Fulham Salon

I like the rustic atmosphere and it reminds me a bit of home with the wood tones. On a cold, windy day it was nice to step inside the warm salon and be greeted by smiles and friendly folks. As a guy, nice salons like Fulham can make me feel like an outsider, but not here. I felt comfortable and was treated well.
I showed the stylist, Jenny, a picture of what I wanted my hair to resemble and told her whatever you can do would be great. I feel like she went above and beyond for me and was also knowledgeable about my hair in particular — like how I can best get my hair to stay the way I want it to.
In the end, my cut looked great and with a little bit of styling clay I was pretty impressed with the way things turned out. I felt like a new man with a fresh look. Jenny’s talented and friendly, and since I believe she’s heading to the Newton salon I may have to check out that location too.

Love love love this salon! I’ve been coming here since shortly after they opened in Newton Centre. It’s tough to find a fantastic, talented colorist and stylist. They’re all here! Before she moved to LA, I saw Alex then I started seeing Danielle. Wherever she goes, I’d follow. Which is why I’m now sitting in her new chair at the Wellesley location. Every time I go in I’m accommodated, I feel special, I feel like she really listens to me and she’s honest. If something isn’t going to look good on me, she’ll tell me. If you wanna look and feel beautiful and special, come to Fulham.

I can’t say enough about the stylists and staff at Fulham Salon Wellesley; Lauren Andrews in particular. I’ve been seeing Lauren for a few years now; each and every time I leave the salon I know that Lauren has truly worked her magic. Just yesterday she gave me the most beautiful cool brown while still keeping some of my brighter highlights visible… and an incredible cut to boot! Seriously, Lauren is a true talent-​so much so that both my mother and sister travel to see her in Wellesley rather than see someone closer to home. Go see Lauren in Wellesley, you will not be disappointed!

I went in for a cut and color with Danielle, and she is awesome. She listened to exactly what I wanted and my hair color and cut came out better than I had imagined. On top of that, the salon is lovely and everyone there was friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to come back.

This review is for customer service only. I was really excited to try this place. I had been to the Fulham Salon in Newton about six months ago (I paid full price and did NOT use a Groupon) and had a good experience. So when I saw the Groupon for the Wellesley location I was really excited. I called to make an appointment weeks in advance right before going on vacation– as I wanted to show off a new do! I even readjusted my work schedule to accommodate the appt.!! So– imagine how disappointed I was when the salon called two days before my appointment to tell me they would not honor my Groupon because I had visited their sister salon in Newton. I was like– the Groupon said right on it that it was for the Wellesley salon ONLY and the fine print said not valid if visited the salon in the past 12 months. I have NOT visited that salon at all. The wording was extremely misleading. To me– it seems like they are 2 different salons and both advertise 2 different types of Groupons. So, they waited until two days before my appointment to tell me — leaving me scrambling to find another place before my vacation. With the amount of money we spend at salons– I expect a high caliber place with exceptional customer service. This place isn’t it. They very easily could have honored my Groupon due to the confusion– but did not. The woman I spoke to on the phone even acknowledged that the language was not clear and that they would change it in future. So hopefully that will help future clients, but it certainly leaves me high and dry with a Groupon I can’t use.

Katherine did my hair, she took her liberties with the style, applied her expertise about what would look best but listened to what I wanted. I love the shape and reduced volume of my hair. The shape/​style lasted until my commencement the next day — looked and felt amazing.
I wish the color was a little lighter than «sunkissed» but I should have been more clear when explaining what I wanted.

I have never ever had my hair done red and left happy. I always thought it was because I liked it on others while it just wasn’t for me. Not the case. Alex ACTUALLY LISTENED when I said match my skin tone. Im impressed, to say the least. I love the way it looks. I thought I was going to be forever highlighting my hair the same boring way. This is coming from someone who has been to a variety of top stylists with awards and all. She beat them.

Katherine did a great job of balayage & haircut. When I went there I wasn’t sure what kind of cut and color to go for. Katherine was very nice in explaining the different styles. I decided to go short and get at least 10 inches cut in order to donate to locks of love. The braids that she made before cutting were helpful in keeping together the hair to carry back home to ship. The natural color of my hair is the highest on the darkness scale and it is quite resistant to coloring but she was very patient in keeping the color for a long time to get the lightest it can during that session. I’m very happy with my new look and got several compliments.

I went to Fulham Salon today to get my hair colored for the very first time. I am Indian and have thick black curly hair. Having never experimented with color before I was nervous about how it would take to my hair as well as look against my skin tone. I have wanted to try a sombre on my hair for quite some time now but kept chickening out. I finally decided to go for it and had made and appointment at a Salon in Somerville.
After making my original appointment I found a Groupon for an Ombré/​Balayage, haircut, toner and blow out for Fulham Salon in Wellesley, MA. I researched reviews of the Salon and a majority being positive I decided to purchase the Groupon. I was nervous about using a discount coupon to color my hair for the first time but I decided it was time for me pull the trigger.
I was extremely nervous when I went in this morning. Katherine Johnston was my stylist. I explained to her that it was my first time, that I was nervous and that I was relying heavily on her to tell me what would look good. She explained the entire process to me and went over color options. As previously mentioned I relied heavily on Katherine’s expertise and I am very happy with the result. I would highly recommend the salon. The place was clean, with a hipster vibe and the entire staff was very friendly. I was able to find street parking easily right in front of the salon.

I have never written a Unilocal review before but my experience here was so great I had to make an exception! My visit to Fulham Salon was exceptional. I saw Katherine, and she did an amazing job. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted but she was very knowledgable and gave me some great suggestions. I ended up with balayage highlights that look so natural and beautiful. I have never had such a great experience at a hair salon before! Will definitely be coming back to see Katherine again!

Lauren A. is amazing! She is so personable and knowledgeable about hair. She gave me a fabulous haircut and partial highlights and kept me entertained with great conversation during my appointment on Saturday. Lauren made some great suggestions about changing my hair a little bit, but did it without being pushy. I HIGHLY recommend her and have nothing but positive things to say about her as a hair stylist!

Great experience with Alex at the new Fulham salon in Wellesley!
First, the salon: the new location is very chic, rustic chic to be more precise — exposed brick, wooden furniture. The back part of the salon is spacious and has a lot of natural light. I can imagine your wait if you color your hair or do another procedure will be very pleasant.
I came for a haircut and as always when going to a new stylist was very tense. I have thick hair and a short modern, funky haircut can very easily turn into a mama hairstyle/​look. This was the case with my previous haircut when I went to a new stylist. Not with Alex. She is a true master. She listens what you want and immediately gets it. I ended up with a short modern haircut that embraces my face and reflects my lifestyle and personality. It is very easy to style and I and get the same look when I style my hair at home.
As a bonus Alex has a very pleasant disposition and is nice to talk to — this is a statement from somebody like me who normally doesn’t engage in any conversation with the stylist.
Bottom line — Alex is a very talented stylist and does incredible job. Do yourself a favor and try the new Fulham salon.

So happy about the opening of this new location! My mom and I both got haircuts here and are both very happy with the results! The salon is very clean and chic, and the staff is very friendly. Arielle cut my hair, she was so nice and really took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my hair, and it came out great. The pricing is very reasonable, and depends on the experience of each stylist, which I think is a great way to organize it. Simply put, they know what they are doing when it comes to hair!

This review is for Arielle Moynihan. We came in on a
groupon for a haircut and blowout, to which we added a deep conditioning treatment. Arielle took 5 – 10 minutes to discuss the pros and cons of the cut that my female companion was thinking about, and we decided on taking off 2.5 inches of growth, and redoing her bangs to better frame her face. Arielle decided to do a combination of dry and wet cutting to get the geometry right. Deep conditioning treatment and S/​C were all from Nioxin, as Fulham/​Wellesley is a P&G professional salon. The haircut was executed well, and has grown in nicely over the past few months. Well done, and recommended.

I’ve been a client of Ali’s for years. She is an artist. She knows her hair, she is phenomenal. She is the only person I truly trust with my hair. All her judgments and suggestions have yet to disappoint. My hair always look healthy and natural. The location of this salon is great. Plenty of parking, there are little shops close by, and the décor inside is rustic chic and very welcoming.
*I got the shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, and heat protector. All great and affordable products.
*Also purchased the Unilocal deal. They not only honored it, but did not make me feel uncomfortable using it. :) Love this place!

Jillian does an amazing job of making me look my best and most professional. Every time I get my hair cut, I get compliments on it. I often have her cut my hair before big meetings and events at work.
I live in Cambridge, and I have followed Jillian for 5 years, ever since she worked at a different salon in Harvard Square. I am never in Wellesley, and yet, I drive all the way out there just so Jillian can still cut my hair. I suspect her style will be a perfect fit for the high-​end professionals that live in Wellesley.

I’ve been a client of Jillian’s for going on 4 years now. When she moved over to Fulham Salon… well, I followed her. She’s got a magic touch!
Over time, Jillian has taken me from a dark brunette to a bright red to a platinum ombré, and she’s continued to dazzle throughout my wedding planning process by sculpting a pretty awesome updo. I was torn between several concepts, and she found a way to combine all of them into one great big bundle of beauty.
She is always excited to try new things and have a few laughs along the way, and the Fulham team is a great home for her. The facilities are clean, modern, and utilize cutting edge technology in their equipment and product. Seriously, anything you want done, they can do it. I took a stack of business cards with me the last time I visited, because I’m always asked where I get my hair done.
You know you’ve got a good thing going when you have clients volunteering as brand ambassadors for you! A definite recommendation, a very happy client. I even got my fiancé caring about his hair now, and he’s turned into a repeat customer with Jillian. Now THAT’S a feat!

Looks like I’ll be coming to Wellesley for my haircuts now! I’ll follow Missy wherever she goes — so long as it’s in Massachusetts.
I’m looking forward to checking out the new studio. If it’s anything like the one in Newton, I won’t be disappointed by the location change. Updates to come after my next haircut!
