As others have mentioned, this is truly a hidden jem in Ventura county. I’ve been eating here since the early 80’s and it doesn’t seem like the menu (or prices) has changed much. They have a couple benches outside but most of us are fine eating in our cars! This is as old school as it gets when it comes to burgers and chili cheese fries in Ventura county. If you like that classic chili taste found at Los Angeles area restaurants like arry’s super burger or cronies hot dog, you’ll love this. I usually get a double cheese burger and fries, but on my last visit I was reminded of an old favorite on the menu… the deep flour burrito! Imagine a bigger sized egg roll made out of flour tortilla, filled with beans and cheese. Yeeeah

One of the hidden gems in Ventura! Great food and proportions and it’s really inexpensive. My favorite food to order is the corn burritos with extra sauce and cheese with a side order of fries. They also have excellent Chinese food. I highly recommend this spot.

All I have to say about this place is: WOW!!! This is seriously a hidden gem, my husband brought
for lunch and we ordered the hot wings, which came with rice, delicious! Don’t get thrown– off by the outside appearance of this place is it definitely some of the best hot wings out there! Price is just right!

I had the BJ special, and corn burritos. Food was fresh and delicious! My fiancé had the fish and chips, he said they were great as well! Fast, fresh and delicious… Nothing short of 5 stars!

Nostalgia!
I’ve been going to B&J since back in the day when I would go visit my great grandma down the block. their fries are well seasoned and nothing competes with their burgers. I always get the teriyaki burger with grilled onions. Honestly, I have no clue how their Chinese food tastes, it is never crossed my mind to order. however, having tried their egg rolls, I would imagine there Chinese plates are decent.
It is local and affordable, if for no other reason than that, go try it!

Good price, decent food. I had the burger and chicken. For $ 3 I can’t really criticize the bun for not being as toasted as i’d like. They even threw in jalapeño peppers for me! It is definitely worth the money.

Seedy area for a yummy burger. Not the best thing in town, but very good. I’m always a fan of little burger shacks that can make a killer burger and taco’s plus the occasional Chinese food.
No bathrooms, which seems to be a good thing looking at the outside of the actual place.
Getting a big daddy (2 stack burger with cheese and fries along with a drink) is the best deal. The chicken fried rice is also pretty good. Not over cooked or over oily. Over all I crave this place here and there but a good little stop if your ever rolling through town.

If your time is limited, DO NOT GO THERE! Waited over 30 min for a chicken sandwich & there wasn’t that many customers. After I went up to window, informed them that they needed to get more help, & take way too long they gave me my food. They didn’t seem to care. They also have very bad customer service. As I waited for my food a customer was unsure of what to order & asked if a certain dish was good, cashier (thin Latin girl) looked around & made a face of disgust. Food is ok but not worth the long wait/​service.

Regular hamburger was just over $ 2. However, it is really small, and just average. Then again, what do you expect for $ 2? They offer burgers and some Chinese food, just what you would expect when you drive up.

First visit, cheeseburger and corn burritos. The burger was great. The corn buriitos were sub-​par. Need to change that sauce. I love old burger joints, and Chinese food. Can’t wait to try more… I need to get my Lipitor started before I return.

Ate here the other day and really liked the way the new owners cooked the food. The burger was juicer than before and the chicken wings were crispier. Not as spicy as in the past but was told later that I can ask for different levels of spiciness. Also had a veggie stir fry (special request) and it was SUPER! I appreciate the owners willingness to accommodate our requests. We will for sure come back again.

Amazing Chinese food! I have never tried anything else, but they have a secret house sauce they use that is to die for! Unfortunately, they have swapped owners recently and the wings they serve aren’t as good. Not as spicy, big, or juicy as they used to be. This is a favorite spot for me and my girlfriend, the people are friendly, and despite the bad area, they try to keep it clean.
