Back in the day Magnolia and Bolsa was the main hub of Lil Saigon, still is but you can tell its a lil old skool. These days the old Asian drivers, casino buses, flocks of seagulls’ shitting everywhere and bums kind of keep me away from this shopping center. HOWEVER, when I went to visit a friend who lived nearby I saw the«Amore» sign getting put up. Immediately I was excited because could this company be the same as my beloved AmorePacific? You know the one that I spent hundreds at Sephora for?! It’s even in the same style font hmmmm. At the time they were still under construction so I had to patiently wait. And wait. [After a late night Google session I confirmed that AmorePacific is the global umbrella in which includes Amore, Laneige, Iope and other Korean cosmetics lines! OMG wish I knew that! Wtf I think I gained Sephora’s VIB rouge status because I spent so much on AmorePacific stuff! :/tricky Asian marketing!] I forgot about this spot til I had the urgency to hunt down this internet cult craze called«Happy Foot», which is a callus remover on a whole other level! I was gonna hit up Rodeo Cosmetics adjacent to HMart bc that’s the only Korean make up spot I know of around here but since I’m in the area… Wow! So glad I went here first! LOVE it! It’s 2 stores connected together so there is plenty to see and the staff was very friendly. Unlike Rodeo, I wasn’t hawked on or treated like I was gonna steal! Even though it is mostly Korean products there’s Japanese and other Asian product lines too. They even carry American products like BareMinerals. The staff is Vietnamese which is smart business as it caters to the demographics of that area. But the speak English well too. I found them to be very helpful and totally not racist! They even offered to do my make up and give me demos. They didn’t have the exact Baby Foot brand that I was looking for but she was very knowledgeable and had a plethora of comparable foot mask products. Not to mention BETTERPRICES than what I was expecting to pay! I was so surprised at how great their customer service was as its kind of rare to get that from any Asian establishment! Lol I also stocked up on Laneige and Iope BB cushion compacts as its literally half the price of the AmorePacific one at Sephora! For $ 32 – 40 you get one PLUS a refill pack! AP at Sephora gets u a refill too but it’s $ 60! I’m sold. They also have a point system and gave me samples too. I hope they stay in business for a long time. For kpopskin this is MY new fave go-to!
