Pre-made sandwiches rivaling those at your local Giant, outrageous prices and rude staff. Your choices are endless on The Hill, go anywhere but here.

I’m a lenient reviewer if service is good. Came in to shop the market. Waited for the paper store and got a bagel(it’s no NYC bagel, but then again what is!?!) and a Stiegel(breakfast beer, thank you!) owners husband is Italian and clearly the mascot of the business, great guy! Ended up back here that night for dessert, tiramassu was very good for being made, I’m sure much earlier that day. It was not overly sweet, total win! And more breakfast beer… Because hey, why not!?!

My boyfriend and I stopped at Radici for lunch on Sunday. We were looking for fast casual dining in Eastern Market and wanted a place we could sit down at. Radici totally hit the spot for both of us! We each ordered a pre-made sandwich which a staff member kindly warmed up for us. I ordered the grilled vegetable sandwich with focaccia bread which I thought was positively outstanding and my boyfriend ordered a pastrami sandwich. Overall, a pleasant place to grab a quick bite and I look forward to stopping by there again to order one of their cookies and a cappuccino!

Radio is a cute place on Capital Hill with a nice outside seating area. You can get sandwiches to go or to eat at the restaurant. Homemade pastas are made daily and are ready to take home for dinner. Tomato mozzarella from the cooler was great. Make sure to have them warm it up for the best possible experience. Cookies and cannoli were a good topper offer. What a great place to just hang out and sip a drink while reading a book on a Monday afternoon.

I adore this place! Great coffee, great pastries and that straita bread that I want to eat every day of my life. This place certainly feels Italian to me and I feel like the coffee bar should be lined with people getting a quick espresso and conversing in Italian. The store has sandwiches and pre-made options, along with a handful of grocery items and the essential wine to pair with your meal. Great outdoor space to take in the market area. Stop in, grab a coffee and a loaf of bread and you won’t be disappointed.

A great addition to the neighborhood, perfect for a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The breakfast pastries are great, with the notable exception of the savory bread pudding, which I can’t recommend. The pasta is nothing to write home about, but everything else I’ve had has been excellent, and the atmosphere can’t be beat if you’re looking for something laid back amidst all the craziness of Eastern Market.

Stopped in for a quick Cappuccino /Espresso on way home from shopping at Eastern Market. Turns out FLOTUS had been here earlier in the day — so there was a lot of bruhaha, which may have accounted for the lack of seating, crowds. Coffee was great — desserts, pastries, etc. looked delicious… will come back to try another day!

Great food, great staff . Good communal space, though parking in Eastern Market is always the worst.

I love this place! Good coffee and great assortment of sandwiches and other treats. Have also bought some good wines here. Only reason I had to take one star off is because it opens too late on weekdays. I wish I could come in by 7 – 7:30 to get a cup of coffee before work.

I actually really like this place. Every time I come here I get one of their house made sandwiches and it’s absolutely delicious. It’s got that small shop, homey feel to it that I really love. The staff has always been friendly, personable, and helpful. If you’re in a hurry and there’s a line — you might end up waiting for a few minutes; it’s not the fastest place to grab a bite… but maybe you should slow down anyway. Radici holds a special place in my heart.

Wonderful little lunch spot! This place has your standard prepackaged soups, salads, and sandwiches. They also have prepackaged pasta dishes, pastries, and tons of other small options. We had their soup of the day, roasted cauliflower, and sandwiches. The food was delicious! Had it warmed, and sat cozily inside to enjoy! Don’t expect rushed, fast service. This was a true French establishment, with a much more relaxed pace!

This place has changed hands several times in the last few years. It’s latest incarnation is Radici. I don’t see it lasting long. The food is fancy but over priced. The service usually sllloooowwww. Crowded inside. Nice outside tables, potentially worth waiting 20 minutes for them to make a cappuccino for.

I was in the middle of a very long day of sightseeing, heading to the indoor market when this little place stopped me in my tracks. I enjoyed a macchiato and plain yogurt as well as picking up some snacks for later. It was a pleasant respite. I loved the Gorgonzola and walnut spread. It was perfect for my snowed in days at the hotel.

Good lattes, but not the most friendly staff. I do like the communal table in the center but this isn’t a place where you can sit and just read or work. It is busy and loud, meant for socializing. I am disappointed in the store’s strict policy on outside food and drinks. Even though I ordered and bought something from the store, it doesn’t matter. When a staff saw me drinking lemonade that was bought from an outside vendor, I was approached by a woman and told to throw it away or leave. I left. This place isn’t the cheapest cafes around. When a latte is leaning towards the $ 5 a cup end, I think customers should be able to drink a lemonade or whatever they brought into the store with them. I’m sorry, but I rather not spend $ 4 dollars on a small bottle of processed lemonade from your store.

Cute little place. We bought a bottle of wine and cheese and sat outside for a couple of hours. Their selection is quite pricey but good. I wish they had waiters.

Came to get some reading done after walking through eastern market. The espresso is good, a little pricy. I also had the balsamic bbq chicken sandwich — great bread and slaw, not too flavorful otherwise. Not many — or any — outlets for phones and computers. Free wifi. Good location to metro and other shops and restaurants. Espresso machine is noisier than most — loud environment. Overall, grab an espresso and a pastry to go while working or eating somewhere else in the market.

I came in here after a nearly year hiatus and I’m so happy I did. The remodel looks really great and the new floor plan makes so much more sense than the previous arrangement. I love the rustic wood furnishings, the tile floor and the atmospheric Venetian glass lamps. I bought my lunch to go. When I returned to work with lunch in tow and bit into the most scrumptious spinach feta cheese pastry, I kicked myself for not sampling more items. You can bet I’ll be back, SOON! Another note, the server was very friendly helpful with all my questions about the items on display.

This place didn’t magically transport me to Italy, but it’s better than most places out there. Good caffeinated drinks, including cappuccinos in a proper cup and saucer, soft drinks in glass bottles, and tasty pastries make this a neighborhood gem. I was at the doctor near Eastern Market and, on the way back, decided to treat myself to a cappuccino and a pastry. I went in and saw the cannoli. The server warned me that they weren’t very sweet, which confused me because cannoli aren’t supposed to be, and it left me wondering how many people misconstrue the pastry as a sugar bomb. I got one and it was crunchy-but-not-too-crunchy on the outside and with the pleasant filling on the inside. The cappuccino wasn’t mind-blowing but it was pretty solid. The lighting of the place is also soft and relaxing. They have tables outside, if that’s your thing. Humidity makes me wither but I can’t deny people love to sit outside in hot weather. My only recommendation is that the place could be a tad more inviting and comfortable inside for those that want to lounge a while. But that’s a minor observation.

Literally, this place has changed it’s name 5 times since I moved to DC in 2007 from Marvelous Market to Silver Spork to now Radici. Every time they change the lay out of the store and offer fancy cheeses, wines, and pickled goods. I order a latte and it was fine(small for the price) and a nutella cookie. I have a huge chocolate tooth and the nutella cookie was light on the nutella so I wouldn’t order it again. The one thing they have going for them is seating. There’s not tons of seating, but if nearby Peregrine is full, go here for open seating.
