Roaches and horrible service. There is never an excuse to treat people badly. I have waited 3 weeks to post this review to calm down a little. We checked in late the 9th of July. 2 non smoking rooms one was definitely saturated. We slept in the other but we had company! Live roaches in the bathroom. There was a drunk man that fell down the stairs he was trying to get back to his BBQ which he was using in the hotel lawn along with lighter fluid and charcoal. Dangerous and reckless to say the least. We had set up late check out at the front desk pain arrival — on our way back from the appointment we had my daughter called and said they threaten her and told her to get out. I called the office and explained that we had made arrangements earlier, he was rude and mad that we weren’t there to get out immediately. Just went from bad to worse! Nothing like having to put all of your personal items up high because you fear you will take roaches to your new house :(

Stayed here before and it was ok. Seems each time we stay it gets worse. Raise rates, make improvements!(No improvements made but rates raised) Bath tub faucet leaked pretty bad(annoying while trying to sleep) plus the toilet runs.(Water sounds really suck). But hey, they actually had a tub stopper in this room which i couldn’t get last time staying. Hair dryer, broken. Should have figured since there were burn marks on the outlet. Sheets were wrinkled, make ya think they’ve been used so you really gotta look to make sure they’re clean. 2 pillows per bed? Hmmmm thought the standard was 4 per bed. These pillows weren’t in the best shape either. Check out is 11:00 but housekeeping knocks on door at 9:30. Ummmmm really? Oh and please, learn English. Not sure if we’ll stay again. I’m a Truckers wife and go with him once in a while. We like to get a room once in a while because it gets cramped in the truck for the two of us. Not many places have truck parking so it makes it hard to find a nice place to stay. I’ll be looking for other places for sure though.

I’ve stayed at this HoJo before but it wasn’t nearly as bad as the previous review states. This time around was ok. We got in late Friday night and the parking lot was packed. It being the Daytona 500 race weekend I’m glad I made reservations early in advance. Checking in was no problem and even though they had a night window, I was still able to walk into the lobby. I reserved one of the upgraded rooms which I guess at the time were the upstairs rooms. Had I known that I would’ve gotten a downstairs room as my mother doesn’t do stairs well. We got into our room and it looked upgraded: new furniture, new coat of paint, the beds looked newer, new appliances. We stayed there thru Sunday with major problems with the room except the toilet kept running after being flushed. This was fixed by adjusting the plunger(then washing your hands 20 times because ewww toilet water). The one thing that really got under my skin was housekeeping banging on the door at 9:15am-9:30am ish each day when check-out is 11am. They should be doing that closer to check-out time and they should have a list of whose supposed to be checking out so as to not wake sleeping people. Despite this, I’d come back and stay here again as the rates are reasonable.

The first impression I got on this hotel were 3 gallons of piss next to the trash that’s located by parking. Second, room 135 was a sauna. The a.c. did not properly work. This is Florida, if the inside is warmer than the outside, you have a problem! When we called to complain the front desk fussed about giving us another room, but we refused to let our 1 year old baby sleep under those circumstances. He finally agreed and gave us room 204, which appeared to be a better room, but when we went into the bathroom we saw roaches, not just 1, but 5 running everywhere, which is pretty unsanitary if you ask me, especially that they have a sign that the rooms have been inspected etc… Which was revised«May 1999». Last but not least, breakfast! We went over to the lobby and nothing was available to eat. I complained because it states breakfast is from 6 am to 9:30 am. I complained again, the guy said they were limited on supplies and gave us 3 frozen bagels, literally frozen, oh yeah with NO cream cheese. We decided to just walk over to Dunkin Donuts, which is next to the hotel. The honest truth is if we’re just my husband and I we would have slept in the car. This place is a junk! We will NEVER stay at another Howard Johnson again!
