This is definitely the best place to get brunch around. I’ve had omelets and French toast from here and all are delicious.

As most awesome breakfast joints that rock, In a Pickle is always a wait, but nothing compared to some of the other great spots *cough*(Friendly Toast). Either way, this place is best if you were to pick a local joint in Waltham. Dare I say in the area? Due to an added breakfast fan in my life, I’ve now been here(and up early enough) to visit a few times and still hasn’t disappoint. They used to be in a smaller place, you can imagine the wait there. They have some of the best inventions for pancakes, French toast, and waffles. If you are a fan of any of those YOUMUST pay this place a visit. Snickers pancakes anyone? I’ll have to try the caramel crunch French toast one day, heard it’s a winner. Another quick tidbit, the owner cooks all the food as well, how’s that for dedication. The homefries are fantastic, and yes you can ask them to be even crispier. If you want the whole trial, pick The Ringer which includes your eggs, meats, pancakes, and homefries. You really can’t lose with what you go for. Ice coffee is good, ventilation is pretty good too… listen, everyone knows some of the breakfast places will leave you smelling like bacon grease sometimes, this one does not and I sat next to the kitchen today. Winner! Last but not least, the staffing. The hostess stand usually has about 2 – 4 peeps, and all the waitstaff can be seen hustling with smiles on their faces. I can honestly tell ya, they’re good. The humor is spot on, the service, and the smiles. Whether they are all Brandeis imports or locals, they’re doing a great job. The hostess stand sometimes looks lost, but I can’t blame them, they have to try and ignore all the breakfast hyenas stalking and staring at them willing those beepers to vibrate so they can pounce on them for a table. Go outside, take a breath of fresh air, and hang out on Moody St like its the local college quad. There are even benches to sit. Btw parking… no one should have an issue or lazy enough to park in a bus stop. You have no excuses not to get here, there are three parking lots: across the street, behind the restaurant and to the right of it. If there is one thing Moody St in Waltham is not in short supply of, it’s PARKINGSPACES. You won’t find yourself in a pickle for spots. Hurr hurr. *edited for typos* typed this up on the phone, auto correct has done worse to me lol.

Still a very cheap and efficient place to have you brunch. I always park in the bus stop in front of the restaurant(I didn’t know that abstract words were bus stop). Don’t blame me if you get towed. If you are here alone, and I always am, you should just go directly to the bar. Waiters in the front will not guide you to yours seat nor allow you to sit elsewhere. Try not to sit in the lower section, it feels really wired. I’d say it’s very efficient at the bar. Meal usually ready in 5min unless you order steak, which I did. The steak tip was very sweet, and the meat was not in good quality. Other choices like stacked, 123 egges, are all good. I love their sausages, potatoes and wheat bread. I don’t think they have English muffin though.

The Bloody Mary was like drinking vodka and salsa. Then they add a huge pickle to it which was catchy for the name but disgusting for the drink. The food was good so just try a different drink

The food was great, though I will agree with someone else’s comment regarding the amounts of whipped cream! They get credit for creativity on the pancake and french toast front(great choices for kids, which always makes for an easier time, for sure) and in the omelet department as well. Service was friendly and accommodating. We did come in before 8AM on a Saturday when the place was not yet jamming, and presumably this helped the process, but our waitress was genuinely nice to us and our kids. All in all, a solid experience, and there are many more things on their menu that I would love to try. The one thing that has to go is the fake syrup… I’ve become accustomed to not even asking, as most breakfast places(at least a couple diners I go to) only offer the real thing(it is New England, after all). Needless to say, I was not a happy camper after realizing I had poured that stuff on my pancakes! To this day, that is the only aspect of the experience that I can say ticked me off. Alas, there is always next time, but seriously, it was such a clash to mix that stuff with what was an otherwise well-executed dish.

My boyfriend and I legit come here every Saturday around noon. The wait times vary, 25−45mins on average, but it is so worth it. It’s a shame they close at 3pm. :’( I usually get The Ringer or the whatever the weekly special panini is. My boyfriend gets the eggs benedict(only on weekends & holidays). The food is consistently fantastic and so is the service no matter where you sit(counter, table, booth). The prices are great(except for overpriced peppermint hot cocoa $ 4.75 even w/o alcohol) and the portions are big. Unfortunately they recently stopped including coffee in the The Ringer so now I have to pay extra for it :(but it’s bottomless so I don’t feel too bad. I always highly recommend this restaurant to my coworkers, friends, and family. Keep up the fantastic work!

Tasty breakfast fare, somewhat of a ripoff, still one of your better options on Moody Street. Out of principle alone I don’t like restaurants with misleading menus(makes you think the coffee comes with the meal; find out when the bill comes that it does not) and misleading waitresses(if the side of sauce adds $ 2 to my $ 7 bill, I want to know about it before the check comes). Meh. They could try harder. But they won’t. C’est la vie.

Come here for an amazing brunch with a fun selection of both classic and creative dishes. Lunch menu too if brunch isn’t your thing! Came in on a dreary Sunday only to see the place was packed. We put our name in and they called us when our table was ready(45 minutes later), which was very convenient as we could walk around moody street while we waited! There is also plenty of street parking around. As for the food, I couldn’t have been happier. While the cookie dough pancakes were tempting, I posted for the special of blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast, and balanced of the sweetness with a Bloody Mary. Everything was served in generous proportions, and the restaurant had a friendly, lovely atmosphere with options of booths, tables, and bar seats. Definitely a must-visit if you are in the Boston area!

All the reviews say it… Go for the ringer! And go for it with coconut banana French toast. You won’t need another meal for days but it is absolutely delectable! We waited an hour and I hate waiting so that should indicate how worth the wait it is. While you hang out in a narrow hall you’ll see dish after dish of amazing food pass by! The French toast was unbelievable and the home fries may be one of my new favorites. The service was quick to make sure my coffee cup was never empty and everything was brought out very quickly. A great spot for morning breakfast if you’re willing to wait(and you should!).

There’s often a long line to get in on the weekends, but it’s totally worth it. In A Pickle has one of the best, biggest breakfast menus I’ve seen and everything I’ve had is delicious. There are many customizable options including omelettes, breakfast burritos, pancakes, waffles, and french toast. My personal favorite is the cinnamon crunch french toast, which remains the best french toast I’ve ever had, but I also love any of the waffle options and the chocolate chip pancakes. They also have weekly specials that are always good and creative. Definitely the best place for breakfast in Waltham.

My friend Andrea G. picked In a Pickle for our one last breakfast which happens to be in Waltham, MA. Definitely a popular spot as a lot of people were waiting inside and outside for their buzzer to go off. We were fine to sit anywhere just so we don’t have to wait too long to stuff our tummy. We were seated at the counter and greeted by our server Jessica with her bubbly personality and interacting with us. Breakfast: Andrea: The Ringer w/Sunny Side Up Eggs with Bacon and a French Toast filler of Nutella Stuffed French Toast(its not two pieces but the whole order of $ 8.99)…the french toast was delicious *drools* Diana: The Ringer w/Scrambled Eggs with Bacon and a Pancake filler of Reese’s Pancakes(they were gigantic pancakes… I didn’t try because I am allergic to the whole peanuts family «Mama like» hubba hubba my order of Eggs in a Basket with Bacon and I love pouring some maple syrup on my bacon makes it tastes oh so good in my belly lol… omfg I really enjoyed my order Jessica was too cute and I gave her a: fist pound: because she provided amazing service to us! In a pickle… I wish you can open a chain in NYC lol… a girl can dream right! Definitely YOU need to bookmark this onto your list!

In A Pickle is known by locals and college students alike for serving some of the best breakfast in town. Given its popularity, I’ve experienced wait time as short as 15 minutes(on a Wednesday at 12pm) and as long as one hour on the weekend. However, my friends and I have always been served within 15 minutes of ordering, so that’s always a plus. For banana and chocolate chip lovers, I recommend the banana and chocolate chip pancakes($ 7.75). One order comes with two large(and I mean, LARGE) pancakes and if you want, can be topped with whipped cream. It’s one of my go-to orders here. For omelet lovers, you can’t go wrong with any option on the menu. Made with 3 eggs, their omelets are served with a side of home fries and your choice of toast(I recommend the sourdough!). I’ve had the supreme omelet($ 9.75) – which includes black forest ham, hickory smoked bacon, mushrooms, green bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and broccoli – and the tuscany omelet($ 8.99) which was a weekly special and included basil leaves, tomatoes, salami, and mozzarella cheese. After dining at In a Pickle, my friends and I always leave with our jeans feeling a little tighter and definitely a lot happier. The prices are reasonable for the portion size and you should definitely eat here if you find yourself on Moody Street in the morning or before 3pm.

Ok, so this place is exactly that… OK. We went on a Saturday morning and there was about a 25 min wait. We were seated in the side/back section and my seat was right up against the fire extinguisher… to the point that we had to move our seats and table closer to the walk way to allow for seating. The chairs are super uncomfortable and that little section seems like an area that they knocked down a wall and set up some tall chairs and tables. The food was diner quality, certainly not the best or worst I’ve had, but nothing of note. Tasty, but again, nothing stood out.

When this place was in a different location, I wrote a review and I was not impressed(the review was still good just not wonderful). I have a friend who loves this place and she was mortified that I would dare to give them three stars and she has since been on a mission to get me to change my mind. She has succeeded! I do love the new location and the new space but parking still does not thrill me but this is the busy section of Waltham so you have to deal with it. I also do not even try to attempt to try to go during busy hours or during the weekends. I am not a good waiting person and get kind of cranky when I am hungry. That being said, I have really grown to like the cookie dough pancakes which really did not appeal to me the first time because I thought that was overkill. I went with my friend and she gave me some of hers and I was hooked. You have to be a fan of ooey-gooey stuff — if you are not you probably will not like these specialty pancakes … stick to the plain pancakes, omelets or sandwich stuff. I have tried the pancakes with the ringer which comes with two eggs, homefries, and choice of meat but I have never been able to finish it and it embarrasses me. I have liked them on Facebook and that is so wrong because they will post their latest creations and then I start craving the pancakes and have to plan a trip … it is a vicious cycle!

We came here on Father’s Day around 10ish. It was crowded. We were told 30+ min wait but got seating around 20mins. They have the usual breakfast items and a variety of omelette options. Our orders included the popular caramel crunch French toast. Which was nothing special to me but a sweet crunch on the outside. No syrup needed as it was sweet enough. I got The Ringer — scramble eggs, potatoes and ham with 2 pancakes on the side. The only thing I wasn’t excited about was the coffee. Coffee was on the lighter side for me. Good coffee is a must especially for breakfast! I wouldn’t mind coming back if I am nearby, but wouldn’t make the drive out again. Was not anything too special. Plus the menus were sticky.

2.5 Stars FOOD Caramel crunch French toast: first few bites were pretty good, but it got soggy quick and was way too sweet for my taste Nutella French toast: double the size of caramel crunch, and it was good, but I feel like I could have easily made this on my own at home… it was mediocre Cheap prices for what you’re getting The worst part of eating here was that there were fruit flies EVERYWHERE. There was not a single moment where fruit flies weren’t flying around my food. Ruined my appetite and it was annoying too. We didn’t notice until the end of our meal but the wall behind us had a ton of fruit flies on the wall. Disgusting… imagine how many fruit flies are in the kitchen… it’s an obvious problem which they can easily solve, so I don’t know why they haven’t done anything about it. Overall, won’t be coming back here. I would rather cook my own brunch at home where there aren’t swarms of bugs

Pros: Quirky food excellently done, great vibe, great service Cons: Long wait, difficult to find parking, bathrooms A friend of mine works here, so my adventure companion and I decided to take the hour long drive up to this restaurant. Tip number 1: the restaurant used to be located at another address that is extremely close to the current address, so make sure you put the right one into your GPS, if you’re using one. My friend and I arrived to the restaurant around 10AM on a Sunday morning. We had to take a little bit of a hike, as there is no where to park. Not knowing exactly what we were looking for, we found the large«In a Pickle» awnings helpful. That, and the large crowd of people standing outside. From the get go, we knew that we were going to have to wait a long time for a table, but this didn’t bother us since we were expecting to wait for at least a small eternity. And wait we did. In reality, it only took us about half an hour/forty-five minutes to get settled, but it feels like a lot longer if you are suffering from caffeine withdrawals. When we did get seated, we had an awesome waitress. She was super friendly, something surprising since it was so busy in the restaurant. She brought me four iced coffees in a five minute time span. She helped me with my indecisiveness in what to order. In short, the service was excellent. The food was also excellent, and came out was faster than I though it would given the people in the restaurant. I got the All American French Toast, and the fruit was fresh, the toast wasn’t too eggy, and it had real whipped cream. My only complaint would be that the home fries were a bit spicy for my taste, but they weren’t offensively over seasoned. While I cannot say anything about the restaurant’s lunch service, the breakfast is divine. I thought my experience was going to be perfect. And it was, up until my many iced coffees caught up with me. Before starting the long drive home, I figured I should use the bathroom. Holy crap, the stalls are small. It is a two stall bathroom, and the single person stall is so small I wasn’t sure I was going to fit in it. While the bathroom was generally claustrophobic, it was very clean so I feel like I’m not allowed to fault them too much on it. All in all, I had a very positive experience at In a Pickle. I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon since it’s so far away from me, but if you’re in the area and looking for a kick ass breakfast, this is defiantly a place to consider.

I expected a lot more from breakfast at this restaurant given the other Unilocal reviews. But, I don’t see it(or taste it). Let me start by saying that I am not one of those people who want whipped cream on anything for breakfast. I can skip the Nutella, chocolate chips and anything that would be good in a dessert. There were a lot of dishes like that that went by. So, perhaps that is what the other reviewers like. My way of judging a breakfast place is by the eggs. They should be light, fluffy and seasoned well. To that end, I ordered the Zorba omelette, which is spinach, tomato, olives and feta. It was flat, very salty and not spiced in any way. I also asked if I could substitute for the potatoes and bread to make it more healthy. The waitress said no, but I could buy a fruit cup for $ 4.50. My wife ordered pancakes that she also said were quite ordinary. If you wanted real maple syrup, they would sell you a small bottle. SELLYOU A BOTTLE. I do not mind up charges. But, this restaurant had taken it to an extreme that is not appropriate. Sorry, this just doesn’t make the grade for breakfast.

So delicious. We came here on on Saturday around 10AM after salivating over their online menu and anxiously looking forward to it. The wait was about 30−35mins for a table or a seat at the bar. This place is popular. Our order: Caramel crunchy French toast– Absolutely delicious. The French toast is soft with sweet caramel flavor and has a slight crunch. No syrup needed. Nutella stuffed French toast– self explanatory. Very generous portion. No syrup needed. We also ordered«the ringer» which is eggs, homefries and sausage or bacon. This is a a great option versus ordering several sides. I love having sweet and savory foods during brunch. We washed it all down with Oj and mango mimosas. Such an awesome brunch. We’ll be back very soon. I’m dying to try those waffles. Additional notes: Very friendly service Accepts cc Parking lot in back Come before 10AM on weekends to avoid a lengthy wait time.
