Williamsport Sun-Gazette

This review is sad for me to write but needs to be done as the changes made to
have made it useless. Several times per year I need information about events that occur in the Williamsport area, and the Sun Gazette website offered this detailed and well wrote information for free. Yes, there were ads on the website, so it was not actually free.
Recently I came back to check for information and found that the vast majority of content on the website has been put behind a Paywall. This includes older articles from the last few years along with today’s latest news. The Paywall system they have chosen (MediaPass) is terrible, I can’t find the basic information about what the rates are without having to Sign Up. Other newspapers in the area use Paywalls, but some are more sensible and limit the visitor to five articles per month (NewsItem and Scranton Times-​Tribune).
At this point the SunGazette could stop publishing and I’m sure it would not be missed, as you can’t see the information on their website anyway. It seems that this newspaper has gotten lost and forgot to enter the 21^st century. Such a great local source lost… and it’s sad.
