New No 1 Chinese Restaurant

I’m not really a Chinese food fan but nobody felt like cooking and they had great reviews. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, curry chicken, and shrimp egg roll. The food was very fresh — not greasy at all. Very quick. And the staff was very friendly. We’ll be going back to try those $ 3.95 lunch specials. :)

I usually base Chinese takeout off how they make there general tso, wonton soup, and fried rice. Nothing spectacular, just like any take out. I thought the soup was plain, the General tso wasn’t as crunchy as I would like it to be, and fried rice was average.

Great food! Great price! Friendly staff! This place is awesome. LUNCH special is totally worth the trip! Huge plate of food for under $ 4!!! Definitely a lifetime customer!

I ordered general chicken on the lunch special. It was delicious. One thing I like is they don’t put a bunch of onions and things in their fried rice and that made everything so much better. The food was nice and hot and ready in 10 mins. Really cheap prices too

I’ll forever live and die off of this Chinese dive. I’ll put a limb out and say that it’s the best in this region price to quality wise.
From 12 – 4 are the lunch specials, rounds out with tax to be $ 4.20. Gargantuan sized portions of food, and it’s on point. Not once have I been let down by the food.
For under 5 bucks, you can’t touch it.

Let me begin by saying, I really wanted to take a picture of all our delectable foodstuffs but the way my pregnant belly is set up — naw, wasn’t happening!
We stumbled upon this quaint little place while mattress shopping. The little one requested chicken fried rice & I whipped out the handy dandy Unilocal app to find the best options nearby. Viola! My fellow Unilocalers led me here! I ordered the pepper steak & I was not disappointed. It was just what I was looking for — tender steak & crunchy bell peppers & onions. The pork fried rice & egg roll was really good too! Everything was just so fresh & cooked perfectly. The taste was really different from what I have usually found in this area which made me crave more! The hubby enjoyed his General Tso’s chicken & the little one loved her chicken fried rice so I’m sure we will continue to go back even though it is a little out of the way for us. So that leaves plenty of time for me to snap some pics! ;)

Food is always good. Especially the egg drop soup. It is hard to find places that have great egg drop soup. The prices are great as well. They don’t over charge as some other Chinese restaurants will do.

I live in the area of Chimney Hill, and for a quick lunch, or to get something for supper, they are fast, and have great prices.

Had the Singapore noodles and hubby had General Tso combo. We were both happy with the portion sizes, even though we could barely finish our plates! The food was very tasty! Highly recommend for taste, portion size and price. Only downside, foam plates and not the strongest plastic silverware. Still, we were easily able to use what they had and were glad we found this little place!

Great food… I usually get their take out at least 2 times a week and Isnt because they are the closest to me, its because they have the best tasting one within 10 miles from me. Which I have tried almost all of them. I actually lucked into this place because the other one I use to go to gave me some terrible beef broccoli one day so the next time I was in the mood for it, I decided to give new number 1 a try and I was hooked. Now whenever I feel like a egg roll, general Tao, or anything I call them and its hot and ready to pick up in 10 to 15 min

Great food and it is really really cheap! Their lunch special is awesome, especially for the generous portion. I usually get the sesame chicken and egg drop soup. My coworker is a big fan of the beef and broccoli. Everything is flavorful and the meat is very tender. They are also great for orders called ahead of time.

My brother and his boys were stopping by after a camping trip to the OBX. I hadn’t had dinner and figured the fellas would be hungry when they rolled into town.
I ordered vegetable pancit and General Tao’s chicken. It was pretty decent for takeout chinese. Even my 10 year old nephew liked it, minus the «green stuff» (broccoli).
I look forward to returning and checking out other dishes.

Friendly service and really good Chinese food. The Happy Family and Subgum Wonton soup were delicious. The vegetables, meats, and seafood all tasted fresh and full of flavor. The shrimp were a really good size too! It was definitely better than I was expecting.

Visiting in Virginia Beach found this place thru the two reviews posted. Love the food and service, there willing to cook to request. The portion is generous and price amazing.

First of all, I couldn’t believe that this place didn’t have one single review! We LOVE this place!!! I live around 10 miles from this restaurant and completely drive out of my way (way out of my way) to eat here vs. any other chinese take out. They 100% of the time get your order correct. They are polite and have your order done within 10 minutes usually. Everything is always cooked appropriately and is always great. They also carry my favorite type of fortune cookies that have the slight lemon flavor to them.
The beef skewers are the best around. The chinese donuts are fresh and made to order and are the absolute best I have ever had! You have to eat one before you even get out of the parking lot! :)

I have been going here for years. The food is always good and you cant beat the price. The lunch special is under $ 4.00 and gives you plenty to eat. The food wont blow you away but is on par or better than most fast food chinese joints. They are usually fast on service, but faster if you call ahead during busy times. Check them out.
