Tanya Ramirez – Untamed Instincts

Tanya is amazing. In true Hollywood beauty industry style, we met on a photo shoot over 4 years ago now. I saw her create 12 Pinup Hairstyles, by herself, in record time. She even had time to do my hair since I was doing all the #bts videos. She has taken me blonde, lobbed my hair and everything in between. Since I’m in the beauty game — I am lucky enough to work with a lot of talented artists especially when I’m out at events — and Tanya definitely is definitely one of THE BEST.
She has styled my hair for the following events: Makeup Industry Events, HBO Emmy Party, WeHo Pride (she does my hair every year that I’m in the parade), photo shoots, video shoots and many many more. I need to figure out how to upload the photos somewhere so you can see her work. I love her new personal studio at Salon Republic, which is super close to a Trader Joe’s, a movie theater and Burke Williams if you want to make a Saturday of it. She’s passionate about her industry, she writes for the publications that teach other hair stylists how to stay on top of their game, and she «finishes» hair so you are photo/​video/​event worthy. Clearly — I can’t sing her praises enough. I love Tanya.

The the hair i had in mind was a lilac/​purple/​silver-​ish. SO i went to a hair stylist, which was a huge mistake because it broke so much because of the bleach, it turned out pink, orange and brown, NOT PURPLE. It was a disaster. SO i found Tanya and thank god i did!!! She was able to fix it, and still leave it soft! Also i got the color i wanted! She is truly amazing! The experience was wonderful!

Tanya is amazing. She is very sweet and does her job efficiently. I would definitely recommend her for color. She even gave me extra dye (purple) to take home and mix with my conditioner whenever I want to touch up my hair. The color was vibrant and faded out nicely. I only touched up my hair once and so far, the original color lasted about 9 months.

Tanya is a very nice person and extremely talented at what she does. For us, she blended three wigs together for a Hollywood production. She was extremely professional and wow, is she talented. I highly recommend her and will work with her again in the future.

Tanya is the best hair stylist I have been to since I moved to LA! She also does excellent kids haircuts! Highly recommended!

I have never seen anyone work color magic the way Tanya does. You know when you have a picture in your head and you describe it to your hairdresser and when you leave the salon it never looks quite the way you wanted it to? That doesn’t happen with Tanya. I don’t know what sort of magic she practices but it works. The Church of Tanya is the only place my hair worships.

Tanya’s talent is incredible, she’s so talented that two weeks later people are stopping me and asking me where I got my color done. I went to a salon for a blowout and stylists were surrounding me complementing my hair! She took my brown hair and turned it into an amazing blue ombré. I look like a mermaid! I’ve always wanted to go back and have blue hair but I was nervous because I didn’t want to destroy my hair, she made it so it was very minimally damaged. I don’t notice really, and people have said it looks better than ever. I’ve even inspired many of my friends to take the big color plunge, and I’m sending them to her. The process was 5 hours in total but went by quickly because I was playing with her adorable daughter. Tanya’s also great to talk to, she never forces conversations and has such a warm personality. If you want color and want it done right go to her, she also cuts hair!

Tanya is a true master colorist! I’ve seen her twice now for two drastic different looks and she’s blown my mind each time. When I leave the salon I can’t stop smiling.
When I first went to Tanya it was because I was frustrated that I went to my regular Ktown salon and they gave me this awful rusty red color that they left to saturate into my head for an hour+, when all I really wanted was straight purple hair. I started to feel hopeless thinking this color was impossible to achieve by anyone unless you were a celebrity and could afford some world famous stylist. Not only did Tanya color correct my hair, but she gave me the vibrant purple that I craved. She also made it super easy for me to maintain the purple for over 6 months.
When the purple hair was at the end of its good long run, and I was ready for another look. I went to Tanya again to go blonde.
I’m half Asian and I naturally have dark brown hair, and the purple over the bleached part of my hair and my roots made for an interesting challenge to go blonde. And let me tell you: SHE MADE ME LOOK LIKE I WAS BORN BLONDE. I was skeptical that blonde would look this natural on me, but all the dimensions she put into it really brought so much life to my hair and my skin tone. Not to mention that my hair feels and behaves great still. How she does it is beyond me.
She also convinced me to keep my hair long for a bit (which I appreciate when a stylist cares like that to offer her opinion) I’m glad she did because it was definitely interesting and fun to have this barbie kind of look. Although now that its hot outside, I’m ready to make another appointment with her to have a cute blonde bob: P
Last, she makes you comfortable to sit in the chair with for 4+ hours, and she’s cool to talk to. You can tell she really loves what she does and that she’s always pushing her skills further to keep on top of trends and get some real creative recognition (which she totally deserves)!

i cannot sing Tanya’s praises enough, she’s a true hair goddess!!!
i have done a lot of things to my hair so i went to Tanya with some rather damaged locks and asking for a very drastic change (take me lavender/​silver from my very dark brown overly processed hair). after a short consult and talking me through the reality of what we could accomplish she got to work.
now i could tell you about how she didn’t leave me alone for more than 5 minutes. or how she’s the easiest gal to just sit and chat with, but i know it’s not the same reading it. a few hours, some great conversation, and one of the best hair washes (i have a thing for them) ever i was walking out of the salon with unicorn hair!
my hair didn’t feel like straw and the color, my goodness the color was even better than i could have asked for (!!!). even now, it still feels strong and thanks to Tanya telling me about how to keep my color vibrant it’s still looking awesome!
i cannot wait to see her next month for more magic! if you are looking for a drastic color correction from someone who obviously REALLY knows color and is just a sweet person all around, do yourself the favor and look no further! Tanya is THE go to gal!!!

Amazing color. She is so great with red heads I saw her client yesterday and almost fell of my chair when I saw how great her hair looked. If you need a color correction Tanya is the best!!!

Tanya has done some major work on my hair. I mean MAJOR! I’m a lady blessed with near black hair, and she’s given me the opportunity to have deep, rich, blue-​violet locks. I could not be happier! She lifted my hair without damaging it (a feat in itself) and then painted in the color. I could not be happier! My cut is also now cute and swingy, just the way I like it. I love that every time I leave her, my hair is in better condition than when I walk in. I’ve started sending my husband and friends to her too– they now have no excuse to have bad hair. Tanya is amazing!

I cannot even begin to say how grateful I am to have found Tanya! She is AMAZING! I went with three of my friends back in April to get featherlocks. She had an amazing variety and helped us all pick out the right feathers and placement for our hair.
I recently moved and made the mistake of not going back to her for a second round of feathers because I now live further away. The lady I went to did a terrible job and wouldn’t listen to what I wanted. I called Tanya as soon as I left that salon and she fit me in the next day. I now have my feathers fixed and a few new ones! I’ll never go to another salon again!

Ok ok. I’m a fellow stylist who has known Tanya for years now but this is not some phony post to give her undue props! As a HAIRSTYLIST I’m picky… a pain in the ass really so if she can tame my hair she can make the average lady very happy ;) Great with color challenges! She did my wedding hair as well and it was beautiful! Cheers for Tanya!

on saturday morning I ran in to see Tanya to get some feather hair extensions! Tanya had fun colors and neutrals to pick from and she literally put them in my hair effortlessly in about three minutes or less. (it took me more time to decide on colors of feathers) My friend thought I was a little weird getting them, but when they were in, she really did like them. I only got two spots — one extension has two very natural subtle feathers and the other one behind my ear has a muted purple. I have never had extensions before, so it’s a little odd getting used to the bead, but you honestly don’t know they are there. You can blow dry them, curl them, straighten them… they are quite amazing and add something a little extra to your hair. totally fun! Tanya was so friendly, accomodating & fun — I will probably give her a ring when I need my highlights done again (and feathers re-​done or moved!) Thanks, Tanya!

Contacted Tanya through Featherlocks and she did such an amazing job with them for me and my friend. We both love them and will definitely go back for our next ones!
She helped us pick the right colors, placement, etc. I needed to be able to hide for work and she put the feather in such a way that it lays beautifully or I can hide very easily if need be!

tanya is such a gem. i made a last minute appointment yesterday and i could not be happier with my hair. i always wait WAY too long to get it cut — like to the point where i feel like a hideous haystack is atop my head. i left tanya with bodacious, bouncy layers full of volume. i have fine, dry hair but tanya transformed it into thick, luscious locks with texture and movement. i don’t think i have ever had a better haircut. my loyalties run thin with stylists but i definitely think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. thanks, tanya!

Tanya is awesome! She was recommended to me by another stylist and I couldn’t be happier! I went to her for my last haircut and gave me THE PERFECT BOB. Ah! Perfection! perfect length, perfect angle, perfect.
She also styled my hair and my sister’s hair for my wedding this past December. She teased my bob for a 60s look, but it still looked slick and polished. For my sister, who has medium length hair, she styled and gave her curls. My sister absolutely loved it!

Tanya is the sweetest hair stylist I have ever met. She really listens and gives you the cut that you want.
I called the same day that I wanted my hair cut. She took me last minute, and still spent a lot of time working on my hair. I have very thick coarse hair that is difficult to cut, and she did an amazing job.
I was really nervous about seeing a new stylist, because I had a horrible cut at Rudy’s Barbershop last year (think ugly mullet/​Mrs. Brady), and have been trying to grow my hair out ever since. But she instantly put me at ease and did a fabulous job. I am so grateful!

Tanya is seriously awesome!
New to SoCal, I tried a bunch of different stylists before finding an amazing find in Tanya. She ROCKS at color… as I am constantly changing my mind in what I want, Tanya actually pointed in my in a fab color direction that I wouldn’t have thought of. And, I’m in loooove with it.
Bonus – she is super chill and great to talk to while getting your hair done.
Negative – bring quarters for street parking… def got a ticket while in the salon
