Kyla has been doing my color for the past three years, and I can say with complete certainty that I would NEVER go to anyone else. I’m a natural redhead, that has darkened with age to a brown-​y sort of auburn. The first time I met Kyla, I had just had a HORRIBLE experience with another stylist — my hair was orange, purple, and terrifying. Kyla took it in stride, and not only did she somehow fix my hair color to a beautiful, all-​one-​color, natural-​looking red, she also had plans for the changes my hair would go through, and what she would do with it in the future. Kyla has incredible foresight when it comes to color, and knows exactly what to do to give you the color you want. She’s made me orangey-​red, dark red, almost true red, brown-​red, and back to auburn. Oh! And did I mention her color never fades once it’s settled? Red is the hardest haircolor to get to stay, and man does her red stay when you want it to! In short, she’s a GENIUS with hair. And all the reviews that say that she’s funny and great to be around are absolutely true as well. Best part? I never get asked «who does your color?» I get told, «You have such gorgeous hair!» I never hesitate to say, Kyla!!! If you’re looking for a hairstylist, go straight to Kyla — you’ll be doing yourself and your hair a HUGE favor.

I have been going to Kyla for 7ish years, I think. She was still at Paper, Rock, Scissors when my sister and I met her. I haven’t found my hair stylist in San Francisco yet even though I’ve been living here off and on for 9 years that is both excellent and reasonable priced. When my sister asked me if I needed a haircut when I came to LA I jumped on the chance.
She is: A) Talented but also knows her limits and will be honest with you. If your hair is not trained and it’s really thick, she will tell you if she can do the hairstyle you want and have it last. If not, she tell you to save your money and come up with alternatives. B) I give vague descriptions, she comes out with exactly what I want. She listens. C) Always a blast to talk to. She has nothing but wisdom with laughter.
Professional and makes sure you’re happy. If you’re not… I hate to say it, you might be the problem.

I can’t resist updating this, since we just got the proofs of our professional photos, and while I loved my hair on the day-​of, looking through the albums I kept saying over and over, «WOW, my hair looks AMAZING!» What a wonderful feeling to know that I looked my very best on my wedding day, thanks to Kyla’s skill and artistry. I’ve been a client of Kyla’s for about 4 years. I had been searching for a new stylist for about 2 months prior to finding her, and through the recommendation of a friend I went to her, and I’ve never looked back. Kyla is one of the best hair stylist in Los Angeles, and is an artist. I have never left even a little skeptical about how my hair looks, and I always look forward to my next appointment because I know I’ll be looking great. All my friends always ask me where I get my hair cut, and I always rant about her.
Some may think cutting a guys hair is simple, but for someone as OCD as I am about my hair having a skilled artist behind the clippers and scissors is a must. Go and see for yourself, you won’t regret it.

Not only was my hair perfect for me & my bridesmaids and for my wedding day, but because my wedding was a destination for many of our guests, she was able to fit in four extra girls at the last minute. And they all looked beautiful!
Each girl got what they wanted — she did a retro hair style for my rockabilly friend, did a fishtail for one girl, rocked my best friend’s short hairdo, and did my up-​do such that I felt like a queen. Everyone looked great in the photos, even at the end of the night after we’d been dancing like crazy.
She’s talented, affordable, fun to work with, and an all-​around gem. I feel completely grateful to have found her online.

Kyla was wonderful! I found her online one late night and was sold after viewing her gorgeous portfolio of earthy, elegant brides. Her work is not typical «bridal hair.» I felt really at ease speaking with her and sharing my collection of magazine pictures of a look I wanted to achieve for our BIG DAY! My hair is curly and fine and has a personality of its own so I was a bit nervous. She is very personable and a genuine. I loved the hair style we decided on. Totally complimentary! Totally me!

On the big day, she brought a nice mix of music, and some treats which calmed my nerves and put a smile on my face. Oh yeah, she also made me a beautiful hair piece with real flowers and jewels, just what I wanted. Thank you for EVERYTHIING KYLA! YOU ROCK! Maui was amazing!
