Wendy’s

Never had a problem here. Staff has always been really friendly. Every now and then I’ll get a chicken patty that’s a little weird, but not inedible. Inside seems clean. Perhaps it’s improved since the other posters have been here.

This location has improved some from the last few years.
I used to have super bad customer service but I’ve had good responses from managers who have seemed to make in impact on the employees and how they usually treat customers.
I usually do not get french fries as I do not like how they changed them. I order chili instead.

I went to this Wendy’s wanting a quick lunch and I was gladly not disappointed. The order was correctly made and up to par. It was not exceptional, but not bad. It was average and what I’d expect from a fast food restaurant.

Friendly counter staff (thanks Ray!)! Very patient with our picky order. Hot fries! They were «especially good» according to my husband. Everything came out just as ordered, special requests and all!
Ladies room wasn’t gross but could have been tidied up.

Don’t eat here at night. I got off work late and was feeling to lazy to cook so I figured I would get some good olé Wendy’s. I ordered some burgers and nuggets. First off, the guy taking my order didn’t get my whole order. When I finally tasted the food I was glad he didn’t take my whole order because the food was TERRIBLE! The meat was all dried out. The burgers tasted just like how they taste when you microwave them. My buns were hard and crusty. And the lettuce and tomato were runny. My opinion, if the food has been sitting that long don’t give it to customers otherwise you end up with reviews like this, and as someone who loves Wendy’s I will never eat at your restaurant ever again.

WORST WENDY’s ever. Wanted to run through here on my way to an appointment. The guy running the drive-​thru speaker was SUCH a JERK. He kept cutting me off while I was giving my order, and was extremely hostile. And then, after he’d said «yeah yeah i got it» then he had to go back and ask me what it was i wanted on my sandwich. Oh, you mean, what I was trying to explain to you when you kept cutting me off? Yeah, that.
Yeah, I won’t be back.

I’ve come here somewhat often for lunch over the past 8 years. The food has been consistent and fairly fresh. I’ve never really had a complaint. I recommend the spicy chicken sandwich. It’s better than Chic Filet’s! I do not recommend the salad.
Update: I went there with a coupon for a buy one get one cheeseburger. Sweet, right? Cheap lunch right? Hell no. $ 4 for a single patty cheeseburger? What a joke…

The service is bad even by fast food restaurant standards. Go to El Famous next door instead.

Very, very rude employees. I can’t remember the last time I came across someone so rude at any business and I had not been rude or unfriendly at all. I only went there because there are few choices at 11:30 at night. Maybe they don’t like to work that late. Anyway, the guy taking my cash was wearing gloves which defeats the purpose of putting on gloves when they’re preparing food. Gross. Also, they barely spoke English and with such thick accents I could barely understand them. That, however seems to be par for the course for fast food employees in this area. Oh, and the burger was below average.

I’m starting to think I have different taste buds than people in the Midwest. I’m a southern California girl and am realizing Unilocal reviews here in the Chicago ‘burbs are a little misleading. I came to Wendy’s to quench my burger and fries craving. Back in Cali, I love Wendy’s hot and juicy burgers and the sea salt fries. Here, not so much. The burger wasn’t as «hot and juicy» as I remember. When I opened the package, it was all squished and not like I remember. And the fries here were more sea salt than actual potato. Where will I go for a fast food burger and fries now? I’m only coming here if it’s late night and I’m desperate (they close at 1am weekdays and 2am weekends).

Wow, that’s the last time I’m stopping at this Wendy’s (& maybe any other Wendy’s. First of all, the young lady at the cashier (who took my order) was the one who had to put my meal together — which created a longer wait. Secondly, the gentleman taking care of the drive-​thru had to give the cashier cash (for her cash box) & then went back to getting customers’ orders ready. Not sure if he washed his hands before he returned to completing orders.

Yep, caved in due to fatigue and ate here on a business trip. With the company credit card, I chose the comfort food and cheapest meal. Mmmm, it’s okay food and something I can always count on being food.

I’m assuming it’s okay to assume that this Wendy’s is as good as any other. I love this Wendy’s. It has had great quality fast food for at least the past 200 years, and I still get the same moderately unsettling but friendly smile from the drive-​thru guy at 11 PM when I come by to pick up a Frosty.
In recent times, they’ve upgraded their fries from crap to competitive McDonalds material! This is likely from their use of «sea salt» (whatever that is), and not using cardboard for the fries.
Hamburgers are cheap, and great. Frostys are wonderful, they don’t taste like chocolate but they advertise them as so, but they taste fine in their own way. Also, the Chicken nuggets are at least an order of magnitude better than chicken mcnuggets. And they have a bunch of dipping sauces, which, as far as I can remember, they don’t charge you 35 cents for!
I hear their salads and chili are quite good as well.
If you’re in Vernon Hills, put this place on the top of your list for family dining.
