We have been Too Jay fans for the past several years. The last time we ate at Too Jay’s was several day ago. The service was BAD. Our waitress was rude, sassy and unpleasant. Ou soup, had to be sent back twice because it was cold. My French fries were limp cold and soft lumps of potatoes. Our punishment was we waited 10 minutes before our microwaved food reappeared. I had better food and service in an Army mess hall than I received that day. I chalked it up too a bad day the waitress was experiencing. Today I and 5 of our friends decided to have a late lunch at Too Jays. The home made chicken soup which consistently has been exceptional had to be returned 3 times. Too cold. Need to ask twice for a stupid pad of butter. I asked for the gravy on the side and it covered everything on my plate included the under cooked candied carrots. What was once a great place to eat has become one of the worse dining dumps in Vero Beach. Not worth the wait nor the money. Another Garmin erasure.

I previously gave TooJay’s a very poor rating for quality of food and very slow service. I decided to try again as I have had positive experiences in the past. My wife and I both had the rueben with fries. We both felt the meal was excellent, and so was the service.

Salt. That is why you go to a deli. Hot pastrami and tongue on rye. And blintzes.(Wait staff caters to old Floridians, sandwiches are normal sized, and blintzes are dry, but it is Florida, after all.)(So it’s the essence of a New York deli.) Coleslaw is perfect.

We went here for lunch on vacation after hitting the outlet mall. We both had the Dill Chicken Salad Sandwich and it was pretty tasty but the bread had super hard crust which made it difficult to eat. Also the inside of the store needs to be updated as it has a very elderly feeling. A little overpriced but overall not too bad. I don’t think we will be back to this establishment due to better options around town. Also it is a sit down deli, which I found weird, so it does require a tip.

Just came back from visiting my Mom in Vero Beach. She loves this place, and I have to say, the food and service is really good! There is something for everyone on the menu, and everything is freshly made. Be sure to try the homemade soups. We actually had dinner one night, and breakfast another day. You won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure!

Haven’t eaten here in SO long, had a long day out… so stopped by to pick up some sandwiches to take home. This place has an excellent Deli, with so many incredible deserts! I passed on that THIS time! Didn’t take too long, considering how busy they were. But do expect to wait 10 min. or so, if busy. But, you can call ahead, or order online. I did ask if they had an app! The girl didn’t think so, but if not… imagining they will soon, then could order easier if on your way there! Delicious… and will definitely go back again!

Saturday morning and the place seemed conflicted. One waitress was chatting up the busboy instead of waiting on customer. Dirt on my lettuce. The nova platter $ 14 lots of dirty lettuce little salmon. The staff in the kitchen was eating while preparing food. Wiping their nose and hair then touching the toast. The manager seemed nonchalant.

This place is a must every time I’m in Florida! As a native of the northeast, I love a good deli, and this place hits the spot! It’s nothing fancy, but as far as good sandwiches and comfort food goes, Toojays hits the nail on the head. Their sandwiches are all very good. I’ve had the roast beef several times and it is really tasty! My grandmother always has the reuben and she loves it. I tried their homemade meatloaf on my last trip to Florida and it was fabulous. Their french fries are addictive and the killer chocolate cake is a religious experience.

Ate breakfast this morning and loved it. I had two eggs with bacon, that came with a bagel and oatmeal among a ton of other choices. My BF had the breakfast combo platter, the waffle was perfect as was everything else. One star off for cramming us into a tight booth next to the server’s station when there was plenty of room in the restaurant.

We ate there on a Saturday night. Service was slow and food came out wrong. This is not the first Time but will be the last time. We will not be returning

I’ve been coming here for years but only get the old stand by… open-faced tuna melt comes with fries. Always delicious, don’t get anything else.

My girlfriend and I have eaten breakfast here several times. Each time, we pass by the deli counter and promise ourselves to return and try some of the dishes that look so good. Finally, we returned and bought two potato knishes and two potato pancakes. Honestly, they looked so good… we could hardly wait to get home to warm them up! Well…it’s said that sometimes anticipation is better than reality — in this case ITCERTAINLYWAS! Both dishes were horrible. We’ve both have had these dishes elsewhere and were delighted. No so here! When asked, the server said both dishes had been baked that morning. The potato knishes were too doughy — and the bread tasted as if it had been sitting around for days. The potato pancakes were made from hash browns! Seriously, who in their right mind has ever heard of potato pancakes being made from hash browns — not even North of the Mason-Dixon Line would such a travesty be condoned! To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. After months of anticipation, we would’t feed this crap to an animal… after two bites, we threw both dishes out. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to buy anything from Toojay’s deli counter.

Love to stop in about once a month to satisfy my «real» delicatessen cravings. I cherish pastrami, corned beef, brisket and tongue! Personally, I don’t like the way TooJay’s rolls up the meat that is put into the sandwiches so I will usually order the platter which allows me to choose several meats and put it together my way. It costs about $ 2 – 3 more than a sandwich and doesn’t come with fries. For a multi-unit establishment TooJay’s does a surprisingly amazing job at preparing authentic deli. Pickles and slaw are good… they don’t cheat you with low quality here. The meats are from National Delicatessen. Haven’t heard of them… stuck on Boar’s Head or Dietz & Watson… put Hebrew in front of National. I have not grazed the menu here, but have noticed that most of the other guests are split about 50⁄50 between entrees and deli sandwiches. Another thing that I have not done yet is to order desert. Most of the time I like to eat in moderation so when I am indulging my yearn for deli I don’t corrupt it with a sweet-tooth urge.

I’m beside myself as to why this place is popular. For breakfast I had the Breakfast Combo Platter. The two eggs were prepared as ordered. The bacon was cooked, but not as thoroughly as requested. The meal comes with grits which cannot be eaten without cheese or copious amounts of butter anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon. I ordered mine with cheese. Instead of delicious fresh grated cheddar and slice of prepackaged imitation cheese was laid on top. The service was fine, but the quality of ingredients was poor.

Good value, repeat option for me in Vero. Extensive menu. Any disappointment I have is with the fact that not much seems to be made in-house. Examples: the macaroni and cheese is clearly«Kraft dinner». More importantly, the cured meats(pastrami, corned beef, etc), are brought in from a commercial source. Any deli worth it’s salt cures or prepares its own meats, and a chain of this size(several florida locations), should be able to accomplish this. That said there are standout items including brisket with latkes, the Reuben/Rachael sandwiches, and many of the cakes for dessert are excellent. If Toojays was smart, they would sell HALF cakes at the takeout(I asked more than once, and was told it is a frequent request, so why not comply?)
