My family walked into First Trax on a Sunday to rent some paddle boards. We didn’t know that they were scheduled to close 2 hours later and that in the summer they have limited hours. We also didn’t know how BIG the boards were for our small SUV. We would have been out of luck anywhere else, but not at First Trax. The gentleman who worked here was SO accommodating, allowing us to keep the board over night and offering to pick up the boards for our home. I have never experienced such great, friendly customer service and I was extremely pleased with the product and employees. Great place, highly recommended!

Easily one of the better shops in the area for all your gear needs. Rental prices are much cheaper than at the mountain; your novice friends will be in good hands with much better equipment and service than they would elsewhere. You can get a basic tune @ $ 30 or go for the stone grind for a bit more. Either way, the staff is knowledgeable without being pretentious and it’s on the main road, likely en route if you’re staying closer to town. Most of the merchandise is reasonably priced given the fact that this is a mountain town, but they have a variety of options that suit all levels of expertise. All in all, you can’t really go wrong with getting the best value for your buck!

It has potential, but the folks there are just not friendly. Snobbish would be a good description. I have recently Christmas shopped at every ski shop in the valley and the other shops employees and owners are much nicer. I have spent at least 2k on skis, bindings and other gifts at First Trax, you would think that they would say hello to you. Just got new boots at Mt Snow Boot Fitters and they where awesome!!! I don’t think that I will be going back to First Trax.
