This chipotle is probably one of the worst I’ve been to. This place is somehow always dirty as if no one even tries to clean it. Employees are pretty rude from time to time because they hate their jobs but somehow make it the customers’ problem. They aren’t consistent with the portions on the amount of one item they give you, like they only throw on the food in the burrito or bowl without care. Plus the wait in line can take so long as the place always has a line. I’d recommend to go to another chipotle to get your chipotle fix.

I would give them 0 stars if I could but I can’t. Simply put chips were stale(pretty sure it was from yesterday) and they tried to argue with me and say all are like that… Really??? That’s a problem. Finally give me another bag and every other chip was stale again… So over it… I swear you have to ask for extra everything because they shake the spoon before they give you anything. I really don’t like chipotle anymore. I remember when it was good. Now it’s just stale and over priced.

I thoroughly enjoy Chipotle, but I do not enjoy inconsistent service. This place accomplished exactly that. Their portions are all over the place, and this happened yet again today. The person right next to me ordered a chicken burrito(same as me) and got quite a bit more chicken and other toppings served in theirs. I’m not jealous that the other person received more, I’m just frustrated that the service is not consistent for everybody.

Yesterday evening I went to Chipotle for what was supposed to be a delicious dinner. However, while I was ordering the veggie toppings part of my burrito bowl, I saw a COCKROACH crawl onto the counter by all the toppings! I tried my best to remain calm and pointed to it and said to the lady«look!». She didn’t understand at first and I repeated, «Look where I’m pointing!». The lady jumped and recoiled but then quickly took a paper towel and squashed it as it was moving. She threw it away, told someone at the register, and continued my order as if nothing had happened. The lady at the register asked me if I was cold because I was holding my chest because I was FREAKEDOUT, and I subtly said«I’m just freaked out because of what happened over there» but all she did was nod and charge me for my food. So I left, reeling, and by the time I got home I trashed my food because ew!!! There are so many things wrong with this situation to my eyes: 1) There was a COCKROACH on the food counter! Not a shy bug under the counter where things only get cleaned weekly or whatever(which is still super disgusting but a bit more understandable), but actually visibly evident to the staff and guests! This is disgusting and unsanitary! 2) If a cockroach got that far, surely this means the entire restaurant is teeming with them and they are properly cleaning the operation! Which isn’t surprising as the lady did not even go back and sanitize the area where she squashed the roach. 3) No one apologized for this disgusting incident nor thanked me for not only indicating the pest, but for staying calm when all I wanted to do was scream and run away. I am so disgusted. I am trying to be very reasonable as we do live in a city, but in retrospect, the nonchalant way that this incident was dealt with made me realize that this must happen often and that is NOT okay. I am extremely disappointed in Chipotle for not having stricter internal processes to protect against this type of mismanagement of operations and cleanliness. I know it isn’t any one person’s fault *really*, but at the end of the night, even though everyone is tired and wants to go home, it is NEVER acceptable to do a half-ass job at cleaning. I will be a long time before going back to what used to be a special treat for me. I sincerely hope for the sake of other guests that Chipotles in DC get their act together to ensure this doesn’t happen again – because the way they all look like, there’s not one cleaner than the other.

Everyone knows what Chipotle is like, so my 2 stars are for the service during my visit. I tried to order online, but the first available time wasn’t for ½ hour from the time I wanted to place the order. Thinking that it would take longer than going to the actual store, I stopped my online order and headed there to order in. There were only about 10 people in front of me, but it took about 25 minutes to start my order. The woman in charge of the tortillas was painfully slow at filling orders, forgot what people had ordered, etc. The staff was stingy with all of the toppings, so I had to continually ask for«a little extra» to get the same amount that I would normally get at other Chipotle locations. The toppings staff member went to put on my to go top and knocked over the entire top of the burrito bowl toppings. She added a little extra sour cream to compensate, but decided that I must not have cared about the rest of the toppings! She quickly scraped off a bit of the sour cream that got all over the outside of the bowl, which later got all over my hands and under the lid of the container when I opened it. From start to finish the process was P-A-I-N-F-U-L! I know this is a new location and popular with students, but this is not the standard of service that Chipotle is known for. Management needs to step up and work on customer service. It should not take ~35 minutes to serve a customer a fast casual burrito.

The line was to the door, and we expected our usual California very air-conditioned Chipotle and were surprised to get the opposite! It was super stuffy in there. Once we got to the counter, to our dismay they did not sell Carnitas at this location(apparently for the past two months). We ordered a bowl and chips and guacamole. Again, spoiled by California, we expected fresh chips with the big chunks of salt and tangy lime flavor… only to get a rather bland different type of tortilla chip! Of course Chipotle is always a favorite, but this one is not the best.

Most people know what chipotle tastes like so this review is about what really matters: the guacamole! Every time I go they are super stingy with the guacamole. I always get half the guacamole I would get at all other chipotles! There is always a line here so I always see them rush and half scoop/half ass the chipotle in my bowl. I might as well get limes from them and buy my own guacamole ingredients if they going to continue doing this chizz. If you want a somewhat fair amount of guac, get it as a side(so there’s no way they could rip you off) or make your own! Because my girl Trisha doing the guac does not hook it up!

I wouldn’t usually review a Chipotle since it’s a chain, but I had to share my negative experience at this particular location. I had ordered online at around 9pm on a Monday night. I figured it would be a down time and I would just be able to pick up my food and go. NOPE! I had ordered about 20 minutes before I arrived at the restaurant. My order wasn’t ready when I got there and I had to wait another 20 minutes! ! Wtf! What is the point of ordering online if I have to wait 5 times as long as people standing in line. It wasn’t even that busy. On top of that they ran out of steak, sour cream, AND tomatoes while I was waiting for my food(all of which I had ordered in my burrito). It was totally unfair and I was mad. Eventually, the manager approached me about my order and finally got something done. Unfortunately they still got my order wrong by charging me for a steak burrito even though they ran out of steak. This was the WORST experience I have ever had at any Chipotle ever! ! The only reason why I’m giving this Chipotle 2 stars is because the manage made an attempt at making amends in that she gave me a side of chicken for overcharging me. She also offered to comp me a meal the next time I came in. That’s cool, but she didn’t even give me her name and I forgot to ask! This place is not clean and poorly managed. Avoid this place if you can!

As a paying customer I do not appreciate having to jump through hoops to use the restroom. Although I disagree with the policy of having codes for restroom access as not befitting an establishment of which purports to be better than a gas station, there are probably customers who do appreciate such a measure. First, I do not appreciate having to get my food first before heading to the restroom. Second, not only was the code on my receipt was wrong, but I was furthermore not told of this error at the register. Third, when I went back to get the right code I requested that the receipts be updated, the manager himself said that was not feasible due to some technical issue about the codes changing every day. To me, that defeats the point of having the code printed on receipts in the first place. Chipotle might have a corporate bathroom code policy, but that is no excuse for lying to customers with a false code and the failing to rectify the situation, all the while making paying customers feel like school children asking permission.

Look. I LOVE Chipotle. I even own their stock. It pains me to even right this… but this place is not up to par. It’s ghetto, dirty, parking is AWFUL, the customers are generally rude, and the line is always obnoxiously long(and I know Chipotle lines VERY well… this is def one of the worst… doesn’t move fast and I’ve never really seen it short(even at downtimes)). The staff seems to be pretty nice but not always very fast. I don’t like going to this Chipotle.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something isn’t quite right with this location. I don’t know. Maybe it’s the fact that there is absolutely no one working the floor to clean off the tables, sweep the floor or refill the ice machine. Maybe because they are the slowest chipotle I’ve ever visited. Maybe, perhaps four employees, as well as the security guard were all taking their meal breaks at the same time taking up the much needed seating from this tiny place. It could be because I suspect the cold ingredients aren’t maintained at a cold/safe enough temperature(the Pico appeared to be a little soupy and foamy). I won’t be visiting this particular location, again. I would have much rather had Lime that was across the street, but nooooooo, they’ve closed.

This rating is not about the food we all know is addictive, but about the security guard Xavier/Porcho. My friend and I have watched him go above and beyond multiple times in less than an hour. Most notable was when a customer came in with her bike he had to ask her to leave the bike outside but she didn’t have a bike lock. He gave her a menu, took her order and credit card to pay for the meal. When her food was ready he brought it out to her. He has his eyes on everything and ready to help customers. It’s obvious that this is apart of his spirit.

Just got the usual for my boyfriend and me — steak burrito and steak bowl. Both tasted fantastic as usual. However, I seriously question the cleanliness of this location. While enjoying our lunch, my boyfriend encountered some unexpected vegetation — a leaf. No, not a lettuce leaf. A leaf. From the outdoors. How could that even happen? Picture is posted. Notice the bite mark. Yum.

Soooooo a coworker and I ordered two burrito bowls from my phone last night. I ordered mine w/half steak and barbacoa, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, black beans, white rice, and lettuce. Mind you we only get 30mins for our meal breaks… and your lines are ALWAYS wrapped around the store and almost out the door. So we must order from our phones. When I got my food… I was pissed off to find out I was given a bowl w/ONLY rice, meat, beans and peppers. If u notice I didn’t ask for peppers… and it was missing EVERYTHING else I did ask for. My coworker said when she got there… our bowls were NOT even done yet. THEPURPOSEOFORDERINGONLINEISTOSAVETIMEANDENERGY??? What customer service is this to send out food that’s not even close to what a guest asks for or deserves? I had to rush back over to your store to find out YOURANOUTTASOURCREAM! Thats a key ingredient how does a Chipotle run out of freakin sour cream??? I was luckily able to get my money back but was late back from lunch.

While I do love Chipotle, going to the Columbia Heights location is like entering one of the circles of hell. The line is almost always to the rear door, and it isn’t like it moves very briskly either. While the food quality is usually pretty good, because Chipotle does a decent job of quality control, ordering can be a big hassle. Not only are the lines long, but the workers are often rushed and don’t listen to you before putting toppings on. Numerous times have I said something right as they are about to scoop whatever they feel like on top. That being said, it is a Chipotle, so you know what you’re going to get, as long as you’re willing to wait 20 minutes in line for it.

Sooooo, I ended up here because the Lime Fresh across the street went out of business. CHIPOTLEWINS! FATALITY! You’re not really reading this because you wanna know anything about Chipotle. They are ALLTHESAME. I’ve yet to go into a Chipotle that doesn’t look like an unfinished warehouse, or one that has adequate seating, or one that has art on the walls that doesn’t look like a serial killer’s lair, or one that doesn’t have a soup kitchen line, or one that doesn’t sound like the trading floor of the old NY Stock Exchange or… It’s Chipotle. They thrive on their ability to make every experience the same. There’s seven people behind the counter and the first person always asks what you want only to turn around and ask you again which meat you want after he/she steams your tortilla. Then for whatever reason, she has a magic force field that only allows her to go as far as the rice before handing you over to a salsa specialist. The person you really have to watch out for is the sour cream and cheese efficiency analyst. This person makes or breaks the company’s quarterly profits by giving you just a pinch less cheese/cream than you want. Stay on top of them and get your extra pinch! This person may also be your burrito folder, so be nice! A badly folded burrito can lead to premature tears and ‘drippage.’ If you’re smart, someone in your party had a Gladiator-styled fight in order to secure the booth that you noticed was about to be available when you walked in. If you didn’t plan ahead, then you will next time, because it’s Chipotle and you’ll be back. (Oh yeah, just to make this a real review… the food was good, service was nice, place was kinda crowded [for real?] and I’ll be back)

It’s chipotle so the food is good, but this location is the worst I’ve ever patronized. They’re SLOW, they don’t listen, they serve brown guacamole, the scoops of meat are smaller than average. They are also terrible at catering here. We pre-ordered for a work function, even with a faxed order form they managed to get almost every single order wrong for a party of 9. The only plus sides are the location and the manager(who was pretty accommodating after our catering kerfuffle). I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.
