Food is good but service is terrible. We went in starving with a toddler and we had to wait quite a bit to even get a table. But then we had to wait FOREVER for our food! They messed up and didn’t even bother telling us. There were no other tables with kids. They really should have known better

Food was FANTASTIC. The reason it did not get a higher rating is due to the customer service. The waitress was basically mute with no smiles at all. In addition, the front area was pretty empty of a hostess — when one(finally!!) arrived, no smiles and not very friendly. OK place for brunch but would not highly recommend.

This is my favorite place to have breakfast. We eat with our eyes and their presentation is perfect. Everything looks delicious and taste even better!

Romantic dinner tonight. Good food, great service. Courtney was our server. She took good care of us. I got the shrimp app. It was very good with a smoky flavor. Then the lamb shank entrée. A huge dish with lots of veg. and mashed potatoes. Gf’s petite filet was cooked perfect. It came out sizzling hot! Both desserts were very good. A good night for us both.

I was here recently for a friend’s bridal party and we were seated in the side room next to the register, which was quite nice because of all the windows. The menu was set for the group, with appetizers that were finger-foods and small sandwiches, entrée, and desserts, along with the tea. While the tea, appetizers, and dessert were all very good, my entrée was not impressive. There must have been a miscommunication when my friend made the reservations because they had it listed as one vegan dish needed. I’m only vegetarian, but touched that my preferences were remembered I offered to take the vegan dish. It was a salad: leafy greens, raw onions, and caramelized cauliflowers. As a side dish, it would have been perfect. As an entrée, I suddenly didn’t feel guilty about eating so many appetizers! My friend had mentioned that she paid $ 35 per person, which is reasonable considering all the food plus the quiche main entrees for everyone else, but $ 35 for a plate of raw vegetables? I ate my shower gift(scones!) on the way home because I was still hungry. The lack of even trying to make a decent main dish was surprising.

Dined here twice for a company lunch and love the food and atmosphere! Both times we got the private room and it was so cozy and bright(lots of natural light). The servers on both occasions were so friendly and enthusiastic — you can tell that they really enjoy what they do. I had the Quiche Lorraine with side salad and the lobster bisque both times, which were absolutely delish. The meal also comes with some sort of bread(First visit was individual mini corn bread loafs per person, second time was a blueberry bread). They have an excellent hot and iced tea selection(comes in a glass kettle with a tea light to keep it warm). Will definitely have to try some at my next visit! Great food, service, and atmosphere! Highly recommended for a peaceful, delicious and relaxing meal!

It saddens me to give this two stars. I have been here before for an Elsa tea and it was really great. Today our experience was not good as far as customer service goes. We decided upon this location for Father’s Day brunch. We arrived at 10:15 a.m. and were told the wait for a table would be 30 minutes. That was fine with us. Ten minutes later the hostess came over and asked if we minded sitting out on the covered patio(it was torrentially downpouring), but we said that would be fine. We were shown to our table and given waters right away which was all good up until this point. We waited 20 minutes and no server. The hostess kept coming out and we figured she was alerting them to send someone out, but that was not the case. Two other tables were seated outside during the time we waited and when the third table was seated 2 minutes later a waitress showed up to take their order. Both the people at the table which came in after us and then us started asking when we would be getting a server. They sent someone over and were not apologetic about it all and the hostess never came over to apologize although she continued to come out to the patio and actually avoiding eye contact with us and the other table. Our food arrived 1 hour after we sat down and at this point we were cold too as the rain never let up. The food while delicious was not worth the $ 120 price for 4 people and especially given the unnacceptable service.

Attended a wedding shower at 3:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon and what a cute little place! A mix of a ladies clothing boutique(next door), a bakery, a take-out area, gift shop and function room/restaurant. Who would have known such a cute place existed here if not for an invitation! Servers circulated at the start of the shower offering stuffed mushrooms, teriyaki skewers, maryland crab cakes, jam filled tarts and drinks. Shortly after we were asked to have a seat and a spinach salad with goat cheese, cranberries, walnuts and a terrific balsamic dressing was served. We were all just assuming appetizers and finger sandwiches given the time of day and«tea house» connotation. Much to our surprise, a chicken breast(we thought poached) topped with a light lemony artichoke topping over summer squash with a side of roasted red potatoes was served. So tender, flavorful and tasty! All followed by a light chocolate mousse for dessert. The room was comfortable for approximately 40 – 50 guests. Outdoor seating appeared to be available but not used by this shower. I would love to return for a pre-fixed meal or perhaps their Sunday brunch. Stop in for a visit if you’re driving by!

Went here — after years of looking forward to it — for a Mother’s Day tea. We waited 45 minutes for a tray of simple(plain) sandwiches and pastries! The tea was yummy, but the rest of it was underwhelming, especially for the cost. I also thought the ambience was a little off. Really, no flowers on the table? If you’re going to make me wait almost ANHOUR for food, make it nicer than what I could easily have done in my own home.

We had breakfast for 4 with a pot of tea. 3 waffle orders, 1 French toast, and a side of bacon and home fries. It cost $ 87 dollars?!? For 3 waffles and 2 slices of French toast. Plus 1 side of bacon and home fries. $ 115 breakfast that would have cost $ 30 at any breakfast place. $ 115 for bread and 2 small sides!

This place is amazing. The staff is so kind and helpful and more than happy to help you if you are having a hard time selecting tea! I do wish they stayed with the tea from Jolie Tea Company but it is still great! Great quality food. The scones are amazing!

Wasn’t overly impressed with breakfast here. Just got scrambled eggs which were not that good. I get that it’s a tea house but the vibe here just seems so off.

Ambiance — A++++ the building is the epitome of north shore boston quaintness. The dining room and patio are inviting and comfortable — can be a bit crowded if some has brought small(loud) kids. Lots of parking very convenient. Service — A — very attentive and warm Food/Menu A++ very tasty; lots of options and the china is so beautiful… you really feel like you’re in a tea house. Male manager — think his name is Chris is always very warm and welcoming whenever we go.

This was a most enjoyable stop for our family while visiting the area. The atmosphere and staff were delightful. The tea was delicious, as was the tea plate of sandwiches and sweets. A tea plate for one can easily be shared by two people.

What a lovely place to have lunch! I have been there several times in the last two times I have been for falafel. Who knew then and in Windham Massachusetts you could get light delicious falafel. My choice today Was to have their Greek salad with falafel on top. It was a delightful combination. The waitstaff is always helpful and courteous. If I had one suggestion it might be to make the pasta salad a tad more traditional. Or to call it something else. Three different choices of iced tea all good! And out of this world cornbread.

This is a lovely location. Unfortunately we had an incident that made a big impression but at the end of the figurative day, it was resolved faultlessly The coffee was perfect, the basket of muffins delicious and the service attentive. Comfortable seating, not too noisy in the room and great food. Update 9÷1÷14: The review above had been edited because it described a problem that management has been very responsive to so we are going back to try again. Stay tuned. Update 1÷5÷15 with my apologies that I could not get to a computer sooner and apparently you can’t edit from a phone. Anyhow, we returned as the manager’s guests and had a wonderful brunch. I believe that what happened to us won’t happen to anyone else so I’ve done some edits above. I appreciate the good intentions and great communications.

Fantastic is the only thing you can say about this place. Super impressed with service. Everyone from hostess, manager, servers made us feel at home. We had a late breakfast and was not rushed at all even though they ended breakfast service 15 mins after we got there. Eggs Benedict and French omelette was superb. We can’t wait to try lunch and dinner at this place. Also looks like a great place for a cozy wedding or other special event.

I came to Wenham Tea House last month for a special occasion. To ask my best friend to be my maid of honor :) I wanted something very girly, special, and memorable, and our afternoon tea was perfect! The tables were nicely set, and the room was comfortable. We were even asked if the window being open was ok since it was such a beautiful day. Everyone was very accommodating and happy to make our time there fun. We all chose different teas, which were poured for us white-glove style, and kept warm over tealights. We all enjoyed the selections we made. Then came out the trays of mini sandwiches, scones, and desserts. Everything was very good and I enjoyed the clotted cream, marmalade and jellies. The servings per person were generous, and we ended up taking some of it home. Our server was also very willing to take several photos of us. The bill for 4 people, tax and tip included, was $ 100, which I think was well worth the experience! I will definitely return and I highly recommend the afternoon tea! I think the queen would approve ;)

Came in on a Sunday at noon and was sat immediately. This establishment has a very nice ambience and is good for large parties(saw a group of 10 ladies have Sunday tea). The scones are deceptively filling — according to the new owners, the scones are intentionally smaller based on feedback. The scones are delicious and I could have eaten the clotted cream by itself. Note that the ‘pot of tea for two’ can easily be enough for 3 — 4 people. The omelet was very fluffy — note the plate was very hot so be careful. I liked the quiche — especially the crust. Apparently the tea house is the oldest consecutively running tea house in the country, going strong at 100 years. Under new management for the past two months; if they are running this well at two months, I look forward to going back.
