This place changed ownership about 2 – 3 years ago. When I first ate after the change, the new owner asked me all kinda of questions, and seem to be very chatty and nosy when I’m eating. She’s someone you would call in Vietnam, «ba ban ca,» which translate to «a lady who sells fish.» It just means that their tongue is quite sharp and aggressive. I ordered the«hu tieu dac biet,» translated to «white noodle soup special.» I requested the bigger and fatter noodles, I don’t like the thin noodles. The soup came out with the thin noodles and I asked if it was the bigger and fatter noodles and the waitress responded yes. I don’t think the woman had any clue what I was talking about, and I spoke Vietnamese! I thought the broth was pretty good, thumbs up! When I finished my meal, I went up to the cashier and paid. As I was waiting for someone to take my money, I noticed the unsanitary floor, counters and exposed trash. It was pretty disgusting. Can you imagine what the kitchen looks like? Yuk! I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this place again. It’s filthy.

1– Be selective about your utensils and clean them before using. I went through 4 dirty, stained soup spoons before coming to one I could actually use. 2– Be sure they have your order 100% correct. Repeat it 2 or 3 times. They got 2 out of 6 of our orders right. 3– Ask if they have what you need in stock. Even something as simple as soy milk. Or tea. Or certain noodles… I’ll give one star though. Because it’s decent and cheap food. Good for hu tieu! Oh and bring cash. Also portions are measly

My mom took me to eat the Hieu tieu xieu quach(I think I spelled that right) here and I fell in love. The meat portions are huge and the dish is filling. It comes with veggies too. The thing I love is that they don’t use MSG or if they do not a lot. I don’t feel sleepy, slouchy, or lazy after eating this. Great meal for a cold day:)

For the restaurant’a cleanliness, I would give it a 3/5, the place was quite clean looking in the eating area. customer service 2/5, It looks like there were two people who work in the front counter. One is the manager or the boss, the old lady ones, and the other one is the server. As I have investigated, it seems like the old lady doesn’t do much things, she told the server to clean the table, set the table, serve, wash dishes and even take orders for customers. How could one young lady server do all the jobs herself? This is like child labor. I don’t expect to labor work like that. Made me feel bad for her. When you’re eating, the old lady kept talking to one customers to another. When she’s done talking to the others, she came to you and talk to you. This is quite annoying. Otherwise, I recommend eating the Hu Tieu Nam Vang, it was seasoned just right. I like that. If I were to have a choice to choose between dining in or take out, I would rather call in and take out. You don’t see much people there, people usually to take outs, maybe trying to avoid that old lady.

Cheap but you get what you pay for. Had the bun rieu and the best part was the tomato. Tap water had a noticeably stale taste. If you go here, try another dish

My mom told me they have the red rice with game hen for less than $ 4 when dining in. The portion looks way better than $ 1.99 restaurant. The banh canh was pretty good for the quality and portion. The servers were very nice and accommodating
