Happy Garden

When you order take out, delivery person always round off the price. If your bill is $ 14.60, he will round it off to $ 15.00. Happens all the time. This time I decide to call Happy Garden to complain. Was told he was to busy and hangs up on me.

After trying out some other Chinese take-​out places on GrubHub in my area, nothing compares to Happy Garden. Every time I have ordered from this place, I have NEVER been disappointed. Everything crispy/​fried food that I order is delivered crispy. And fast! You won’t be disappointed ordering from here. I sure have not been (and I’ve ordered (slightly shamefully) many times from here.

This food is very yummy. We buy a great deal of good food here. My Louie always picks up. You guys should be buying Louie a free meal. We have paid your rent a few times now. Give it up. Be nice. We are great to you!!!

The worst lunch that I have ever had … Waste my $ and time to drive there
Meat was dry and bland
Soup was tasteless

I usually order delivery and they get to you fairly quick. However this place is so inconsistent with their food and service. I usually get chicken with broccoli. Some times the food taste great and and sometimes the food has a hair in it or it is either cold and soggy. I called once to complain and they act like they give half a shit about their food or service. I wish this was a place was a little more consistent. Sometimes they surprise you and you feel like the place is not that bad. Which is why and I’m giving them a two instead of a 1.

Ordered for lunch here off of GrubHub. Food was great. Ordered the shredded beef in garlic sauce lunch special with dimsum and also an eggroll. Spent in total $ 13 after tax. I was skeptical since the estimated delivery time seemed very long, but the food arrived here very quickly. Definitely would order here again!

This is a neighborhood joint that at one time was better. It’s funny because half my family likes this place a lot and the other half does not.
I am the half that would not want to go back. While it’s not a big restaurant there are many open tables. And still service was slow and bad.
The food is where we all have a deferent view. The spare ribs are downright awful everyone agrees with that. The fried rice is split ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ I personally like dark fried rice rather than very light others love it. Rest of food is split ⁵⁄₅₀ as well but I am the only one who ordered the seafood delight and it was not delightful. They use frozen seafood that was in freezer way too long. The scallops were not edible.
From my perspective this is a no go again.
I would give this another half star only because half my family is cool with place.

this place is amazing! I never actually sat in their restaurant but I always order deliveries. if you are a good customer, they allow you to order UNDER the minimum amount. they deliver super fast. so far the only place I use if I want Chinese food.

No, just no. I wish there were other american-​chinese food places nearby, but really, this place is it, and I unfortunately don’t trust the cleanliness of their food. I found hair cooked into the broccoli — and yes, that happens — I usually don’t let that bother me, but this time, as my other coworkers had complained as well, I realized, whew! It’s not me, it’s this place!
After frequenting this place about 4 times, I stopped. I’m done.

I have to say that the place has had it’s ups and downs. The consistency of the cooking has changed. There are days when it is great and other days when it’s «What just happened here?» Same food order, different cook? No idea.
I think that the service has something to be desired because there seems to be a bit of difficulty in ordering by phone here. It’s pretty regular about that issue and it’s sad because I think they are losing customers due to the decline in service and phone etiquette. Oh well.
The food is the same, good as always on the weekends especially.

Rude! They just lost a long time customer. This place was a local go-​to for simple take out fare; nothing notable. Just recently, tried to place a simple order for pick-up…chicken and broccoli dinner combo, general tso tofu, and lg veg fried rice. Person takes the order and repeats it back to me. Fine. Then someone else gets on the phone and proceeds to repeat the order AGAIN. Yes, again from me, then the second person says something to the effect of, «What is wrong with you?» not sure who she was speaking to but she understood the next line loud and clear Cancel the order… no thanks… There are way too many take out joints to tolerate bs from UN-​Happy Garden.

damn this place has awesome food… love their shredded chicken. But their service really could stand to be better. I don’t like their rule that if you walk in with two people — you have to meet a $ requirement to just sit and eat there. It was a sunday afternoon… and NO ONE was there. Could it have killed them for me to eat while my friend drank her soda?

Happy Garden is the go to Chinese take out restaurant in my neighborhood. The menu is pretty standard, but they have a wide selection, and i’m rarely disappointed with the quality of the food. They recently added some thai dishes to the menu as well (pad thai, chicken satay, etc.) Note that the pad thai is spicy. I just had the chicken satay the other night, which was decent, along with a nice peanut sauce.
The prices are competitive with what you’d expect from chinese take out. They have your typical lunch combo + dinner combo platters that come with an egg roll and fried rice. I’d say you really can’t go wrong with what you order, but here are a few recommendations of things I order regularly:
— cold sesame noodles
— chicken with garlic sauce
— chicken with chinese veggies in a white sauce
— moo shu chicken
— shrimp chow fun
— shrimp lo mein
— wonton soup
— chicken corn chowder
As far as the service is concerned, they’re very attentive on the phone, and depending on how much you order, it can be ready in as little as 10 minutes. If you want to eat in, the restaurant itself is pretty bare bones, but there’s a lot of seating available, and again, the service is great. There are a few other chinese places in the area, but I’d say Happy Garden has the best combination of service and quality of food. Enjoy!

This place has amazing Chinese food. I am very picky when it comes to Chinese food. This place has great food and the prices are normal. I always get the chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce with brown rice and its so Delicious. They also deliver, which is great. If you are in the neighborhood and thinking Chinese stop by and enjoy your meal.

My mom wont eat from any other Chinese fast food place so that’s why we order from here. The food is actually quite good, for Americanized-​Chinese.
