The owner of the shop contacted me to understand what happened, and apologized for my inconvenience. He offered me a gift card to compensate for the poor product I received. I also spoke with the store manager and he likewise expressed that he’d like me to return so I can have a better experience. I appreciate the follow up and look forward to returning to the store.

These Guys & Gals Exemplify Why #ACEISTHEPLACE for the helpful hardware team. The Difference in Knowledge, Helpfulness and Customer Service is Night & Day compared to the big box stores… My Hat’s off to the Store Manger and Lou and all the young men there who have helped me many times and gone over and above expectations.

This is a very well stocked, local family owned, Ace Hardware store with competent, friendly staff. A great addition to Wayland! Despite their vanishingly small online presence (Googling «Ace Hardware Wayland» doesn’t find it!) it is actually quite a large store with a full range of products. Much easier and more pleasant shopping experience than trying to get someone to help at one of the big box stores. They are also a dealer for Farrow and Ball and other very high end paints – they even have a decorator on staff to hep pick colors! The associated gourmet store is stocked with all manner of tempting kitchen products.

Amazingly helpful — an employee found me staring with dead eyes at a display (my usual hardware store behavior) and helped me match a bolt I had despaired of ever replacing, cut chain into small pieces (since I’m almost bereft of tools at home), and stuck with me until everything on my nebulous list was assessed. A+!

I’ve found solutions to so many home problems at this store. Got good solid advice on what to buy and how to use products that were new to me. Also wandered in to their associated store, Wayside Gourmet, and found more stuff I needed. So happy!

What a wonderful business! In a world of giant corporations and big box stores, this is a family-​owned and operated hardware, paint, and home decoration store. The owner has opened this «green» hardware store in response to his own frustration when trying to find environmentally sound products to do his own home construction and repair. Jeff (who has a Green Building LEED-​H Platinum certification) and his wife built the first LEED-​H Platinum certified home in Massachusetts in North Truro, the eighth in the nation. I’ve shopped there three times now, and the staff are friendly, helpful and know what they are doing. I hope that the store thrives so that I never have to go to L*wes or H*me Despot again.
