I expect high prices at a hotel but this place was pretty extreme. Bottled beer was 6.50. And service was pretty bad. Who am I kidding? It was so not great on a lot of levels. It was pretty effing bad. Veggie dumplings are pretty great but not for about $ 2 a dumpling. Mushroom steamed buns were a horrible value. $ 12 for two sandwiches that had two small half slices of mushroom, one slice of cucumber and one slice of carrot. Yikes. Save some money and explore outside of the Marriott. I came out of convenience and regret going elsewhere.

Well it is a lobby bar and the bartenders know they can’t be fired. Unless your staying here at the hotel don’t bother.

The chicken wings were great… the martini adequate, the staff., asleep at the wheel. I’m siting here waiting for someone to noticetI still don’t have water or my check. I’ve asked and still waiting. Nope… Not yet. I’d leave without paying if the prick bartender didn’t take my credit card. Maybe he knows he sucks so bad, he keeps credit cards instead of taking care of customers. Wonder if I’m paying for his kids Christmas’s presents… still waiting

Food was fine. Service was a bit slow. The worst part came after when I lost something and tried to call them several times. The switchboard transferred me over and the person at the restaurant for whatever reason could not hear a thing and hung up on me several times. Awful service.

For a hotel bad the ambience is pretty stellar, but the food, mixed drinks and service was average. Everything came out correctly and on time, but no one in my party had anything we’d be looking to eat again anytime soon. No one was disappointed, but nothing was wow worthy at all.

It seems to be a lively place as a bar. As a restaurant, it left much to be desired. My party went there because the hotel restaurant was closed in the late afternoon. The menu is extremely limited. Our waitress gave us too many ice teas, and billed us for the extra. Our food order was incomplete and not as requested. And this was not at a busy time for the bar. Finally, a 20% service charge was included for tables of six or more, but we were only five.

Me & Cate went here before seeing Lewis Black on Friday. It just around the corner from the Warner Theater & adjacent to the National Theater. Good for a meet up spot, enjoy a nice classy bar, decent selection of appetizers. It’s a relaxed lounging type environment with a uniqe set up like being in your living room with an HDTV. Several stations set up like booths but with sofas & easy chairs.

Oh my god, the top rating to Maria that is the most professional server/bartender ever! My friend and I visited DC from LA for a few days and we decide to stop for a drink and some appetizers, this girl made our evening so special, she is on top of everything and always so kind, i hope the manager see this review!!! Next time we come over we will definably stop by! PS: flat bread is fabulous…

Great vibe and service(by Jose) was far above hotel-bar expectations, even at a JWM. The Penn Ave sidecar is a nice, smooth signature drink worth the price.

My mom and I stopped in here to share an appetizer because we were hungry and in the area. We ordered the slider trio. Pros –the slider trio was really good! I think our favorite one was the crabcake one. I could’ve done without the fois gras one, because while it tasted okay I’d rather do without torturing ducks for my food. the assistant chef came by at one point to ask us if we had any comments for how to improve the food. we couldn’t think of anything offhand, but after thinking about it I would change the bread on the bun of the oyster slider. the bread they currently use is a very thick and fluffy bun with no crust on the outside. The oysters would be better complemented by a really crusty French bread roll. –the managers and others who stopped by our table to check on us were very friendly Cons –the bathroom needed to be cleaned –the managers and others stopped by our table a little TOO frequently. I think at least 4 different people stopped by to introduce themselves and it was a bit much. –the food took a bit long to get out to us, I would say we waited 25 – 30 min and we were eating at an off-peak time(8:30 pm on a Sunday night) all in all, if you are in the area and want a nice place to unwind and grab a bite to eat, it’s a decent option. however, it’s not a place I would go out of my way to visit.

I’ll be honest, my friends and I only came here to use the bathroom on our journey through DC. On a 90+ degree day, we came to seek air conditioning and a quick seat. We were allured by the golden glow back drop of top shelf drinks. We ended up getting a strawberry daquiri, mojito, and a few others. One thing I like about the place is that it’s like a hidden gem in the city. This place isn’t crazy packed, and we found seating whereas every bar had people packed like sardines. One thing I love about this place is that, if it isn’t on the menu, they’ll make it for you! They have a large array of top shelf drinks and service is speedy and friendly!

I was staying nearby for work and ended up eating and drinking here a few times. The house made chips are quite delicious, and the spicy bloody mary hit the spot one evening. I also had a great local IPA one night that was superb. However, the times at which they serve meals annoys me. It’s a hotel in an international destination and I can’t get a salad at 4:30 p.m.

9÷8÷1210:32PM 1 Burger Sliders $ 12 1 Corned Beef Rolls $ 11 1 Shrimp Tater Tots $ 12 Corned Beef Rolls were pretty good. Burger Sliders were okay. Shrimp Tater Tots were forgettable. Ultimate grease fest. If you have a room at the Marriott to go wild’n out, it is a way to prepare yourself before hitting the clubs… I heard greasy food slows down alcohol absorption so you don’t get rocked!

Great little place! It can be a wee louder at the bar end so if you want it more quiet just walk to the other end. A nice assortment of appetizers or small meals & a nice selection of beer, wines & mixed drinks.

Small lunch menu, mediocre food. If I had to do it over again, we would have ventured out of the hotel for lunch. Spent every night hanging out at the bar with other conference attendees – good service and a nice place to hang out for drinks. Just skip the food.

So we were here for a mocking of the debates last night, and thought, hey, why not grab some drinks and dessert? Although service was impeccable, the strawberry shortcake was a miserable cup full of whipped cream and artificial strawberry sauce with maybe half a lady finger and one real strawberry as a garnish. Being as we were only here for dessert, and the dessert was lame, I’m giving it two stars. Also, I’m not sure what kind of social commentary it is when each booth has its own television. I, for one, like my conversations highlighted by witty banter, not the CNN bottom line.

I go here for«DC’s signature drink» the gin rickey. It’s a nice drink and if you are a fan of gin & tonic, as I am, I recommend you give it a go! The bartender I trust is an older bald gentleman. He makes them best and his service is pretty good. There are other bartenders there but they don’t make them as good and their service is kind of spotty. I’ve been here three times, twice with one of my friends and the last time my friend’s drink was really poorly made. It was the cocktail on the menu that has raspberry or cherry in it… can’t remember the name. Anyway, it was way too strong and the mix of syrup and alcohol was bad. The second time I was here with the same friend we had a lot of fun. I ordered steak which was delicious! Definitely a meal that can be shared between two people. Drinking here is expensive though, and as other reviewers also said… for the price you pay it isn’t where it should be.

It’s dark, modern, and swank, just how I like my bars. It’s also difficult to find from the street, which is mildly annoying, but what can ya do. A and I came for happy hour a few nights ago, and we were well pleased. The cocktail menu was creative enough and they made a killer margarita. I sucked down a shangri la, a champagne-y cocktail with Grey Goose and a hint of fruityness, which was quite good, but New York City expensive! I was amazed. Don’t get me wrong; it was delicious, just not *that* delicious. And for that much $, I’d like more of a buzz. But again, it was delicious. Foodwise, I got the club sandwich and A got the heaping fried calamari plate. The club sandwich wasn’t extraordinary, but the calamari was great, apparently. Service was a-ok; not worth writing a novel about. But the ambiance is great. Lots of real grownups talking about grownup stuff with real grownup coworkers, then getting drunk and making terrible decisions involving said coworkers. …I’m guessing. Anyhoo, I can’t say that I’d go out of my way to do hh here, but I’m glad to know the peeps in Federal Triangle have somewhere to get their classy post-work drank on.

Reserved ½ of the lounge for a company anniversary part-ay on a Tuesday night. The company loved it! Katie, the catering manager, was ONIT with her suggestions of apps to feed the need of the 50 or so people, and even helped us stay within budget by offering happy hour prices to our apps. The sangria was very tasty(tasty enough that I had at least 6 before the night was through), and the waitstaff were all very quick and helpful rounding up drink orders(and we’re a VERY thirsty bunch). The lounge is set up like a nice livingroom-esque space, with leather wrapped comfy chairs, a few tv screens, and a nice fireplace. We had to set up ropes to separate our party from the other loungers, but we had a good time overall.

Had lunch here today — the 1331 Bar & Lounge is located inside the JW Marriott Hotel. Ordered their Turkey Melt with a side of fries and a glass of water with lemon wedge. It was late in the afternoon — 2:30 pm — so there were not a lot of folks eating when I arrived — but several other parties arrived right after I was seated and placed my order. The place has a modern, swanky, comfortable feel to it. Sandwich was an open face melt, thinly sliced turkey piled high on what I think was a slice of toasted sourdough bread, derby sage cheese melted on top and a horseradish cranberry sauce with slivers of avocado. The melt had a nice mild, mellow aspect to it and there was plenty of turkey. Fries were decent, but needed to be cooked a tad longer. Meal was served with a crisp, crunchy dill pickle and soufflé cup of ketchup. Overall not a bad lunch, service was good.
