Live band was really good. Server came over immediately and took our drink order. The drinks came immediately that’s about where the good turned to bad. I ordered the pan fried oysters with fries, garlic bread and clam chowder. The oysters were fishy and mushy and without flavor. I asked for a side of ranch which never came. She never brought our clam chowder and never came back for 30 minutes to see if we wanted more drinks. Terrible service and to top it off it was 18 $ a plate!

Ate on the opening night for winter dining available on Thursday-Friday. We had the steak special and blackened salmon on Caesar salad. Steak was very good. Cooked as requested and tender. Salmon was also excellent with taste of clam chowder. Entrance into Mallards needs to be more inviting and welcoming. Very dark and gloomy. We will definitely be back. Also the server Cory was friendly and welcoming.

Really, really great food! We had the strawberry salad, Mac and cheese, and blackened shrimp carbonara! All were excellent, fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced. Wine suggestions were also great! We ate on the patio, which has a brilliant and beautiful view of the mountains and gulf course! The service was probably the best part of this restaurant experience! A young waiter from our hometown from Livermore, CA was very nice, helpful, attentive, and respectful! All in all, great restaurant!

Bad upper management. Overworked staff. If the new owner gets their s. Hit together, I’ll change my review.

Pathetic. This is a resort. You make your living by creating good customer experiences in the hopes that they become repeat customers and refer others to your resort. This restaurant on the golf course has bad food, and worse service. I am guessing the people they use for waitstaff are actually the food service people for the golf course snack shack. None of them acted like they knew anything about actually waiting tables. Nor did I get the impression that they cared one way or the other. Food was expensive considering the poor, poor quality. Sunday morning in late summer should be your ‘A’ game day. Felt like they had the practice squad in. Everything was bland and had that texture associated with sitting around too long before being brought to the table. My toast actually came out cold. Not cool, but cold… like they made it when I ordered and let it sit on a plate while they cooked the rest of my meal, and let THAT get cool before bringing my almost cool omelette and cold toast to the table. Our waitress was obviously put out that she had to come in early for the burden of diners, when she probably had a hard day of handing people hotdogs and chips ahead of her. The concept of how earning a tip works was clearly beyond her. We could see our waitress in back drinking coffee and complaining to everyone in the back. She was gone so long we finally asked the only waitress who seemed to want to work if she could just get our bill for us since our waitress didn’t seem inclined to come out until her coffee was gone or her shift got over. Won’t go there again, don’t waste your time unless you want something from the bartender or a hotdog for the golf cart.

Sat at bar. Bartender could only be described as miserable. Couldn’t be bothered to help me. I’ll stop short of naming names, but if this were my restaurant I’d be more than a little concerned about staff that exhibit such a poor attitude to people paying the rent. Beer(Deschutes Twilight) poured flat and I’m suspicious about the last time the taps were properly serviced. Food was typical average golf clubhouse food. Towards ok/average. Nothing to write home about. Coupled with poor service, it’ll be my last visit here. I’m sure something at the end of the block would be a better option.

Love Mallard’s! Had the pulled pork belly sandwich recently and it was too good to share! The wait staff is unbelievably friendly and the good always hits the spot.

Sunday, we went to a fantastic wedding catered and located at the Resort at the Mountain! The food was excellent at the reception. The following day, a group of us decided to meet up with the bride and groom for breakfast at 10:30am. It was a disaster! The option for breakfast ended at 11am and we were waiting for the remainder of our group to arrive so they extended breakfast for us. The café seemed to be very understaffed! Our waitress was the manager, she was waiting on us while tending the bar – needlessly to say, not very attentive. For simple menu items, such as an order of egg whites, shouldn’t take over an hour to be made. Food arrival was very inconsistent to the time ordered. They forgot a person’s order of waffle and everyone else was almost done eating. The people that joined us an hour later, had food arrive shortly after the waffle finally did(5 – 10 minutes)! Mediocre food at best. The bride and groom requested their leftover cake to be delivered, not only did it take a substantial amount of time… they brought over the wrong couples’ cake. Splitting the check and paying took a long time and many had to leave to get to the airport on time.

Amazing food. I ordered the bison bacon meatloaf, which happened to just come out of the oven as I ordered and would be another hour or more before it was cool enough to cut. It was one of the only dishes that didn’t have grains with it. I asked if they did room service and said they didn’t, but in this case they would. It was almost 2 hours before I got the meal, but it was totally worth the wait and the staff was incredible. They got an extra tip for taking customer service to another level. Thank you tons!!!

The food was plentiful but of mediocre quality at lousy prices. The service was slow, but they appeared to be under staffed. Would recommend leaving the resort to explore other nearby dining options.

We came here three days in a row because breakfast was included in our hotel stay. We found the service to be very disappointing and inconsistent. We experienced decent service the first day, and horrible service the second day and the third day. There is no Front of the House management — we waited over 30 minutes to be seated when there were many empty tables waiting to be cleaned. Other patrons ahead of us were so frustrated they just left. On our third visit we waited over 10 minutes before ordering our food and another 15 before we got our food – and was not prepared correctly. I should also mention that we ordered room service for dinner one night and our ravioli was so sweet and creamy we found it to be inedible. It is unfortunate because the staff were all so friendly and nice but they just seem mismanaged.

We came here on the hottest day of the year. In an effort to escape the heat we ate inside although seating on the patio looked nice and would have been the better choice. I get they are up on the mountain and might not need AC very often but it was HOT in the dining room. Service was slow and I think the forgot our food but once we got it we did like the food. I had the blue cheese bacon cheese burger and fries. My wife had the home made corn dogs. It came with two huge corn dogs. If you are at the resort this seems like a place to eat and the food is good. Maybe have a snack before you come though…

This is such a torn review and I hate to have to do this, but I’m frustrated that things NEVER get better at one of my favorite places on earth. If you ever get a chance to stay at the Resort at the Mtn… DO. It’s amazing. I enjoy my time there so much. It’s truly heaven and a home away from home for golfing, swimming, tennis, the SPA is fantastic and one of the best I’ve been too all over the Pac NW and even Arizona. Mallards…this adorable, gorgeously set café with outside seating overlooking a valley that encompasses part of the golf course… truly one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been to, has the worst, and I mean WORST, service I’ve ever experienced and it happens again and again and again. The food is decent, but we go for the ambience and the outdoor seating. You won’t get what you ordered. You will barely get a smile. The servers seem to be «put out» by your presence. Nothing will be correct. It will take over an hour to have a simple salad… but again, the scenery is to die for. So give it a go, just have zero expectations for a delightful, competent and helpful staff.
