The Santa Barbara burger – avocado cheeseburger on sourdough – is epic. The fries and onion rings are good, but the tempura green beans are amazing. Only the prices keep them from earning 5 stars, but they are aptly named… like the Terminator, I’ll be back.

Unfortunately not a restaurant I can recommend after paying $ 10 for a meal & the cashier was terribly rude. I ordered a well done sandwich & when she announced the sandwich to the cooks she did not request well done. I repeated my well done request & she said quite rudely«you didn’t say that» while giving me a dirty look. Wow. When I requested the managers name she pointed to the girl right next to her. I voiced my concerns. She said«I’ll talk to her». The Habit may want to consider mature management that understands the importance of providing god, courteous service. Impressions are lasting.

The food has always been fantastic but now their service matches up. I decided to give them another chance after being contacted by their corporate headquarters. My char burgers were delicious and were ready within a reasonable time. The employees who helped me had a great attitude and were very pleasant. I will be going back here on a regular basis again!

I am not a fan of hamburgers at all. But I do like the mushroom burgers from Habit. Probably the only place I would eat them outside of homemade stuff of course.

Customer service was great in the back of the kitchen. But the front register lady wasn’t too friendly. Overall I’d give it a 3⁄5.

I used to come to this location in specific many times for amazing service and the best burger, EVER. The last two times I went, both things have changed. I want to try one more time to rekindle the habit goodness but I don’t think I can.

While it’s not the best, it probably is the best in this surrounding area. Great seating both inside and outside.

I’ve given this place two chances. Once shortly after they opened, and again recently. The bottom line for me is their burgers are thin, overcooked patties. The fries are good. My family completely agrees with my assessment. Even though my guys tried the bbq bacon burgers, that still couldn’t cover up the fact that it was a thin, overcooked burger. No thanks.

Disgusting. Watched the cook sneeze into his un-gloved hands then grab 4 buns. To make up for my disgust, they tried to give me vouchers for 3 free burgers. Yay! I can catch some stanky virus three times over for free! Nasty place.

Best burger in a looong time! Fresh, fast, and friendly. Look people, it’s a burger… It’s not fine dining, but all in all– pretty damn good :)

Habit is a reliable Burger place in Walnut Creek. They have plenty of seats and are quick. They mostly serve burgers and sandwiches as well as some salad options. I have had their regular burger and veggie burger and both are delicious. These are not gourmet burgers but they are definitely filling, yummy and inexpensive.

I went to the one in vallejo… where their meat was a better quality… this franchise has decided to cut corners and use a crappy pattie… lol…on a more serious note… my burger was sloppily assembled… after unwrapping it I noticed one of my nasty ass patties was hanging halfway off the burger… I had cheese, bacon pieces and avocado all over the damn paper, my fingers and with each bite it got worse… for 10+ dollars with all the extras I got… this place sucks… I’m going to keep getting my burger fix fulfilled at the grato deli in emeryville where they use Neiman ranch beef and charge the same price!

I enjoyed my first time experience at this The Habit. The cashier was a very friendly girl and then person handing me my to-go bag was friendly as well. He was considerably older than the other workers there, so I wonder if he is the manager. My wait was not very long even though it was already 6pm. My favorite burger here is the BBQ Bacon burger, which I ordered that night. When I got home, the buns were not soggy at all and still tasted fresh. What amazed me about this burger this time was that it felt like there was sufficient bacon. The previous BBQ Bacon Charburgers I’ve ordered before have not had enough bacon in them — even the ones with extra bacon, but the one I had today had very good proportions. Aside from the proportions, I love eating burgers at The Habit — not only because of the taste, but also because how easy it is to eat the burger. My burger doesn’t seem to fall apart as easily as burgers in other places, such as Five Guys.

Originally, I’ve only been to The Habit down around LA area. When I moved to the East Bay and I found this place? HEAVEN. Sure… Super Duper is good. In n Out is good… Five is good… But The Habit? It’s delicious! ESPECIALLY their onion rings; fried to perfection! Decent pricing and in a good location. The line usually goes pretty quick at this location but unfortunately, there’s limited seating. Theyre almost all booths so even if youre just a party of 2, you would take up a booth that should sit 4. Service has been great here, they have yet to mess up any order during the countless times I’ve been to this location. Definitely a good go to spot if youre craving a burger and some delicious onion rings! #onionRingsOnFleek

This place is really good and that’s a plus considering I’m not too fond of burgers. It’s shocking that they are a fast food place. I came here once before and they took a little long getting me my food. I honestly did not mind but they were so apologetic and gave me a free burger coupon. Keep in mind the parking is pretty bad. This place is located in a lot that shares parking with like 7 businesses.

I’m giving this three stars only because they are pretty inconsistent when you get food to go vs. dining in the restaurant. Dining in the restaurant, they seem to take pride in what they serve you, however, when you order food to go, patties are noticeably smaller and has a significant decrease in the amount of toppings. I was truly disappointed last night when i ordered a Mushroom Char on sourdough, only to come home and find that it was basically a bread sandwich with bitch thin patty and hardly any mushrooms or those tasty caramelized onions =[ Will be dining in from now instead of take out because they have an awesome price point and onion rings that make me bliss out Come here if you want BOMB onion rings. For real.

Such a great fast food place! Why can’t all fast food be like The Habit? Tasty char burgers and salads and the fries are good too. The albacore tuna garden salad and BBQ grilled chicken salad are both really good. I dig the char burger lettuce wrapped for a perfect paleo meal. Habit, please open some franchises in Seattle! If you do, I’ll eat there every week. Promise.

When this spot first opened up I knew I wanted to try it out. The Habit has been coming out with locations all over the bay area and I’m glad I found one a few minutes drive from where I work. You walk in and it smells like any burger place, the air filled with meat, cheese and fries. What’s not to like? Anyway the prices are very reasonable for what you get, a high quality burger with some good toppings. I got a burger santa barbara style which is on toasted bread instead of a bun which can sometimes fall apart when the burger is too juicy. The meat was juicy and tender, the cheese melted perfectly with some mushrooms on top made for a tasty burger. Got a side of sweet potato fries which is a nice flavor combination in itself. Finally washed it all down with a vanilla shake which was sweet and creamy. I was a satisfied customer. The food came out pretty fast for the quality you receive. The staff was friendly and my burger came out to my exact specifications, medium rare with all the fixings. I had a pleasant experience my first time here.

I want to address all those rumors about The Habit, about it being a great burger: It’s indeed what you’ve heard. I made an excuse to go there. Story: My wife’s church had a women’s retreat in the hotel close by, and she and her girlfriend had lunch at The Habit. Her girlfriend said that it was so good, she wanted to go there tomorrow when the conference was over(Saturday afternoon). Naturally, I went over at that time to surprise her. Word of warning: I couldn’t find parking. Small parking lot surrounded by popular stores, and little street parking. Be prepared to walk a little way. You can eat outside or inside, take out or dine in. We had a view of the beautiful intersection of Contra Costa & Treat Blvds, underneath the unique ceiling fan. Me: charburger. Daughter: grilled cheese. Both came with fries. The burger was one of the better ones I’ve had, up there with the winners in Los Angeles(Apple Pan, Cassell’s). Now I’ll be weird: The fries were better. I’ve eaten few fries that are that good, The Habit is one of those few places with good fries. My girl ate all her fries before touching her grilled cheese. I didn’t need much ketchup for mine, crunchy with a good taste(must be the heapings of salt). She said, «This is very very very good.» Price is around a good fast food level, so it’s not as much a problem if eating here becomes a, um, habit. In-n-Out is a family favorite, but The Habit is giving In-n-Out some serious competition for us. It is that good. PS: The hunny and her friend were too tired, so they went shopping at Sprouts(while we were eating) and then went home. We missed each other by a parking lot. Bummer.

Let me begin with a disclaimer: I eschew red meat and try to avoid burger places in general. Having said that, I only go to a burger place if they offer chicken sandwiches or recently, to try and see if I can like veggie burgers. On an afternoon when the daughter(who thankfully does not share her mother’ s dislike for red meat) was particularly hungry after school, we found ourselves in front of this Habit location. This Habit is quite small that even while the place was not full, the line seemed too long(only 2 people ahead of us). The staff was very pleasant, though, so that is really a non-issue. The place is clean and open, however, so that is not too bad. Now to the food, the daughter’s cheeseburger looked juicy and she was quite happy with it. I can only repeat what she said, «this is so delicious!» I do have to say, however, that she was really quite hungry so I would take it with a grain of salt as we all know that everything tastes magical if one were hungry enough. As for me, I tried their veggie burger. I am sad to say that I was quite disappointed as the patty seemed to taste like cardboard soaked overnight and just dressed up with lettuce. I legitimately wished fervently that I ate red meat after a bite or two of my «veggie» burger. Maybe if I ate red meat, I would like them better. But as it is, the veggie burger was disappointing. I am willing to try their chicken sandwiches the next time I come back, though. Those things looked delicious.
