Came here for a birthday dinner. Ambience and décor was really nice. We had a long table in the back. Waiters were attentive and friendly, food and drinks were good. We loved our appetizers(calamari, won tons, popcorn, etc) and drinks. Just about everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. I got the skirt steak which was a little over cooked and the sauce on the steak wasn’t great but that didn’t negatively affect my experience. Someone got the chicken sandwich which they loved! Looking forward to going back soon.

My husband and I have been here twice, there will be many more visits to come! Their calamari is the best I have ever had. We have had the chicken satay, dumplings and the pretzel plate… YUMMMM! I had the mushroom phở and my hubs had the salmon on our first visit… it was scrumptious! We took our sons with us today and we all had a different burger… all were delish! Our servers were so attentive and made excellent recomondations! Looking forward to our next visit!

For Wilmington, Delaware this is hands down one of the best restaurants where one could dine. Even in a larger urban context I would rate 8th& Union as a 4 Star restaurant. Their Tiki Burger will knock your damn socks off! And that’s saying something coming from a Texan who knows a thing or two ’bout burgers! No better option than Monday Night Happy Hour where you’ll have a Smoked Manhattan for $ 5 and a burger for $ 6(Monday, burger night). Do yourself a favor and eat at this awesome Union St establishment!

Quick lunch with colleague. Tuesdays are half-price tacos and I ordered the Ahi Tuna tacos which were good and great plantain chips that come with it. Thoroughly enjoyed their brussels sprouts. Colleague had a very nice salad with chicken. Wooden doors going back again when in the Wilmington area.

I was here visiting from DC, I had work to do and spent a few hours working on my laptop. Tim and the staff were extremely accommodating and genuinely nice and pleasant. I ordered phở and drinks during my stay, and not only was the service exceptional, so was the food. By far one of the best bowls of phở I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely recommend it. I’ll be back if I ever come back and visit Wilmington.

First time here, we were a group of 7 plus 2 babies for brunch. I live in Philadelphia, but Wilmington is a good half way point that we meet with some friends from MD. I was a little leary because we turned out to be the only people here, but I was very pleasantly surprised! First off, I am not easily impressed. I’ve been to some really«nice» places, with prices moderate to high, and and often find the experience mediocre or moderately above average with all things considered(price, quality, service, etc.). This establishment delivers grade A service and quality at affordable prices. Everything I had was fantastic. Expertly prepared, presented, and service with a smile. I wish this was in my neighborhood in Philadelphia, as I would be here frequently. We will most likely be meeting here again in the future!

First time dining on a Saturday night. Arrived at 8pm and waited about 20 mins for table. The décor was dark, rustic, and modern. For my drink, I ordered a somewhat pricey speciality drink that came in a very small rocks glass. I ordered the pretzel appetizer that came with a crab dip, cheese dip, and honey mustard. Every bit on the appetizer was very tasty. For my meal, I had the Kennett Square mushroom phở. Being a huge fan of mushrooms, tofu, edamame, and every other ingredient in the soup dish, I figured it was a home run – plus, I wanted to give phở a try to see what was all the rave was about. Honestly, I was not at all impressed. The dish lacked flavor. Very bland and lifeless. However, I would definitely come back soon to give some other items a try. From the looks of their menu, they have amazing happy hour specials! Lastly, our server was friendly, informative, and attentive so great job on service!

8th& Union is by far the best restaurant in Wilmington, DE. Service is superb. Highly recommend the buffalo cauliflower, calamari. All the burgers are amazing, cooked to perfection and to order. The Gouda burger is to die for.

I really liked the food selection at this place! I ordered the Cauliflower burger, it was tasty! And the Buffalo cauliflower appetizer was also tasty, and different. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and fun.

The menu was inventive and fun — totally unexpected! They also have almost everything available gluten free. Definitely one of my new favorites. Had the Pad Thai and it was yummy and authentic; the server was great and even brought some extra chili dipping sauce of his own suggestion! Would definitely, and will, go back.

I must admit, I was skeptical at first that a group of hipsters in Wilmington could cook Vietnamese food. They have managed to improve upon classic southeast Asian dishes that have already been perfected by centuries of cooks. They have taken phở and banh mi to the next level. I also like what they did with the Thai salad… It’s nice to see some greens there for a change. Not sure what the obsession with cauliflower is… Must be a hipster thing

My new favorite in Wilmo! The former Union City Grille has been totally redone and rejuvenated. A super cool spot to hang out and enjoy some drinks and the Asian-inspired menu. Best of all, the vast majority of items are gluten-free(or can be made GF) with lots of vegetarian or vegan choices too. The kitchen is really aware of gluten intolerance issues so it’s an absolute pleasure to dine there. Everything I’ve ordered has been so good. I especially enjoyed the huge pot of mussels in delicious spiced lemongrass broth, served with fries. I love the small share plates to start with, especially the soy-orange bok choy. There’s so much to choose from, and even the dessert menu has 2 – 3GF options, as in real actual desserts(not just«you can have the sorbet») made by a very innovative pastry chef. Small details like the cayenne-cinnamon popcorn and sparkling water at the table add big bonus points for me. Also, every server I’ve encountered has been relentlessly nice, friendly, and helpful. All around this place is really enjoyable. PS. Apparently there’s brunch on Sundays, so here’s one request/challenge for 8UK — please add some brunch items for my vegan friends so we don’t always have to go to Home Grown. ;)

For a Wilmington restaurant, I would give this restaurant a 5 star — decent drink menu and attentive service. The restaurant also offers different discounts throughout the week — I think Wednesday was appetizer half off. Food was delicious and portion was generous. For the particular visit, I got beef phở and my friend got mushroom phở — both were delicious and we love the bowl it came in. Not the best phở I’ve had and slightly over priced(I think my beef phở was over 15 bucks), but the portion was generous, I couldn’t even finish my bowl. Parking was a breeze in the rear entrance, and the place was not overly crowded on a weekday night.

RJ and I had dinner here on August 9th. We started with spring rolls which were fresh and crisp and full of flavor. We both ordered shrimp pad Thai and just felt it was ok. Not very spicy or authentic, with small shrimp and not a lot of them. We should have gone to a Thai place for it. For dessert we had fried banana spring rolls with chocolate and caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Wow, that was the best part of the meal, absolutely phenomenal!

I’ve been twice. First time didn’t real leave a good taste in my mouth. I had the fish and chips served with fried plantains instead of actual fries and the fish instead of cod was catfish my father had the burger and he gor the better item service was slow which didn’t help. The second time was with my dad and older brother who was visiting and was got the pot stickers and a few other things. The pot stickers were okay I got the pork taco’s this time and they were awesome however the service was still slow and it was rather over priced for what we got. Also for being a Friday night it was not packed at all and no one was around the bar and there were no specials going on unless you were at the bar. Funny though where we were sitting 2 steps from the bar at a booth and the specials didn’t apply. Over all I think this place can get better and i will be back however it still needs to figure it’s self out.

Just walking in the amazing smell excited my senses. The bar super hip, and very welcoming staff. When greeted the server brought house filtered sparkling and still to choose from. Love this! I was super excited to hear skate was in the Phở plus on the side Thai basil, cilantro, bean sprouts and peppers. Add as desired. The general Tso chicken was AWESOME! Braised Game Hen(so tender) with bok choy, pineapple and rice. Every thing was Outstanding!!!

The place is decent. We may have just gone on an off night. We ordered drinks and food at the bar and the bartender just seemed distracted. We just had some small plates and the food was average. We will give it one more try, but so far they are not doing anything worth driving into town from N Wilmington.

Me and a gal friend moved away from Delaware but were back in town and wanted to try a new and good restaurant for a girls dinner. We had heard great things about 8th& Union and the asian fusion/gastropub menu looked DELISH, so we made a reservation and came in. We started with original cocktails that were flavorful and unique. Next were appetizers for dumplings, calamari, and summer rolls — all great! And the munchie popcorn — addictive seasoning! Dinner was 2 kinds of phó, a burger, and I got the chicken/shrimp pad thai. One girl that got phó was a first-timer and LOVED it! All of our dishes were well prepared and flavorful. The restaurant has outdoor seating which i’m sure is great for social outings. Definitely check out this place — THANKGOODNESS Wilmington has a new unique dining option instead of the same-olé boring stuff. *Plus they have quite a few gluten-free options!

It was my first experience at 8th and union and it was very pleasing! Started the night off with the pork dumplings and snapper ceviche which were both executed very well! Ceviche was VeRY fresh, and had nice heat and citrus flavor which paired nicely. For dinner went with the green curry, which was fantastic. I’m a big fan of curry’s and this didn’t disappoint, I highly recommend it! The owner, Brian, came over twice during our meal to make sure everything came out as expected, which was a nice touch. I will be back in the future for sure!

Vietnamese inspired food. My girlfriend had the Phở. Really good. One of the items the waiter recommended. Her 2 year old had pork dumplings and the plate was ckean. They have a good kids menu but out little foodie wanted dumplings. I had the cauliflower burger — had to, I mean who has that on the menu? It was so good, I cleaned my plate in a second! Good first start, something different — a good new restaurant for Wilmington.
