Had dinner with my supervisor on a Tuesday night. The parking lot looked full but we were seated right away. After ordering our plates of food came out maybe 10 minutes later. Fastest turnaround I’ve ever had. And the meals we ordered were both enchiladas. Both plates were small compared to most Mexican restaurants but for me it was perfect. I ordered cheese enchiladas with their spicy queso on top which was a little lacking in cheese within the enchiladas but overall had a good taste. The chips and salsa were also a wonderful starter and would definitely return, especially for service and speed!

El Fenix is a long time favorite of mine, no matter what the location. Nobody can do cheese enchiladas like El Fenix can. add beef fajita meat to it and you are golden! The chips are also by far my favorite Tex Mex chips! If you haven’t requested the extra spicy salsa make sure you do!

Great Mexican food. It can get a bit crowded during the dinner hour which is when we went. But we didn’t have to wait too long for the food. The meal was large and we left full. I say this will be one of our new favorite places for a nice dinner.

Starts with Stellar Customer Appreciation, follows up with food combinations that create a «Party in your Mouth» and brings it home with the«Best Margarita in Dallas». Oh, and wait there’s more! $ 3 – 5 floaters of TOPSHELF Teguilla. Heaven pales!

Nice Tex-Mex restaurant if you enjoy a birthday gathering, but would be too noisy if you’re looking for a romantic dinner. I went out with my colleagues and we have to speak loud in order to hear each other. The food was good and relatively inexpensive. I enjoyed the shrimp taco I ordered but I have seen better in other places. Will probably go back when I visit this town next time.

OK food, great service. Beef fajitas were not worth $ 14– tasted good but very little meat. Chicken enchiladas were smothered in a less than satisfactory tomatillo sauce that tasted like it came straight out of a can. Very disappointing. We unfortunately don’t see ourselves coming back.

I love this place and the food is always good, and the service is excellent. I stop by here every time I pass through town and I am in the mood for Mexican food. The place is always packed so I am not the only person who likes it. The one complaint somebody posted about not liking to pay at the front instead of at the table I don’t agree with them, I love paying at the front that way I don’t lose site of my credit card.

Eat here pretty often. One of the more consistently tasty restaurants. Usually packed and the food is good. It’s always clean and the service good.

I don’t understand the low reviews. The place is currently packed and the meal I had was outstanding. I had a puffy taco and chicken enchilada. Both were very tasty. The sauce on the enchilada was very good! I’ve eaten here now probably 5 times and each time leaves me wanting to come back. Highly recommended!

This was my first visit here. The restaurant was nice and the service was great. I ordered a lunch special, two grilled chicken soft tacos with rice& beans. The tacos were excellent. I’d order them again.

I love this place but we’ve complained multiple times about the foul smell outside of the restaurant. Smells like straight up sewer and I started to gag on my way in. Horrible. Please fix this! Good food tho :)

I am a big fan of the El Fenix chain. This unfortunately was not a good visit. I went away from my go to dish(ground beef nachos) and tried the Spicy Briskett Enchiladas. I was very disappointed. The meat was super tough. I ate my double rice and chips. Also we had to wait a while for drink refils. One bright side of this visit was I found out they have Spicy salsa. Not on the menu but you can request it. As for the meal, I have definitely had there Brisket meat from other locations and it’s always super moist and tender. Idk if this was just an old batch or what. It won’t stop me from visiting but I’ll be sticking to my nachos for awhile.

I gave El Fenix 2 stars because the service was excellent. We received chip refills and extra salsa without ever asking for it and before we needed it. However, the chips were sub par, as was the salsa. The entrée I ordered was a lunch special, beef enchilada and cheese taco with rice and beans. A whole lot of stuff from a can. Very bland, very reminiscent of all the terrible cookie cutter Mexican restaurants in Killeen. I won’t be back

El Fenix is certainly Tex-Mex without any doubt whatsoever. This location in Waxahachie is very tidy and comfortable. The service is «so-so» especially when this place is busy on the weekends. The menu has plenty of options but the quality isn’t the greatest on a full spread. The deep fried tacos are noteworthy and worth a detour here.

Salsa & chips are great! If they made their own tortillas — they would get 5 stars. Portions were hearty & I loved the black refrained beans. Haven’t seen those offered at other Mex restaurants.

It’s Tuesday night and crowded. Always a good sign. Service was good my waitress attentive and my favorite Tenchita Salad is great. If you’ve never had it Try it. A frozen margarita to top it off… worth it! The fajitas are great too. Love they are now closer to those of us south of the Trinity.

Barely edible. Cold beans, rice and enchiladas. Limp tacos and chalupas. Best items on the menu? Apparently my parents’ quesadilla. Oh and the chips are excellent. But not excellent enough to make up for the cold and limp other offerings. And warning –if you are celebrating a birthday and tell them, they won’t say so, and they’ll come and sing to your loved one, then surprise! There’s a charge on your bill for the dessert. Not many places in Texas do this and no others do this without warning you. This restaurant does.

El Fenix is fine… just not this one for some reason… Expensive for what you get, which is pretty blah tasting food. We’ve given it a few tries just to see if they could redeem themselves and had poor service every time. I even got hit on and my wife pretty much dissed by our waitress in front of our kids the last time we were there. There are way too many other choices for Mexican in Hatchie, unless your a married man wanting to pick up a waitress of course.

I’m a fan of the El Fenix in downtown Dallas. They are pretty decent for cheap Mexican food. This location, though, was not that great. The service was great, though. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. The chips here are good, but the salsa was very watered down and lacked flavor. We got a hotter salsa that tasted like they just added jalapeño juice to it. Not good. Pretty much everything else I had lacked flavor, the queso, the cheese enchiladas. The guacamole was decent as well as the swirl margarita. My cousin’s kid who turned 16 was happy, and they sang happy birthday to him, so I guess that’s good.
