Love the food and the service always subtle and perfect. The new menu is great Have had the scallops, oysters, skirt steak and their version of a wedge salad. Very memorable.

I’ve frequented the wave many many times. The head chef who had been head chef for a while left and boy was that obvious. The paella was subpar and tasted like uncle ben’s 90 second rice. Incredibly disappointed in taste and appearance. The waitress commented that the wave has been without a head chef for a few weeks as the head chef has moved — the taste said it all. The ropa vieja was okay, they’ve made it better and this visit was just mediocre. The ceviche was okay, same with the filet mignon topped with a fried egg. Desserts were nothing special either. Because the atmosphere is so great, the staff are very kind and attentive, and because the food has been good in the past, I am giving the wave 3 stars. I trust that this establishment has done it’s part in revitalizing the vacant head chef position. Hope to taste a difference soon

Went here today for the first time. My daughter has been and this is where she chose to go for graduation. There were 7 guests in our party and only two other tables being occupied in the restaurant by 4 people. The waitress was awful, she took our drink orders she did not write them down, which she should have she forgot who got what and forgot one. Took our food orders she wrote these down but still managed to forget who had what. We asked for to go containers. She took them back to box up and didn’t bring back one of the meals. Needless to say I didn’t feel the food was all that fabulous for the price. Probably would never go back or recommend.

Dinner was amazing! We got the steak, calamari, and yucca fries. Michelle, our server, was the best part. She so amazing and bright/happy. An absolute delight.

Great place to grab a drink at the bar outside. Modern feel. Didn’t have dinner, just apps. Stay away from artichoke dip.

I was really looking forward to a good meal here. I live in Vero, and my cousin & wife from Texas stayed at the resort, and they had a great time there. However, the food was disappointing overall, especially for dinner, and for a place that touts itself as Latin based. I’ll start off with the good: Cousin had the grouper. It looked great and he really enjoyed it. It was a nice, big slab over lentils. He loves seafood and said it was great. His wife had the traditional paella and it was really good. OK, not traditional, cooked in the pan with crispy rice, but still very tasty and flavorful. I had a taste of that, and it was very good, although it was spooned into a paella pan, not cooked in it. My wife had the ceviche trio and Truffled Reggiano Yucca Fries. The ceviche is described below. The yucca fries were ok, but we could not taste any truffle at all. Lay’s truffle potato chips explode with truffle flavor compared to these yucca fries. Just absolutely no truffle flavor; none. Were they out of truffle oil and just thought we would not notice? Who knows. We also ordered three of the four ceviche dishes, but did not order the passion fruit one. I love ceviche, but these are also not at all traditional. The tuna was great, but it was more of a poke, not a ceviche. The other two(Peruvian yellow pepper and Rocoto pepper) were OK, but I seriously question if it was ceviche. The seafood definitely appeared to be steamed or poached, then tossed in sauce. Neither were normal, acidic citrus-style ceviche. I had a full serving of the Peruvian yellow pepper one, and there is no way that the chef(that night at least) can tell me it was raw seafood tossed in their ceviche liquid. The yellow pepper«sauce» was exactly that; some sort of sauce that the fish was tossed in, with a spicier red sauce dribbled over the top, then micro-greens stacked on top of it all. It was mildly flavorful, but a bit bland, and no where near acidic enough, like any other ceviche that I have had, or made. Are they so worried about serving acid-cooked raw seafood that they pre-cook it to eliminate concern? Whatever the reason, if this is what you are going to do, then don’t have ceviche on the menu, especially if you call yourself a Latin based restaurant. The most disappointing dish was my squid ink paella. The very attentive and excellent waiter informed us that they only do this dish one night a week. Great, bring it on! I am a very adventurous eater. However, the«paella» could not have been more disappointing. On this night, it was just flavorless. I couldn’t figure out how it could lack flavor to that degree, especially after trying the traditional version. It was just extremely bland. It needed salt, garlic, etc., basically anything and everything. Then, I found a large lump of rice. White rice, to be exact, when I broke it up with my fork. I am angry with myself that I did not take a picture of it and post it here to shame the chef. So, the kitchen decided to toss white rice in some sort of squid ink sauce, throw in some bits of white fish, about 1 small squid, three 31 – 35 sized shrimp and charge $ 30 bucks for it. It was one of the most disappointing main dishes I’ve ever had. I brought this up to the waiter, and he asked something to the effect of, What should have been done with the rice? I replied that the rice should have been cooked with the squid ink and seasonings so it had some flavor. He said that he would bring it to the attention of the kitchen, but it was never mentioned again, and we were presented with the bill. That is completely unacceptable, and I will never frequent that restaurant again, and tell everyone that I know exactly what I think. I live in Vero. Bad move, Waves Kitchen!

I am sure I’ve reviewed this place before, and I am sure it was a glowing review in the past… Not so this time. The food was all pretty boring actually. The chips that came with the ceviche were flaccid, the Peruvian and Ahi tuna ceviche in the flight were OK I guess, but the passion fruit tasted nothing like fruit. It was very fishy. My husband ordered the Mahi, it was served over a pile of mushed minced veggies and the fish was very dry. My steak was medium-well when I asked for medium-rare. The sauce tasted like rosemary oil, pure rosemary oil. I finished half of my food and asked if it could be boxed… It never was brought back. Oh and the server came to the table WAY too much! This was our go-to birthday or special dinner place, $ 215 for dinner isn’t like going out to Applebee’s. I expected better and we will have to find a new go-to. Leave this one to the tourists!

Very cool restaurant right here in Vero Beach. The setting and atmosphere reminded me of the best of South Beach(Miami) and the food was amazing. My wife had the Paella and I had the Pollo Asado and they were both perfectly prepared and rich in flavor. We loved the ceviche sampler — what flavor! The server was attentive and very helpful offering friendly suggestions as we reviewed the menu, even suggesting the perfect drinks to accompany our food. Great food, a hip cool setting and great service. A definite five star!

Fantastic food! The Mojitos are delicious! We have ordered at the restaurant and had room service from the Wave. From their Late Night menu: Their Cuban sandwich is very good, highly recommend. The Buffalo Chicken empanads, are spicy & good, spinach & artichoke dip is soooooo good! At the bar we ordered Mojitos, tuna tartar, & fried calamari, excellent! Breakfast items which were great: eggs benedict and the French Toast Cubans !! The atmosphere is so nice and the staff is so friendly and very attentive. Highly recommend this place!

This is a beautiful restaurant with a great view of the ocean and lots of atmosphere. After a glass of wine I ordered a Wedge Salad which consisted of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, candy pecans, bacon, blue cheese dressing and crispy shallots. Next I enjoyed a Passion Fruit Ceviche which was a glorious mix of calamari, shrimp, scallop and passion fruit juice. Finally, for my entrée I had the Pan Seared Black Grouper with Shallots & tomatoes and sides of lobster three-cheese mac, sauteed rainbow cauliflower and a second glass of wine .
The food was outstanding, service was just as good but the prices were extremely high. This restaurant is not for anyone that might be the slight bit price conscious. Very expensive.

Great food at pretty good prices(same price as the neighboring restaurants, 100 x better quality) We enjoyed several lunches here, the Ceviche was excellent! Best of all was the service, we ate poolside and the friendly staff were attentive and helpful. Ask for Lori, the best! Five stars are not enough to give to the view! Eating Cuban food looking out at the ocean. Ahhhh.

A bit disappointing. It’s not that the food was terrible, it was just OK. I expect a lot more from a place that is owned by a famous musician of Cuban origin. Prices are high, but I knew that going in. Considering this is a «very nice place» it was kind of shocking to come in and see people in shorts and flipflops, wearing baseball caps at the table. It is very much a hotel restaurant, so I guess you have to expect that, but again — this was supposed to be nice. I was worried that I was underdressed in nice jeans and a dress shirt… If I were staying at the hotel, I could see eating here again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to try it, and neither should you. The service was good, that was probably the highlight of the meal.

This is a wonderful restaurant. The servers are attentive and go out of their way to make you happy. We enjoyed dinner, breakfast, and lunch while staying at the gorgeous hotel. Dinner was amazing, my daughter had the Cuban thin steak, and she couldn’t stop eating, and raved about the black beans. My husband had the Thursday night special lobster dish and was in love. I had a wonderful chicken Cesar salad. We also shared the flan and chocolate cake, and they were both delicious. Our waiter was awesome, went out of his way to make me a Piña colada and offered us milk to go with dessert! Breakfast was amazing. My husband had the spicy version of the eggs benedic, and loved the house potatoes. My daughter had fruit waffles and ate every bite, I’ve never seen her eat so much. I had pancakes and they were perfect, buttery and crispy on the outside. Our waitress was so polite and attentive. For lunch my daughter and I had their burgers, they are made with different cuts of meat and WOW! They were so good my husband kept sneaking bits of our daughters Cuban style burger. He had a Cuban chicken dish that he loved. Had never tried plantain chips before and our waitress brought me a sample, they are so good! She also made me a soda to go! So thoughtful!

Love the ambience and décor of this place! I had the ceviche trio with fried plantain chips… Very tasty… Portions are small but filling. Best gin martini I’ve ever had hands down! The service was exceptional very attentive and prompt. Only complaint was my husband had the filet mignon and wasn’t given the correct temperature he asked for. I would definitely come back.

As visitors of the hotel we frequent the restaurant during our stay. The staff was so very friendly and attentive and the food is always delicious! My favorite for breakfast is the costa d’este eggs Benedict(traditional eggs Benedict but with pork ragout instead of Canadian bacon). It’s to die for! For dinner me and my husband ordered the cowboy steak. It’s a 16 ounce filet brought out on a sizzling cast iron pan. It’s accompanied by a twice baked potato loaded with chorizo and a side of asparagus. Truly can say one of the best meals I’ve had!

My friend and I spent a weekend in Vero Beach and had the pleasure of eating in this restaurant every day. The staff were exceptional and ensure we had everything we needed and was to our liking. The first night we were there we had a complimentary dinner because there was an issue with our room which was very thoughtful. We were informed we could order whatever we wanted. My friend had a seafood platter and I had the lamb chops entrée that was served with vegetables. The lamb was okay not the best I’ve ever tasted but good. My friend raved about her food and loved it all. We had breakfast for the remainder of our weekend trip at this restaurant and feasted every day. The breakfast was so hearty that I rolled out of my seat, LOL when I left. We usually had the eggs, bacon and/or sausages with toast and a drink. We also had the pancakes with fruit which was just as fulfilling. I had the smoothie for breakfast and it was okay, my friend loved hers. We always sat at the same table with the gorgeous views of the pool and resort. Be prepared to spend some money because the menu items were a bit costly but the food was definitely worth it this time.

I recently stayed at the Costa d’ Este resort for a weekend with a friend in April 2015 and was blessed with the chance to try the food at their restaurant. I must admit the menu prices were a little shocking to me at first but after having dinner and then breakfast I understood. In life you definitely get what you pay for. The food served is definitely not cheap in quality so I would expect to pay a decent prices. For my first meal at the Wave I had their surf and turf. My surf and turf meal consisted of a steak and a lobster tail with sides of mashed potatoes as well as string beans. My meal was huge and I definitely had leftovers. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly which does not happen all of the time because most restaurants overcook them. I also could not get enough of the mashed potatoes which came with a warm and cheesy gravy mixture to compliment. When I had breakfast I always went with their signature breakfast but each time I chose a different option. I first tried the Palomilla Hash which was delicious. The steak pieces in the Palomilla Hash were so tender and seasoned well. I also tried a side order of a single pancake and could not imagine that I could ever get through a full order. The pancake was enormous but sooo delicious and moist — pancake perfection. I also tried their breakfast mixed berry smoothie and loved it — not syrupy sweet — just refreshing. The food overall was absolutely delicious and the service was always top notch as well.

Very noisy is the first impression and my score keeps going down as the noise level keeps rising. The plantain butter served with the mediocre bread tasted prefrozen and old –stick to the plantain chips The Cuban food is definitely the highlight. The Blackbean soup is as good as any in Little Havana. Ropa Vieja was moist and tasty. Bone in Strip was a good piece of meat. Paella was a little dry. Server was fun and engaging but not to timely.

We are staying in the hotel, so we went to the wave restaurant. The restaurant was pretty good but not the best, because of that i gave 4 stars. The steak was very very good but the mahi mahi filet wasn’t as good as the steak. The waiters were very nice and friendly. It was very cold in the restaurant because of the air conditionning. All over the restaurant was nice!
