Disappointingly bad. My coworkers are always going there and I don’t know why. They have to pass several good restaurants like a Jimmy Johns and a Brueggers Bagels to get to the Einstein bagel shop. The often seem out of stock of the best bagels and what they do have is hard and stale. The counters are often messy. The staff tries to rush your order. Maybe I’m just slow because I have trouble trying to figure out which inferior bagel I want to try. I watched them make the egg from that liquid egg in a carton stuff. There are much better options in the area to have to settle for this place.

Rude service. Would not have been a but deal but I waited 20+ for a bagel and by the time it was ready it was so burt I couldn’t even eat it. This place needs to get there act together.

I placed a catering order for a family breakfast I was hosting in my hotel suite following my son’s wedding last weekend. I have to say, despite other’s poor reviews, our experience was very good and I would do it again. I would give 5 stars except delivery was about 15 minutes late and we had people who needed to get to the airport sooner than later. Our order was complete, fresh, and delicious. Bagels, pastries, and muffins were fresh, eggs sandwiches hot and filling. A huge bowl of fresh fruit, plenty of hot coffee, and a generous bottle of orange juice. All tableware, napkins, condiments were included. It was a great way to feed 20 people good food quickly in a private space for a fair price. Much better than what our hotel was providing and more convenient when everybody had flights to catch before Noon.

The food was good, not a bad place for the price The only reason I give 2 starts is because the service, the young lady with the red hair was very rude and not helpful when she was trying to take the order. Everything else is fine.

Mediocre for a bagel shop; the eggs could have been better but the service was great.

Bad customer service. A basic order shouldn’t be this tough. Listen — type — repeat back. Parking is even worse. Since they relocated this place it has really gone downhill. Epilogue once I got to my office and I found out that the bagels I had ordered were not toasted so I got cold soggy bagels instead.

How many times Einstein’s has saved me from a hangover, I don’t know. Their bagels are not mind-blowing, but they serve their purpose, and they taste better than Brueggers up the street. The lovely manager, Guy, informed me that you can call ahead with your order, so you have better chances of getting the kind of bagel you like if you plan on coming after the morning rush. Thanks, Guy!

Freaking nightmare. I ordered catering from Einstein Bros for a breakfast I was having at my office. Originally, I’d asked for delivery at 7:45AM for a 9AM event. I got an email from corporate asking if 8:15 would be ok because they had another delivery, they’d be cutting it close, and they didn’t want to be late. OK, I said. At 8:15, I got a call from the driver saying he would be there within 15 minutes. Fine, irritating, but not the end of the world. 8:30, 8:35 tick by and the driver isn’t even answering his phone at this point, so I called up their corporate catering number while I ran down to Starbucks and sent another person in my office to another place to get juice so that this breakfast isn’t a complete debacle. Finally, at 9:10, the guy shows up, and doesn’t even bring everything we ordered. The manager called me saying he was on his way with my coffee, and I told him not to bother. Now that I think back on it, I don’t think they remembered to bring cream cheese; I think people used the Starbucks cream cheese. It was ridiculous. I would never use them ever again and you shouldn’t, either.

Nice people, relatively quick service. But never order their smoked salmon bagel. The picture on their menu is a lox bagel with a sliced tomato, capers, and cream cheese; in reality I received shredded, fully cooked salmon with a diced cucumber, tomato, caper salsa under it. I was better off ordering a plain everything bagel as that’s the only part I could manage to eat. In the future I’ll be going back to the breakfast place across the street.

Stopped here in a pinch for a breakfast sandwich. i ordered the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. It was ok while the honey wheat bagel was very good. Overall the sandwich didn’t match McDonalds who set the standard. I really like their bagels though and will probably go that simple route next time.

Let’s face it… bagel options in DC are not good. Though we are but 224 miles south of NYC, it is hard to find a good bagel down here. That said, I’m basing this review off of DC bagels, not off of a true boiled NYC bagel.(If that’s what you’re after, you’ll have to make a trip to the Big Apple.) I’m loving the new Einstein’s location. It’s extremely convenient(no other locations in this entire region were convenient to me until this one opened), it’s large and spacious, there’s plenty of furniture of all sorts for sitting, reading, working, etc., there’s wifi, etc. The staff here seems friendly, but I wish they’d be more diligent about keeping the turnover on the coffee more frequent. It’s supposed to be standard at Einstein’s to have timers on the coffee so that none sits around for more than an hour, but the timers on most of the coffee options had run out. I do love the«Darn Good Coffee», and the ones with the timers still fresh were tasty. PS — the pumpkin«shmear»(cream cheese) is to die for. Best cream cheese ever. The blueberry is pretty darn good, too.

I will not be returning to Einstein Bros Bagels. I went in to try their Wisconsin Ave. store in Glover Park this past weekend. The store had a number of customers but was not busy. There seemed to be at least one employee for each customer so I thought my order would be fulfilled quickly. I was wrong. After wait 15 minutes for a bacon egg and cheese bagel I went up to the counter to ask. As I approached I observed another customer return a bacon egg and cheese bagel they had not ordered. Then upon presenting my receipt I watched as they took the returned bagel back, re-wrapped it and gave it to me. Appalled I walked to the nearest trash can to discard the second hand bagel and left the store never to return.

I had planned in doing some work on my laptop at Starbucks, but all the seats were taken. Looking across the street, I see the big yellow sign of Einstein Bros Bagels. I didn’t remember that being there before so I thought I’d see if they had some comfortable empty seats, a wall outlet, and maybe some free WIFI. BINGO! Yes they do! As soon as walking in, there was a girl with a «wheel of fortune». I spun it and won a rubber bracelet. Kinda had my heart set on a travel coffee mug or t shirt, but I won the bracelet. Oh well. I ordered a mocha with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. The coffee was not strong and the chocolate wasn’t too sweet, the cream helped to cool the temperature as it hit my lips. Not bad. After a couple of hours I ordered a green chile bagel with lox and cream cheese. It took them a few minutes to prep it. They put a tiny bit of capers and sliced purple onions. I actually like my purple onions chopped, it just makes them a little more pleasant to chew and put down. But it tasted great on the green chile bagel. So if your gonna have«bagels» in your name, you’d better not disappoint with the actual products. Einstein is a chain, and I must say they do make great bagels. The coffee is pretty good and they do offer things like ready made assorted green salads and fresh cut fruits and various juices. It makes another choice of places to sit and camp out in Glover park.
