I used to be a HUGE fan of this place and swore by it. Their iced coffees were the best. But I’m not sure what quite happened in the span of a few years… There was a sudden drop in quality for me. About a year ago, I went in and the staff was having a little tiff, which concluded with them being rude and my barista making me a cup of the grossest, sludgiest cup of kona I’ve ever had. It took about fifteen minutes to get, too. My friend who was with me was like, «I thought you told me this place was good!». Now, to be fair, we all have off days and I just assumed it was because it was a bad day for them. I went back recently and once again, I waited forever for a cup of disappointing murk. So, I’m sorry to say I won’t be back and only hope that it gets better in time because Bad Ass was the best back in the day.

I’m not a coffee drinker by any stretch of the imagination, so I can’t comment on their coffees. I am, however, an avid tea drinker and I do like their selection of teas. The staff has always been very pleasant with me and have given me some good suggestions on which teas to try. They’re not a quick service coffee house, so keep that in mind when stopping by. The drive thru is usually fairly quick, though.

Ok Coffee, service was ‘meh’. We waited almost 5 minutes being the only car in the drive-thru at about 3 in the afternoon, but my wife and I needed an afternoon pick up so figured we’ve give it a try. We both couldnt help wonder if waiting in a line at SBUX would have been faster and the reward better… an A OK rating from me at best is warranted here

Love the coffee, horrible place to sit. In the winter, there is no heat. In the summer, there is no AC. I literally left because it was too cold to bare. It is a race to see what chill’s first, your coffee or your bones.

I gotta admit I was intrigued by the name BADASS a coffee lover from way back I knew that I’d have to try this place. I’ve recently moved here from CT where you have Dunkin, or Starbucks, and that’s about it. First off… this place is hard to get to. It’s right there on Route 9, but there’s no driveway. You have to turn down a side road, enter a Walgreen’s lot, drive around the back of the plaza, and there is the BADASS drive-thru. So I order, get my coffee. Prices are a little more than Dunkin, but way less than Starbucks.Then.you have to drive all the way back through Walgreen’s to was tasty. Will be back to try other flavors. Great alternative to the major chains

Very disappointing. When this place first opened, I was the biggest fanboy. I would go away to college and come back looking to Bad Ass as a highlight of coming back to the Hudson Valley. But then, as the years carried on, the quality started to go downhill. First it was the service, which I accepted as the coffee was still good. But today was an extreme letdown. Thin, weak coffee coupled with milk when I clearly stated I wanted half n half. All while paying the premium price of the Kona blend. Now I doubt I’ll ever be back. Say what you will about places like Starbucks, but at least my overpriced coffee comes with outstanding customer service.

This place is great, I like stopping in when I visit my sister at school. I love the blended grasshopper coffee drink. Delicious!

Have given this place 2 visits thinking my first experience was a fluke. This review is two stars because the hot chocolate was good. The service demands a single star. I was the only person in the store. No one said hello. Three girls behind the counter: one is Uggs who deliberately shuffled her feet every time she took a step — every… time. I couldn’t tell you what her job was. She never looked in my direction. One young lady who worked the register stared at me as I entered & scanned the big board. I kept looking from the drinks to her, back and forth to see if she would acknowledge me. Eventually I said hello and she smiled but remained silent. The third female looked irritated. During my few minutes before I ordered she watched me, hustled between the countertops behind the registers but never made any coffee. Once a car pulled up she manned the headset and handled the transaction solo. When she said finished with the drive-thru, I said«excuse me», but instead of responding her eyes remained lowered to the countertop as she called the name of the girl working the register, obviously to have her assist me. I won’t mention her name here but the fact that there has not been a single ounce of effort towards hospitality during my two visits here shows why this location was empty both times. Owners should utilize secret shoppers, retrain or replace their staff. I will not return.

I have been coming here for years but I am SO tired of paying for their mistakes. If you ask for a damn menu drink, they still make something completely different. There is no consistency here, and if you don’t explain the ingredients in your drink, it’s completely wrong. Unfortunately for me, I realize this when I get 10 miles down the road. I called today to tell the«manager» that id try to come back today, she offered no apology, mentioned she couldn’t bring it to me(I’m aware, idiot) and took a minute to pull my receipt and offer me a discount on my next coffee. YOUMESSEDITUP. Sorry John, I’m not coming back here. Ever.

Over the top décor. Lovely selection of beans, bought myself a bag of volcano on my way out and four vegan cookies for the vegan girlfriend. What I didn’t love was paying $ 7 for a cup of iced 100% kona coffee. Should’ve just said no. But was nostalgic about being in Honolulu. Enjoy my $ 30, Bad ass coffee.

Come for the name(who doesn’t want to go to place called«Bad ass?!» and stay for the great coffee. If you’re in the mood for more of the same then by all means check it one of the areas thousand DD’s, but if you’re in the mood for coffee with more flavor and overall better quality check this place out. They serve a wide variety of kona and kona blends(straight from the Hawaiian islands themselves). My personal favorite is the caramel vanilla latte, which tends to be my go to item when I come here but their regular kona is quite flavorful as well. They have breakfast and lunch items(sandwiches, etc), but I’ve yet to be able to try them. I’d rate this place higher but the last few times I’ve been there they’ve been obnoxiously slow with getting my order complete. All I typically have time for is a quick in and out, but they’ve kept me waiting quite a bit. They have a drive thru as well, perhaps I’ll check that out next time and see if that makes a difference Aloha!

This place is badass — your nostrils are slammed with coffee beans as soon as you walk in, and the staff, food, and of course coffee is killer — also has excellent interior design

The girl at the counter was rude and doesn’t know much about coffee — her knowledge base is understandable, not everyone’s an expert — but her attitude was inexcusable. Coffee was below average.

Let me start by saying I am a coffee-house lover. I love the culture that a café can create. I tend to go to one after work each day. Over the years, I’ve come to base how good a coffee shop is on three simple rules: how good their drip coffee is, how welcoming the environment is, and the attitude of the baristas. It’s a difficult balance to find, but it is beautiful when you can reach it. Badass fails on all three fronts. When I first started going to Badass, I thought it was bold for a coffee house to take on such a prominent location along Route 9. It is actively competing with Dunkin Donuts across the street and a new one just a mile south. But that is the first problem with this location. Bad Ass is a minor chain that can’t compete with low-cost, low-quality places like DD and Starbucks. It should be attempting to deliver on better service or better quality. The Coffee: Quite simply. It is not good. Most independent coffee shops open with the idea of taking back the idea of good coffee ever since Starbucks taught America to love burnt coffee. The thing is, Bad Ass Coffee tastes worse than Starbucks. I don’t know how they fail so horribly at making drip coffee. I’ve come to this location several times over the course of more than a year and it has never been good. The Atmosphere: There’s eccentric and then there’s too much. With yellow walls all around, palm trees littering the seating area, and Hawaiian Luau music blaring, this café is not a place you will want to hang out at long without headphones and blinders on. I’ve often tried to escape the yellow walls but sitting on the porch. But that is just as bad, with the roar of the highway and the smell of the employees cigarettes ruining the experience. The Service: When I first started coming to Badass, the service was incredible. I was a little confused why all the workers were high school/college aged girls. But, after being served by the owner a few time., it’s easy to see what is going on. Although I’ve never asked the baristas their wage, it is apparent that the owner sacrifices skill for low-wages. The result is baristas who are badly trained by a bad owner. The baristas are great, but are obviously overworked. The result is bad and slow service. If you want goof coffee and good service, go to The Ground Hog not even a mile into the Village of Wappingers. If you need coffee after they close at 3pm, I would recommend going to Bank Square in Beacon. My hope is that a truly independent coffee house can take over this location and bring good coffee to Route 9.

The décor definitely has the Hawaiian thing down pat and the fare, nothing exceptional that is until you try the coffee. Look, I love black iced coffee in fact I love my coffee hot or cold no other way except black, this so that I can enjoy the undiluted aroma as I swallow. On my second visit I tried their dark roast iced coffee and was not disappointed, the smokey aroma and aftertaste reminded me so much of my childhood in Jamaica. I know many people will think it quaint to drink just black coffee but I suggest that you give it a try… YOLO and if there is nothing else bad assed about this place, their dark roast iced coffee may be the bad ass of them all.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Good ambience, and it’s kind of a Starbucks clone(I’m sure they hurl at the thought, but there it is). The coffee is actually quite good. I got their blend of Kona(whatever it is in the blue bag). Here’s where we go south: $ 17 for 8oz of coffee? Are ya KIDDING? That’s just a little more than insane, and that wasn’t even for the expensive pure Kona. I know they make their bones on Kona and blends which are expensive, but that’s just ridiculous. If sourcing this coffee is so expensive, diversify, because I can get coffee in the city at Porto Rico Trading, where they roast their own beans and it’s super fresh for about half of that FOR A FULLPOUND. And we’re talking good coffee, not some some gourmet store beans that get delivered weekly and were roasted last month. So… not sure what to suggest here, but to come back to earth with pricing. The rest is good.

Sorry to do it, especially when I want to see businesses grow but after reading the reviews here, I had to give my two cents. My coffee palette has been pretty great, especially as of late but I know watered down, bland coffee when I taste it. The Kona was only satisfying, and in a standard sense when it came to the caffeine but the smell seemed dull, coffee tasted old, and again watered down. Normally I can smell the freshness and get the taste instantly but nothing in regards to it. So to say, I won’t be going back here for the coffee. I snacks really seemed basic and sugary as well, so the only uniqueness about the store was the Hawaiian décor in which anybody can do. The service was slow as well but lucky enough I’m a patient person but they might want to pay more attention to the front. Also I’m not a fan of the full sign up for wifi but then again it’s free and the service was good so that was that was the shining light unfortunately. No enough for 2 stars and even though I like the name, the business/coffee has to reflect, Bad Ass!
