I usually color my hair at home myself — and make a mess — so this was a real treat. Myriah did a superb job. She really listened to when I said I just wanted my natural hair color back. She even looked at photos I showed her on my phone. Then she did the impossible. She restored my natural color. And she gave me a great little haircut to go with it.
I will definitely go back.

I would give infinite stars if it was an option. A few years ago I was recommended to Jenna by a friend. I cannot believe what a stroke of luck! I have very thick hair that has some wave in it. It’s very pretty but now that it is almost completely grey it is more wavy and unruly. I have always had difficulty finding a stylist that was confident enough to know a good cut for my hair and carry it out. My first experience with Jenna was very positive. She did all the things we want a stylist to do: listen, discuss, and follow through on our requests. What I was and continue to be most impressed by, is Jenna’s ability to innately know what the best cut would be for my hair, the best coloring options to cover my grey and make it look natural, and she is dependable. The stylists in the salon are very responsible about taking continuing education and sharing the knowledge among themselves. At my last visit, the salon was implementing a new treatment from Malibu brand that not only makes hair look and feel healthier, but also maintains the color. Unlike many salons, the treatment was being introduced to the clientele at no cost. Customers could experience the treatment and it’s benefits and then know they would want it as an add on in the future. Colorz is a very professionally run salon with an intimacy with clients and friendly goodwill. We are very lucky to have Jenna locally as she could easily be in SF with a long waiting list, charging a fortune. Jenna truly enjoys what she does for a living and it shows because she wants her clients to have what they enjoy as well — beautifully cut, colored, and styled hair.

Jenna is awesome! I went in for a cut, color, brow shape, deep condition and consultation through a living social deal. I’m soooo glad I bought that deal! I went to redeem my Living Social voucher for haircut, conditioning, partial highlight and brow wax and was pleased with all 4, especially the partial highlight. There is convenient parking in the back and it’s a cute little salon. Jenna really did a great job and I will not hesitate going to her again, especially for color.

I have gone to Jenna twice now, to redeem the Living Social deal for a cut, color, deep condition, and eyebrow wax. Both times I have been really pleased with the results and I have a really enjoyable time when I am there. Jenna is really fun to talk to and she is a great listener. She was very patient and flexible with me as I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, and she helped by suggesting a few ideas which she thought would work well. The price is affordable, she does free bang trims between cuts, and she said she offers student and other types of discounts as well. Great service!

I have to say the all 5 stars makes me wonder if friends are just writing reviews. Although Jenna is incredibly sweet my satisfaction with my experience ends there. I waited almost 3 weeks to write this thinking although I was unhappy I just won’t go back and that will be enough. But every day I have to fill in my eyebrows my aggravation grows. She didn’t leave much on my facebut what she did leave isn’t even matched correctly. And today for the first time I straightened my hair (I normally curl it) and I was appalled. The layers (that I didn’t really want) are painfully choppy, the cut is uneven, and overall unprofessional. It looks as if a child took scissors to my hair in my sleep. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will. Don’t trust a page with all 5 star reviews.

Jenna is incredible! I got a cut, highlight, eyebrow wax, and deep conditioner. My hair looks amazing, the cut is perfect, and I enjoyed the cute little salon. I will be back for sure!

Jenna is great. She fixed my bad haircut. I am one picky person when it comes to my hair. I usually have to go back to a hairstylist after they cut it to have them fix whatever is bothering me. I loved Jenna’s cut and I didn’t even have to go back to her to have anything fixed! Will see her again soon.

Denys had been cutting my hair for several years when I ended up moving to the east bay about a year ago. I tried out another hairstylist closer to home and was disappointed. I ended up going back to Denys and realized I just love the way she cuts my hair! Would be worth even a longer commute!

Jenna is wonderful in every way. She knows her stuff and makes you feel comfortable from start to finish. After a trim, highlights and deep conditioning, my hair looks and feels the best it has in a long time.

Denys has done wonders with my hair, and believe me, i’ve been to dozens of salons. For me, going to a hair dresser is like going to the doctor and trying to explain the symptoms. Denys put me at ease, let me explain what was going wrong on my head, and then helped heal my hair! People everywhere notice the difference – with the color and the cut. A very talented, understanding, great communicator.

I needed a new colorist and hair stylist and looked to Unilocal to find. First one didn’t work out so well and so I looked to Unilocal again and found Jenna at Colorz Hair Gallery. What a great find! She really listens to what you need. She is so pleasant, nice, upbeat, talented and dedicated to finishing everything just right. I have MAJOR white hair and after a few visits, she has me down perfectly. She is taking my hair to a different style for the first time in my life and I feel great with the results. I hate to even mention price, but WOW, what a deal she is. It has worked out so well I feel I shall be going to Jenna for a very long time. Conveniently located, good parking, incredible value, it’s all good. Go Jenna!

I’ve been seeing Denys for about 2 years now. She is amazing with color and a wizard with scissors. She is always trying new and better techniques to get my color to last longer, shine more and yet, keep my hair healthy. I have always worn my hair straight, but she has been able to help me realizea headful of natural curl. All the other hairdressers I’ve had have just told me I have «curly spots» that they have to adjust for in their cuts, rather than actually developing what’s there naturally. She has a great shop (with its own parking –a plus!) She also uses it to showcase and support local artists so it never looks the same twice. If you’re looking for someone who has a great color technique, understands hair, is genuinely nice and runs a great shop then you need to be here. You’re wasting your time elsewhere.

yet also very artistic with hair.
More than a salon, also a fashion and art gallery. Extremely reasonable

Jenna took me from platinum blonde to a warm and natural brunette. I really have no idea how she managed it but you’d never know my hair was dyed. I’ll try to find a before and after picture.

Denys (pronounced like Denise) is super AWESOME!!! =) What a talented hair stylist!!! I have not had a hair cut in almost 2 years now just because I am trying to grow my hair long again. Denys was very nice, warm, friendly and very welcoming! We had fun talking about The Bachelor (Brad and Emily — woohooo!) while she was giving me a hair cut. She is very professional and very skillful with her trade. I cannot wait to go back to her and schedule my next hair cut appointment. She is worth every penny! Also, her salon/​gallery studio is a very interesting and fun place to be. Denys is highly recommended by me! =) Keep up the amazing work.

Reasons why I think ‘Colorz’ is awesome:
1.) Great person to be around. Jenna is fun, hip, very trendy, and super laid back. Awesome person to talk to.
2.) Super reasonably priced. When I was college, my stylist would charge me in excess of $ 100 just for a cut and color. Not the case with Jenna. Plus, she’s so generous she’ll often give you free samples of different hair products!
3.) Really knows her stuff. She can take a look at your face shape and coloring and suggest a style that’s perfect for you. Great with color and asymmetrical hair cuts.
4.) Sensitive to what you want. If she does something you don’t like, she’s always open to hear your feedback, cut your hair to where you feel comfortable, and generally, give you the best experience possible.
5.) Cool environment. Jenna’s domain is set in a cute salon in downtown Walnut Creek, full of equally talented stylists, boutique style jewelry, and adorable purses for sale.
So, yeah. Jenna’s awesome. Very happy with my hair, and it’s always a pleasure to visit ‘Colorz’.
Also, ask for a razor cut when you’re there, if you wanna try something new! :)

Jenna is awesome. I got her name as a recommendation from a friend. She is very nice and pleasant, I loved her! She gave me a cut I’ve been wanting for years now, when all other stylist always talked me out of it. I got tons of compliments on my new cut, I could not be happier. And the most important thing, she did not charge me nearly as much as other salons do.
