They open up the Commandant’s House to the public once a year for the Barracks Row festival. It’s fantastic and free! They basically let you wander through on your own. It’s 3 floors, and the oldest occupied house in DC (the British never burned this one down for unknown reasons). Definitely do this if you’re lucky enough to be around in mid-​Sept.
