There is something about this place, perhaps its the ambiance and modern décor that makes it such a chill and inviting place. However dispite its goods looks and taylored architectural design, in no way is that a façade to the what kind of food they actually serve here. Everything I’ve ordered in the past(Yellowtail, scallops, lamb shank, short ribs) all came out excellent and I would recommend getting any one of those dishes or all of them if youre not ballin on a budget. Many restaurants in the hip and trendy parts of LA tend to brand themselves by being celebrity owned and attempt to make up for their lack of good tasting food with cool drinks or fancy interiors. This place on the other doesnt have the celebrity offiliation, but its got the great food to go with the cool interior and fancy drinking, making for one great atmosphere to enjoy a night out. The gist… High points: This place has the whole package: great food and great overall atmosphere. Low points: Nothing much to say here.

We came here for my friend’s 21st birthday. I liked the dark atmosphere, nice décor, and the curtained booths. The music was deafening though. Sometimes the volume would be okay, but then it would be raised to a level where you could get serious ear damage. Was our table located right under the speakers or something? I felt like I had to yell at my friends for the most part. As for the food, I ordered a plain O-Bar Mac N Cheese, and I must say that it was the best I ever had. So creamy and cheesy! The bread crumbs on top added to the flavor and texture. And they give you a big portion too! Although it took awhile to come, I thought it was worth the wait. It’s REALLYHOT though so watch out! I think I burned off all of my taste buds because I dug into it so fast :\ I didn’t order drinks because they ran out of ingredients, for most of them but I had sips of some. The mango mojito is pretty good. Service was alright. Our waiter wasn’t there for the most part since he was busy with the other tables. So we had a different hostess half of the time, and she was very helpful and nice. If you reserve, ask if there’s a big party around that time. We came when there was a huge party a few tables away from us. They were really obnoxious and loud. As for parking, try that sushi parking lot if there’s room. If not then, go for residential parking. 3 star rating + 0.5 star for not charging us for the dessert fee. They do not allow outside drinks, desserts and other foods inside.

I sat at the bar and my bartender Jed was friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. I enjoyed the baked mac and cheese, really yummy and especially loved the crispy parts. It’s a big dish as well and enjoyed the art lecture by West Hollywood artists group. This place has great atmosphere and a really cool hip spot. I highly recommend it. My only concern was where to park?

I’ve been here a few times and it’s been a severe disappointed on the whole. The food is not good. As in I wouldn’t finish eating it no matter hungry you still are not good. We tried half a dozen different appetizers and the best thing was a side salad. You ask yourself then how hard is it to fuck up a side salad, right? The bartender answered no to nearly everything we asked for. Out of Hendricks, out of St. Germaine, the didn’t carry Vox, there was only enough Grey Goose left for half a martini. The capper was when my sister asked what kind of champagne they had, they said ‘house champagne’. In her response she asked what brand and they gave her a knowing look and said ‘house champagne’. Code for girl… you don’t want to drink that. They didn’t have a wine list but offered one red and one white. They also only had enough red for 1 glass. They were nice about it as we all managed to find something to drink, but I was like really, it’s Saturday night and you’re out of everything? I was there for a birthday party in the lounge area and the bus boys were helpful, but that was really the only service to speak of that came to our tables. A female bartender chided us when we were parting with our balloon arrangement by saying you better not get those stuck in our fabulous light fixtures. Yeah… don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon for anything here.

Gave this place another shot via a date night w/my fiancé and had a great time! A tip from the manager was to park behind City Hall — it’s free! It was a slow Thursday night so we were able to be seated in one of the fancy curtained booths — such cute and romantic atmosphere! The service was excellent — very informative, friendly and attentive. My guy ordered the O-BURGER with cheddar cheese. He devoured that sucker with much pleasure! I thought I wanted to try something new and different, but I couldn’t stay away from the LOBSTERMAC N CHEESE. There’s gotta be crack in it! I was a little good and had a side of sauteed spinach with it which worked well with the dish. I was glad to not finish the whole thing, so I could relive the experience the next day at work :) O Bar’s awesome and highly recommended. Go to it!

From the look of the website, I thought this would be a good place to check out. It looked like the inside was trendy and the menu seemed fairly down to earth compared to its interior. I’m a sucker for comfort food and when I saw Lobster Mac and Cheese on the menu, I knew it was somewhere I had to check out. To start with, the food was Horrible. Yes, Horrible with a capital H. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken because it was supposed to be a classic O Bar dish. It should then be a great dish right? WRONG. The buttermilk fried chicken was very dry and had no flavor what so ever. I really don’t like too much salt in my food, but oh my goodness, this chicken was bland beyond belief. Coming from someone who uses minimal salt, that’s really saying something~ I didn’t stick around to have dessert or drinks because my entrée itself was bad. My friend was upset that I suggested the place and wasn’t pleased with his meal either. Would we go back? No, not even for a complimentary dinner to try and show us the food isn’t that bad. Enough said right when you would refuse a free meal?!?

I met some girlfriends at O-bar for happy hour and thought the location was good since we are all coming from different directions. There is street parking in the residential area to the South, but to the North it all requires permits. When I arrived at 6 the place was a bit dead, which is fine but leaving at 9 the lounge area had a good crowd. The crowd involved a couple 30 somethings but mostly 40 to 50 year olds. For some reason I was expecting a bit younger, but it was more where my mom goes when she wants to hang with the gals. The bartender let us know that they cannot make most drinks on the menu since they are changing the bar menu and are out of a lot of the ingredients needed. The cocktails were good and half price. The appetizer menu consisted on 3 items calamari, BBQ beef sliders, and chicken strips. Each was a couple dollars off of their regular price but not half off like I had thought was advertised. Overall, the food is not a bargain, and was really blah. Overall, I thought the place was okay for a cocktail, if they had a real menu for it but not much else.

I went back to Obar the other night. My Dad was in town for Christmas and I wanted to take him to a place I knew would have amazing food. To start we had the crusted goat cheese and beet salad. It was beyond delicious. The flavors worked perfectly together. Mouth watering. As an entrée I had the Prince Edward mussels. They were HUGE, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The sauce they put them in is so creamy and an excellent pairing. It is my favorite dish here. My father had the filet as his entrée. Now he is picky about steak. He wants very well done meat, that is juicy and tender on the inside. It is a difficult thing to accomplish, but the chef did it perfectly. My Dad said it was«the best filet he’d ever had.» He does not shy away from criticism, but in this instance, he was overflowing with compliments. I had a bite and it was indeed amazing. Flavorful, juicy, and an excellent cut of meat. Well done chef. For dessert we had the ice cream sampler. The manager joked with us that he was colorblind, so he had the chef come out to explain all the flavors to us. Apparently they make it in house, and it was amazing. So creamy, but fresh and light. Yum! The service was excellent. They called the day of to confirm my reservation, and the hostess, waiter, busser, manager, and chef, were all friendly, fast, and efficient. I was so impressed. They were all in the holiday spirit too, which is really nice this time of the year. I wanted to take my Dad to a special place to have a really nice dinner/experience, and Obar did exactly that for us. I can’t quit you Obar. XO

Thanks to Wokcano(Santa Monica) having such terrible service this Sunday, Ciara G and I decided to leave and have dinner here instead. What an AWESOME choice! We parked next door at Echi Sushi for a flat $ 8. As we walked into this dimly lit restaurant/bar, we were greeted by live piano music and lively vocals. The host was a friendly, gracious, elegant man who showed us to a comfortable table immediately. The dark wood flooring and tables encouraged the eye to focus on the glowing art glass bar and gorgeous capiz shell and glass chunk chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. As elegant and chichi as this place looked, it sported a totally casual dress code(jeans & t-shirts even). The dark leather high-backed armchairs that we sat in felt like big mama bear hugs, a perfect vibe for the comfort food that we shared: Mac & Cheese, add bacon($ 10 + $ 4) — gorgeous browned-breadcrumb-topped, perfectly tender mac with a slightly spicy, bacony cheesy sauce, served in a large gratin dish. So creamy good! Buttermilk Fried Chicken($ 18) — a crispy– battered, moist breast-and-wing piece served with thin waffles and warm maple syrup, and a bacony-caramelized-oniony pile of tender spinach. Omg this was SOYUMMY! The chicken had a gentle punch of spice, and the crispy coating was great! The caramelized onion-y spinach was awesome, and the waffles with warm syrup were too. Our server, Sara, was the perfect antidote to our terrible Wokcano experience — sweet, attentive, gracious and timely. This is DEFINITELY a place to return to — and the chicken is ABSOLUTELY a must repeat!

WOOHOO1,000OT points done right! Besides me needing a miners hat to see my dinner mate, read the menu and see my food I really, really enjoyed our last minute meal here. After the horror from Wokcano we needed to redeem ourselves with a 1,000 point meal done right. I searched my handy dandy OT app and scrolled through the 1,000 point resies available. O-Bar popped up and both Lucy Y and I heard of the place but didn’t know much about it. Did a quick browse on the Unilocal app and all I needed to see was Fried Chicken with Waffles and we were on our way. Parked at the Vintage Cleaners/Sushi lot next door for a flat rate of $ 8. Not bad as I would rather pay that than a $ 50 parking ticket that they give out in that area. We walked in and it took an initial minute or two to be greeted by anyone but then we got a friendly«I’ll be right with you» and he came right back after he dropped off a plate of food. Bonus point resie checked off and we were seated in the bar area in super princess like loungy leather chairs. Our server Sarah approached us shortly and offered water. We took a few minutes to browse through the menu but made our choice of the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Waffles and an order of the O-Bar Mac and Cheese plus Bacon. I did take some time for our food to come out but we were deep in chat and didn’t mind as there was a live piano player singing and playing some tunes. Our food was delivered piping HOT and smelled and from what we could barely see, looked amazing as well. This place is seriously so dark that Unilocalers be warned that you need to bring a camera with a flash if you want photos for your review. I sadly left the mini professional at home so no photos here. I dug into the piping hot mac & cheese first and PLEASE restrain yourself from doing so as it is tongue burning, scorch your taste buds off hot. But boy was it delicious! I think this is the best mac & cheese I have had at a restaurant. Crispy bread crumbed crusty top covered a mound of perfectly cooked large elbow macaroni noodles that were mixed in with the right amount of creamy cheese, bacon and spices. I am kicking myself now for not taking home the last spoonful home. Seriously it was that good. Winner Winner Fried Chicken Dinner! BESTFC in LA fo sho! And I even have ad hoc on the mind bc a Napa trip is right around the corner. Large juicy chicken breast coated in super crispy SEASONEDANDSPICED batter. My problem with most FC is that it is not spiced enough, this spice was delightful. The menu stated that the waffles were«pumpkin waffles» but neither one of us tasted any pumpkin flavor but the waffles were still really good. Maybe that is bc the yummy slightly rosemary infused maple syrup covered up the flavor. A side of sauteed spinach with bacon and caramelized onions was also served on the side and made this dish a true tasty treat. Loved the service, loved the atmosphere, loved the food and loved that I got 1,000OT points. O-Bar inspired my new list for 1,000OT resies done right. I WILLBEBACK!

I’d been hearing about this place for a while, and my friend and co-worker Frangelo, who generally seems to have good taste in things, checked in here a lot… so the other night, after passing my massive licensure examination, I needed to celebrate and the sign caught my eye as I was driving by… so I called and made a reservation. They ALMOST lost a star because we were asked to wait at the bar for our table, only to realize when we were seated that there was an entire section up top that was open… I mean, around seven tables. Why we had to wait for a table when there was such availability is lost on me. But it was a happy night, the cocktails were tasty, so slack shall be cut. The cucumber martini was very nice, very fresh. High-end gin, for certain. My boyfriend’s caipirinha was also well-made and tasty. We ordered the calamari, which was highly regarded on Unilocal, and found it to be nice, if not Earth-shatteringly good. The pork pulled flatbread was also tasty, though not one of the best I’ve had in life. Our entrees, though, were amazing. My Buttermilk Fried Chicken was one of the best I’ve had, it was like bouzhy Roscoe’s, true story. My date’s Pan Roasted Marinated Chicken, however, blew it away. Amazing dish, I’d get it myself next time, for certain. It’s a great venue, that’s not perfect, but they definitely have a good thing going… they just need to touch up their hostessing a notch and maybe tweak the appetizer menu, and it would be the best game in West Hollywood.

O-Bar is a great lounge/bar/restaurant! They have friendly and attentive staff. Their ambiance and décor is great! They have open seating indoor and outdoor. They play a mix of music and it’s quite lively in the evening. There is valet parking available right next to it and depending on the time of the day, abundant street parking. Not to mention, the food is great! The only thing to be wary of is the pricing. It ranges from $ 9-$ 14 for appetizers and $ 14-$ 33 for entrees, but you won’t be disappointed with the quality of their food! We tried the sweet potato fries which was lightly drizzled with honey, the mac n-cheese which literally melted in your mouth, and the pork sliders. These 4 dishes were well portioned and we even had food left to take home. O-Bar is a great place for large groups or even to dine for two!

Great place to arrange a wonderful pri fixe menu at an affordable rate to celebrate. At stop #3 on the Anthony S UCLA Graduation Celebration, he arranged for us to be in 3 small parties of 6 to 8 at each table and arranged a pri fixe meal with choice of either chicken or pasta, salad to start, and chocolate lava cake with ice cream to finish. All for $ 25 plus tax/tip. The company was great, the food was delightful. I ordered the chicken which had a wonderful mushroom gravy sauce, carrots, mashed potatoes, etc. The salad had goat cheese, greens, etc. I was quite impressed. They also had a great DJ Spinning. The minus one star? The drink I ordered(cap cod) was a bit too sweet and weak, and it was a poor substitute to a gray hound(my normal drink but I didn’t get this because they only had the sweet pink grapefruit juice which I don’t like in a gray hound). Couldn’t give them a 5 star for this. Hello people… get some grapefruit juice! :)

I came here on a Friday night with a group of friends to celebrate Hyerim L’s birthday! Yes, it is known to be a gay bar, but I noticed the crowd was pretty mixed and everyone was really friendly. I was really looking forward to trying the famous mango mojito but they had run out of mangoes that night. Booo so I tried a peach mojito instead which was delicious! I could barely taste the alcohol in it. And it was only $ 5 because it was happy hour! Shots from the menu were only $ 2.50 which is definitely the cheapest shot I’ve ever bought! The service at the bar area was pretty horrible though. After I got my drink, I was just standing there for 15 minutes waiting to pay for it. The bartender totally ignored me and was busy making other drinks. He’s lucky I even waited that long to pay him. I could have totally walked away with my drink! After lounging around the bar area, we moved to the tables for dinner. Service was much better in this area. We shared a bunch of appetizers such as the spicy ahi tuna tartar, burrata & marinated tomatoes, bbq sliders, and the sweet potato fries which was my fave of the night. It was covered with a sweet sticky glaze which made it even more yummy! The rest of the food was mehh. I was pretty disappointed by the ahi tuna tartar. That’s one of my favorite appetizers and I usually love it everywhere I go but this was one of the worst I’ve had. Note: the happy hour prices only apply at the bar area, which kinda sucks because you’re just paying double the price for sitting in a different area of the restaurant. Parking for O-Bar is $ 6 in the lot next door in front of the sushi restaurant. You can find street parking if you’re lucky! Overall, the ambience and décor is really nice. Food is okay. Service is pretty shoddy. I would come back but only for the Happy Hour prices.

Wednesday night O-bar reservations on 1,000 points!!! I really like points =D It really should be 3.5 stars… hehe This place has great ambiance, contemporary décor, pretty random music — from some oldies remixes to some hip hop and pop remixes. This is one pretty dim lit restaurant bar though… took me awhile to get adjusted and I could barely make out the menu… lol The service I have to say wasn’t so great… our waitress is always missing and we waited about 10 minutes to order… she would walk by and not ask if we were ready to order…=/ The guy that fills our glasses with water gave us better service… l he came around many times to check our tables… more times than our waitress. But it was nice for them to call me to confirm my reservation… So the most important thing now… the food! Well this is what we had ordered: Smoked Salmon Flatbread — Pretty crispy, really liked the lemon and dill aioli, salmon was paired well with the wild arugula — could do without the pickled red onions though Lobster Mac & Cheese — not your ordinary mac & cheese — because it had lobster! and three kinds of cheese topped with Parmesan bread crumbs. toasty top layer and hot and gooey center =] one problem would be the lobster… a bit chewy unfortunately but the flavor is good. Braised Free Range Lamb Shank — Whoa… huge! but unfortunately the Red Wine Jus was overwhelming to my taste… it covered the natural flavor of the lamb so I didn’t really like it. The meat did fall off the bone but it was just not tender enough on some parts. Sweet Potato Fries — Oooh this is yummy… I like how they top it off with some sweet glaze… so the fries were sweet and salty =] SO we also tried their Mango Mojito — first sip I didn’t like it… then as the night went on I developed a little crush on it hahaha =] I am not sure I will really come back for the food… maybe more for the really relaxed and kick back atmosphere. Their booths are really comfy and are squarish — not the regular rectangular ones that could seat like 4 but this one is more like 6. They also have outside seating that looks out onto the sidewalk. Overall I had a pretty good experience =D

Yum-o! I didn’t set my bar very high for o-bar prior to seeing the place but as we entered the restaurant, I was really impressed with the beautiful and modern décor. The restaurant was really nice and there were large crystal chandeliers all across the restaurant ceiling which set the mood for the restaurant — romaaaaaantic! Moving on to the food, the food was fantastic. It exceeded my expectations on all levels and was delicious and consistent. We went with a group of 6 and were smart enough to make reservations before showing up because they were hosting large parties that night and the restaurant was packed. We started the dinner off with some appetizers: Fried calamari: $ 9 Tempura Batter, Sweet & Sour Aioli and it tasted like any other calamari but we were hungry so we needed something quick. lobster mac & cheese: $ 19 Fresh Maine Lobster, Three-Cheese Sauce, Parmesan Bread Crumbs. This was an entrée but we all served it as an appetizer. The m&c had large morsels of lobsters hidden in the oozy cheese which was really good and I highly recommend. Pan Roasted Wild Striped sea bass: $ 24 which was accompanied by Potato, dungeness crab and Leek Hash, Curried Cauliflower Purée with some lobster sauce(this was AWESOME). Buttermilk fried chicken which came with pumpkin waffle: $ 18(OMG heavenly, flavorful & super moist… I never imagined a chicken could still stay so moist after it’s been fried. Pan roasted marinated chicken: $ 17 which was accompanied with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Shitakes, Baby Carrots, Marsala Pan Jus. This was probably the BEST dish at the table just because the chicken was soooo moist and delish. Slow simmered short ribs: $ 22 with Seasonal Vegetables, Mashed Potato, Braising Jus. Sounds good on paper but was my least favorite dish. I could have done without the braising jus sauce because it tasted like BBQ sauce which was a bit overwhelming. This is by far one of the best and most consistent meals I’ve had in a long time so I’m definitely coming back!

There is something down right shady about this place. My friend ordered a vodka red bull and it was $ 12, came in a 9oz old fashioned on the rocks glass. The SECOND time she went to the bar, she ordered TWO vodka red bulls and was only charged $ 22. Guess what??? Her drinks came in 16oz pint glasses. UHHHHWHATISTHIS?! The THIRDTIME she ordered a drink(also a vodka red bull), it again came in a 16 oz pint glass and she was only charged $ 10. Mind you, she went to 3 different bartenders. Either your damn bartenders are being shady or someone doesn’t know how to price their shit. NOTCOOL Oh but uh. I guess it’s nice looking inside. WHATEVER.

wow, this place is beautiful! I absolutely loved the décor. The bar was huge, and there were at least four bartenders, so we got served right away on a busy Saturday night. Cocktails were a little expensive, but strong enough to keep me from complaining. There were a lot of great looking boys & girls here as well, and plenty of bar seating. The food looked fantastic, I’ll definitely be back!

Came here for late night snacks and dessert, had sweet potato fries and the dark chocolate brownie cake. Absolutely loved the fries, were better than the ones in father’s office– which everyone raves about! Don’t get me wrong, the ones at fathers office is great too but I thought the ones here were better seasoned, perfect blend of sweet and salty! Oh and the dessert was rich and just hit that chocolatey spot!:) Hot spot for drinks too!
