Not bad for a casual lunch spot. I ordered two fish tacos, and a side of chips and salsa. The tacos had a lot of sauce on them, but it was tasty, and didn’t overwhelm the flavor of the fish. I appreciated that they were constructed well and not that messy. The chips didn’t taste homemade, but they were good, and addicting, as was the salsa. They gave me a cup for water and the whole thing was under $ 7. Can’t beat that!

Not Happy Mesa. They are changing the product. Why fix what’s not broken? The Chile con queso is not the same. It’s a cheaper version from the good old queso. I was sad. :(See my sad face. I love the chicken taquitos and I ordered them last night. I get home and get ready to eat and they are the beef ones. That pisses me off. The beef ones suck! They’re gross. I have this feeling that you guy ran out of chicken and instead of saying so you just gave me the other. I got two orders both chicken and both were instead beef. I could have returned it and wasted all this time but I was in work all day and grabbed two orders for dinner. We get home and settle in and then the order is wrong. I tried to like it but I didn’t and it was to late to do anything about it. The damage was done. I was disappointed. What happened? Did the company change ownership? Why are you changing the product? Can you just put Mesa back to the way it was? I’m not the only one complaining about it. I hate to say it but this place is off my list of places to go. I couldn’t give you another chance even if I wanted to because my friend hated the meal last night more thn me so it’s a done deal.

Just tried this restaurant as we were in the mood for Mexican food and already in the shopping center. We still are wanting Mexican food as this surely was not. Perhaps those writing good reviews are accustomed to American Chi Chi type Mexican which is more realistic than this food. The food had interesting flavors but not Mexican! Maybe Southwestern at best… We will not be going back.

I spent all night vomiting after eating the shrimp fajita. My kids ate there as well, with no problems, so it was apparently bad shrimp. I would not chance it ever again, however. It was a hellish night. I started getting sick about 2 hours after eating there.

Fast casual mexican joint. Order at the counter and grab your food. Plenty of seating inside and a few spots outside. Best bets are the burritos, tacos, and enchiladas. You get chips with your meal; the salsa is pretty good but make sure to ask for an extra cup of salsa.

We have tried it twice. Bad both times. One dish was cold and had to be returned. It came back only warm. The food was just edible. Nothing more.

Quite nice standard Mexican fare. Fresh. Large plate. Tasty. The enchiladas are the real ones. Sort of naked. I like the Americanized with quest so had quesadilla Very good. One thing. There is no air conditioning. Luckily we got one o three tables outside. Inside was intolerably hot. But bathrooms very cold. Chips are good. Dips as well. It is in a strip mall

I come to Mesa all the time. Great for lunch and dinner. I love their nachos, tacos and platters. The staff is super friendly and service is pretty quick. They’re great for take-out too! Check em out!

The first thing you have to get past, is the exceptionally loud, ridiculously bad, music. Where do they find covers of Fleetwood Mac? Blasphemy! It is so loud that you might as well forget trying to talk to whomever you are with. Think you’ll just eat outdoors? Ha! It’s twice as loud out there! The food is ok, but you have to eat off plastic plates, and by the end of your burrito, you are eating the soaked paper that is underneath. Very awkward trying to manage all that is on the plate. At least you aren’t trying to talk while eating! If you are hearing impaired, don’t mind noisy chairs being dragged across the floor,(horrible acoustics inside) or that music blasting drowning out your conversation, you may appreciate that you at least get decent sauce, chips, and guacamole. Be warned… it’s also a magnet for after-work parents who let their kids run amuck. Who has the energy to tell their kid to sit quietly and eat?

I ate there Friday for lunch. I had the Norte chicken burrito. The items were fresh and the size was big! They give you chips and salsa with your order. The cashier Mike was off at first. He put my change and receipt on the counter. I don’t like that. He didn’t greet me like the other cashiers greeted people. Once my order was up, he did tell me to have a good day. I would definitely eat here again. The burrito wasorder and the price was 9 bucks. No drink incl.

In need of Mexican food, I came across this location through Unilocal recently. What a great little place! I definitely think it deserves a higher rating. Before coming in, you have to keep in mind that this is essentially a fast food joint. I’m not sure why expectations are so high for a $ 7 meal? You order at the counter, for goodness sake. I usually opt for the taco platter which comes with two tacos, a side of beans, a side of red rice, and a big handful of chips and salsa. The price is very fair for the amount of food. I’ll admit it: this is by NOMEANS an authentic Mexican experience. That said, it’s damn tasty and it fills you up. The employees can be a little curt but they are just trying to move through the very long lunch line as quickly as possible. My only complaint is that there is not always room to sit. I usually end up ordering takeout because the place is overflowing with business casual groups of co-workers out on break. The tables are not the cleanest during prime dining hours either. Still, I love to grab lunch here on my way home from my internship. Cheap. Quick. Yummy! Always hits the spot.

This place has awesome Mexican food, and very quick service! The employees are nice and the establishment is pretty clean from what I saw. I’ve had my share of Mexican food around the country and this place is up there with them! If your ever passing the Gateway shopping center definitely stop in!

The fish tacos and taquitos are my favorite! This restaurant has the best fish tacos in the area. The salsa here is awesome too. I used to eat here at least 2 times a week!

It’s fast(ish) food style Mexican — and you can get a decent taco platter for $ 6.99($ 7.99 if you want shrimp or fish). I opted for 1 pork &1 carne asada. Both were good — but the asada had lots of onion on top — next time I will know to get it on the side. Rice, beans & chips. Quick service, big portions, no issues. Gets CROWDED during the weekday lunch rush.

Stopped here on the way home from Philly. Not bad. Quality of the food was good. Nice atmosphere. Pricing was not too bad, a little on the high side for fast-ish food. However, the quality is good. The food actually looks like the picture on the menu, and looks appetizing. It was a pleasant experience.

I wanted to update my last review and state that management reached out after I voice my concerns. I really appreciate it and will do business there again I’m sure.

Meh. I had the fajita burrito smothered with guac. Lack any authenticity of Mexican food and I left feeling it was overpriced. I actually prefer Wegman’s burritos to this one.

I wish there were better standards of ratings on Unilocal or some other criteria for judging different types of establishments eg fine dining vs. fast casual. Any who, I happened upon Mesa Mexican Grill looking for some grub without a Unilocal consult but did read a few reviews before drafting mine. Being of Spanish descent and having lived on both coasts as well as having been to Mexico I consider myself a pretty discerning judge of this type of food. Besides I just love Mexican cuisine. I would definitely put Mesa in the fast casual category alongside Chipotle, Qdoda and Baja Fresh. My biggest problem with most of these places is that if you don’t come at peak times the food sits in containers all day. If you go to any of these places at 3 – 4 pm you’ll know what I mean. Since I’m eating at Mesa at 11:30am it’s fresh. As far as the food here. I chose the Fajita Burrito and got upsold to the platter for a couple bucks more that includes more chips with cheese on them. I like the side bar that includes fresh raw onions, fresh cilantro and jalapeños. I think the accompanying small side of salsa was the worst part of the meal. Sadly cause salsa may be one of the easiest things to make well. Overall, the burrito was good. Healthy portions of chicken and cooked onions inside along with pinto beans and rice. I will definitely return here and would choose this over Baja Fresh(esp. the one in KOP) and Qdoba but wouldn’t dare choose this over some of the Authentic Mexican spots in nearby Norristown. And if I’m in Philly, Fogettaboutit!!! One final note: The gentlemen at the register(the guy with glasses) was beyond sweet and super friendly. Kudos to him.

Probably more of a 2.5 stars on this one, but I was feeling generous and rounded up. First of all, I need to add a disclaimer that I’m a huge fan of Mexican food(my blood is probably 30% queso). And that includes fast casual options like Qdoba and especially Chipotle. Visited Mesa while in the area doing some shopping and got a veggie burrito bowl. I liked that the burritos come with a side of chips and salsa unlike at Chipotle. However, I felt like the different choices were a bit confusing– I felt like there were 10 options, all of which had one ingredient was different. My veggie bowl consisted of black beans, rice, guac, and a medley of vegetables– zucchini, carrots and green peppers. I thought the guac was good, beans could have used a little spice, and the rice was a yellow spanish rice(I prefer the white cilantro rice like they have at Chipotle). The medley of vegetables was awfully odd to me. I assumed I’d be getting peppers and onions– I guess maybe one of the other 10 options had that instead. The vegetables were cooked well but needed some more spice. In all, I’d agree with some of the other reviewers that referred to this as Americanized Mexican. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again, but it wasn’t the worst meal I’ve ever eaten.
