I agree totally with Carrie R. The staff was less then welcoming! When I bought my wedding dress there in 2002 it was ran by different owners. Those owners made you feel welcomed and special. I took in eight(8) gowns 2013. The owner told me that she could not take anything that was stained or snagged, understandable… but they sure came back to me snagged. I pointed the snags out to the woman behind the counter when I picked it up and she let me know they were not liable. The items that they take in must be in perfect condition… really…so I asked about shoes. She told me that they could not be scuffed or show wear on the bottom… I said, «Really?» then pointed out a pair of shoes that were VERY worn and VERY scuffed on the bottom. Her reply…“That is different, those belong to her!”(and pointed to the other woman working behind the counter. The contract… nothing in favor of the client at all. I WILLNEVERTAKEANYTHINGTHEREAGAIN or SHOPTHEREEVERAGAIN!!! They won’t miss my business… I am sure. Nor will I miss their shop. I stand by this review 100%!

Marsha was very helping when shopping for a friends Wedding Dress. She had a large selection of good quality dresses. Some were even brand new! We didn’t find the«perfect dress» but it was worth the stop!

My wedding gown never sold here! I posted it on craigslist instead and sold it in less than a week!!! It was at this place for over 6 months. What a waste of time!

Ok I’ll admit it: my mental image of a consignment store wedding dress is a used 80’s style with puffy sleeves and too much cheap lace, and at first I was hesitant to even look here. However, when I finally did I was really pleasantly surprised. First, they have a good amount– at least 50 or so-dresses, and the majority are brand new! They have modern dresses on consignment from bridal boutiques, some of which must be pretty high end, and they are at a fraction of the price you would normally pay. They also have Mother of the bride dresses, prom dresses, etc. The owner is really nice and helpful and there is a little room where you can try things on. If you’re in North county it is definitely worth stopping in… if you get lucky and can find«the dress» here you will be getting a great bargain!

My daughter needed a hoop skirt and petti-coat for a college theatre production. They are not easy to find so I was thrilled when Garment Gourmet had a whole rack to choose from. The ladies were very sweet and helpful and the prices were reasonable.

I came here specifically to look for wedding dresses, after reading Unilocal reviews. $ 900 for a wedding dress might be reasonable for some people, but I just don’t have that kind of money to spend, especially at a thrift store and before alterations. However, I’m not familiar with brand names in the wedding gown industry, so for all I know, those prices might have been bargains. There was a fairly large selection of wedding dresses for a thrift store, and it seems a popular place to get them… I went during my lunch break, and a teen girl was trying some on, but for something other than a wedding.

I’ve used Garment Gourmet on several occasions to sell clothes that I no longer wear, purses I no longer use, shoes I never wore and even jewelry I don’t wear any longer. I don’t want to sell my wedding dress, but they have a large selection of wedding dresses too if you’re looking to sell yours. They have always priced my items fairly and it feels great to get a nice check after my items are sold. This is a lot easier than having a garage sale! They recently redecorated the shop and it looks great! Very chic and organized. The staff has always been friendly and helpful with any questions I have. I would highly recommend this shop for selling and shopping of gently used and sometimes never used items!

So I’m semi-new to the whole thrift store shopping because the idea of sorting through a bunch of mismatched and used things used to give me a headache. I LOVE this store. I went in and was greeted by the owner who was VERY friendly and advised me everything was 20% off that day and there where some great deals outside if I wanted to check them out. It’s VERY organized and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I glanced at the bridal gown section and they have some really beautiful gowns most with the tags still on them for SOOO cheap. I would actually probably look here when I’m getting married! So the reason I gave it 5 stars is: organization is amazing, clean, prices are VERY good, staff is awesome, clothes are clean and very well selected, and also for a selfish reason. i had my best thrift store find EVER here. I found a Volcum dress that my roomate has that I’ve been coveting for over 2 years… New. In my size… with the Macy’s tag’s still on it. for 10 $!!!

Absolutely love this place. Came here on search for an affordable wedding gown after the most horrible trip ever to Davids Bridal. Actually bought my wedding gown here and fell in love with the customer service. I went back probably 4 times before I made the decision on my dress and everyone that worked there was so helpful and patient with me making my decision. The wedding gown I bought was never worn still had the tags on it… was absolutely gorgeous and I didn’t break the budget! Thank you Garment Gourmet for such a wonderful experience!

Great prices(so great that I have to wonder about what they pay for their consignments) and eclectic selection. Staff seemed nice but only of them greeted us when we entered. Would like to go back closer to a wedding that I’m in to try on shoes…

OK, this may be a little weird coming from a guy but this place ROCKS. My fiancée and I had 2 days to get ready for a wedding and one trip to Garment Gourmet solved a lot of our issues. My fiancée(now bride) came, saw and conquered. She found a beautiful, and I mean beautiful dress and with a small alteration was ready to go in just one day. What a great selection and the staff was quite helpful. If you want to find great deals, this is the place.

This shop was totally amazing. Great prices, great service, great items. Went in looking for wedding dresses. Found four that I loved, found two that were perfect. The girls were great. I felt this was the perfect place to go for a deal on a gently worn dress. By the way, all of the dresses looked brand new– some were!!! If you like excellent resale shops, this is your place.

This is a great place to get a wedding gown on a budget. I got a $ 1500 gown for $ 400 and it still had the original tags on it! They have a lot of veils, tiaras, petticoats, etc. all for great prices. I’d stop here before paying full-price at typical bridal stores. On a side-note. I reconsigned my gown after my wedding and got most of what I paid back when they sold it! :)

BEWARE! I went to the store to consign 3 new w/tags high end bridesmaid gowns. I was told I need to sign and inital their contract. I was told the dresses would be sold at 50% of retai and asked how much retail was. I said retail was $ 289.00ea and the clerk said then we’ll sell them for $ 90ea. I was concerned because that wasn’t 50% she seemed confused and said ok I thought they where $ 189.I expressed my concern at the language on the contract which is written to completely allow them full rights to change prices on your items, and to reduce the prices at any point during your 3 month contract. I only wanted to be able to donate the items myself if they didn’t sell at a reasonable price. The clerk said they don’t follow the language of the contract that I needed to inital it but ignore it because it didn’t mean anything to me. I told her I wasn’t comfortable w/signing something that wasn’t true. I told her I had only recently heard of her store and just wanted to be careful(afterall I was leaving approx. $ 900 in dresses w/her) She said she had worked there for 6 years and while I’m not interested in how long shes been employeed and I am always concerned when your asked to sign something then told verbally by the company that the signature doesn’t mean anything and that they don’t follow it. I didn’t leave my dresses and I suggest any consigners be careful!

Am I cheap or extremely savvy for purchasing my wedding dress here? You decide, but either way, I got a gorgeous dress for about $ 600. I looked it up on the Demetrio’s website and it retailed for $ 2,000. I actually didn’t plan on buying my dress that day, but sometimes you just know. My mom is a huge fan of consignment shops and a big penny pincher, so we just stopped by for the fun of it. I admit there were a lot of losers there(speaking in terms of wedding gowns), but it’s worth sorting through if you’re lucky enough to find that one gem! Also worth mentioning, the sales lady hovered over me like I was the only person there, and they directed me to a wonderful seamstress for the few alterations I needed.
