What can I say about Va Piano except it was my favorite winery on our weekend trip to Walla Walla. We had heard great things about this winery at the Seattle wine show and also found out the wine maker is from our alma mater so we had to check it out. The winery had a great indoor tasting area and also some outdoor seating as well. We tried both of their tastings(the original-$ 5 tasting and the reserve wine-$ 15 tasting). It was wonderful to be able try their full range of wines. The reds were big(which we loved) and we really liked the Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and the De Brul Cabernet Sauvignon so we got both bottles. The De Brul Cabernet Sauvignon was part of their black label and it was probably one of the best wines I have had in a long time. I loved this place so much I already signed up for their newsletters and am hoping they will be over in the Seattle area again for an upcoming wine show. This is definitely a must try/stop while in Walla Walla.

We’ve been to Walla Walla three times and been to numerous wineries. Va Piano wines are outstanding! 2011 cabernet sauvignon with strong notes of cocoa, lavender and blackberries… The 2011 Syrah is beautiful… Their Black Labels, you better sit down for these wines! Thank you Josh the winemaker for all your insight on these incredible wines… We look forward to returning to your beautiful estate winery.

If you want to be where the action is in Walla Walla, go to Va Piano! Stopped by here yesterday afternoon to have a glass of wine with a friend… The place was packed but not in a shoulder to shoulder sweaty concert kind of way, more like a beach atmosphere… groups all around the lawn enjoying wine in the grass, picnic tables, near firepits, at the wine bar… kids hulahooping, plus a photoshoot of winery dog was taking place! Bonus: Also ran into an old friend… only in Walla Walla! Very relaxed experience, I felt like I was taking a part of the experience home with me rather than just visiting a winery and having a $ 5 taste… much much more than that. It’s a beautiful setting, can’t wait to go back! Oh and the wine?.. Hard to beat! Just go!

Horrible and unfriendly service by some blonde chick at the bar. Overpriced mediocre wines.

A quaint joint with great wines and lots of varietals. A small patio and lawn with seating makes it a comfortable way to spend a couple of hours. We enjoyed a chilled rose‘ from some rocking chairs under the sun — hard to beat!

One of our favorite tasting experiences in WW. Very pleasant staff, good wines, no tasting fee, kid-friendly.

Over thanksgiving weekend, my wife and I travelled to Walla Walla to immerse ourselves in wine country and visited 10 wineries. Va Piano made the top of our list. We both thoroughly enjoy touring wineries, but for varying reasons. My wife appreciates the ambience the most; externally Va Piano provides an idyllic setting amongst the vineyards, Inside the tasting room is warm and inviting, well decorated and filled with items for purchase or for browsing. I enjoy sampling the best red wines each place has to offer, and on this account Va Piano also delivers. The red Cabernet Sauvignon were full bodied and smooth. We both enjoy savoring the bouquet. All in all Va Piano provides the complete package my wife and I seek for great wine tasting experience.

Great location and staff, enjoyable wines The tuscan style building, the dogs, the great service etc. all added up to a very enjoyable visit. It was our first tasting of the day, so the wines might have just been too bold to start the day with. They all tasted good, just didn’t blow us away for the price. I’ll try them again on our next visit a little later in the day, because I know several people that just love, love, love their wine. So go and find out for yourself!

Beautiful Tuscan Villa style building. On our 3 visits to Walla Walla, we went here each time. It’s a decent sized tasting room just off one of the roads. The service is excellent. We LOVE their Syrah — give it a shot. Many great $ 40 wines here.

My boyfriend and I were sent here when we were visiting Walla Walla by someone who told us that, if we loved big syrahs, this was where to go. Well, it was lovely, but it wasn’t the sort of knock-your-socks off red that we were promised. The setting is beautiful, but the décor felt just a bit cliché, wannabe Tuscan for me. I guess I prefer wineries that invest in where they are, rather than trying to project an Italian or French feel. Still, the wine was very good, and the people were lovely. I will probably stop here again.

Fantastic location, nice set up and very friendly staff. They also even have some«interesting» artist living above the winery that was a monk or something in Italy. I guess he does classes for those interested as well. My second favorite winery of our trip. Really loved a special reserve they were tasting.

The wines were not«amazing», but they were enjoyable. Of course reds have to age for awhile to speak their full piece, and taste in wine is so subjective I’m reluctant to judge too harshly. What’s cool about Va Piano is the building, the ambiance, the great service. The tasting room is small, but we were the only ones there. There was a winery cat straggling around. It was all very charming. The man behind the counter later turned up as our waiter at a restaurant in town, lending an eery and playful sense of continuity to our trip…

This winery is just plain beautiful. Worth stopping by just to see the building, the vineyard and the grounds. Conveniently located on the South side between Waters and Pepper Bridge, this is a great place to stop and eat the picnic lunch you brought along on your Walla Walla wine tour. The wine however is overpriced for the quality. After 4 visits, I feel it’s just OK. Others love it though, so try for yourself.
