek a quieter venue. Free parking after six PM and all day on weekends.

amazing great sports bar. Stopped by during a business trip more than once. Friendly staff, and most importantly great food. Love their daily happy hour menu. Portions are satisfying, and their prices are decent. Will be stopping by again

Went in here late on a Friday dying for some food. The bartender was quick and friendly, especially about getting those truffle fries out! We had a wedge salad, french dip, and sliders. All the food was on point and my Old Fashioned was wonderful. I WOULD have stayed for another drink or two easily, except they had a DJ in there blasting wedding-in-the-late-90s music. Michael Jackson, Cha-Cha-Slide, macarena, etc. And NOONE was dancing. So we ended up leaving earlier than normal. PROS: Truffle fries, awesome bartenders, great drinks, basically all the food CONS: THATDJ :(

Great sports bar. Lots of TVs and bar food way better than average. They know what a real Buffalo wing is supposed to taste like(comes with ranch for the losers and blue cheese for the winners). They will make a burger«rare as fuck» — which is always how I like it. The peanut butter burger was the shiznit. Richard serviced us with aplomb. The downside? No sound in the effing dining room. When I watch the foozeball, I want to hear the mother scratching sound. Is that too much to axe? Apparently so.

We just moved to Vancouver, so we wanted to find a new bar/restaurant to try out that wasn’t far from our house. We are avid Unilocalers and landed on Main Event. We sat at the bar and service was prompt — particularly for a Friday night. The servers introduce themselves to you and they put your name on your tab. We probably had our drinks served to us and orders taken within 10 minutes of sitting down. I got some sort of fruit punch boozy drink and it was pretty good. I ordered my food form their happy hour menu which is from 3PM-7PM…daily. How awesome is that? Everything was reasonably priced and wasn’t more than $ 7. I got the bruschetta which was pretty good, but not your typical bruschetta. It used fresh mozz as opposed to melted. Either way, delicious. My hubby got the guac bacon burger and he raved about it. But I’m saving my rave for now. I got the pulled pork sliders and they were truly the BEST pulled pork anything I’ve *EVER* had. They had some sort of molasses marinade instead of typical BBQ sauce. It was just incredible. Seriously. I was bummed out that I was too full to finish it. Also, you’ve gotta get the jalepeno poppers. So. Damn. Good. Otherwise, the ambiance of the restaurant is cool. It’s kinda got a fusion feel to it all-around and I definitely can’t wait to go back.

Downtown Vancouver, WA has a classic Small-Town-Main-Street vibe … all literally on Main Street. Hidden among the small shops and restaurants is Main Event Sports Grill. Main Event should be your main event for any trip to Main Street … thanks to an upscale and relaxed vibe, lots of TVs with sports, and a decent Micro Brew selection. Still not convinced? Ok, how about some awesome Happy Hour deals twice daily: 3:00 — 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm to close? What, you still need more reasons to go? Alright, how about some free Truffle Fries with Unilocal Check-in? Ya, that got me, too. Who’s gonna turn down Happy Hour and FREE Truffle Fries? Not me. Fresh Squeezed IPA($ 4.5) — 4 stars The draft beer selection at Main Event is a mix of local micro breweries and popular suds. I opted for the Deschutes Brewery(Bend, OR) Fresh Squeezed IPA. It’s an American IPA with 3 types of Malt and plenty of Citra and Mosaic Hops. I loved it so much I ordered it again at another place just a week later. BLT Wedge Salad($ 5HH/$ 9 Regular) — 4.5 stars If you’re looking for the best happy hour deal for value, get the BLT Wedge Salad at a $ 4 discount … plus you can pretend you’re eating/drinking healthy by having a salad. Sure, it’s like a 1000 calories thanks to Bleu Cheese Dressing, Bacon, Tomato Bits, Balsamic Glaze, and crumble pieces of Bleu Cheese, but, at least, they are Yummy and Cheesy Calories. Truffle Fries($ 5HH/$ 7 Regular) — 4 stars I probably would of ordered this even if it wasn’t free. Seriously. I love the mix of thin Fries with Chives, Oregano, Parmesan, Sea Salt, and Truffle Oil. If you’ve never downloaded the Unilocal App, take this as a truffle-tastic reason to do so. Don’t believe me, check out the pic of those fries and you’ll be convinced. Jalapeño & Bacon«Poppers»($ 6) — 4 stars I could of easily enjoyed a full meal by sticking to the Happy Hour deals, but that ended once I saw one of the specials featured Cream Cheese, Roasted Jalapenos, and Bacon wrapped in a Crispy Wonton with a side of Marionberry Sauce. An order is four small jalapenos that aren’t very spicy and provide quite a flavor explosion of sweet ‘n heat thanks to the berry sauce, cream cheese, and jalapenos. Oh, and don’t forget it’s got Bacon which makes everything better. So, a couple beers, the poppers, that huge salad, and those filling fries totally wiped out any hopes I had of getting the Peanut Butter Burger($ 12). I was stuffed … contented, buzzed, and stuffed. If I get the chance to make it back to the Main Event, I’m bringing friends so they can help share the HH deals and allow me to try the PB Burger or a Garlic Burger.
